The People's Republic of Best Korea is a gargantuan, efficient nation, ruled by Kim Jong-Un with an iron fist, and renowned for its rampant corporate plagiarism, vat-grown people, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 12.845 billion Best Koreans are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Pyongyang. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 67.8%.

The very strong Best Korean economy, worth a remarkable 1,307 trillion Won a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched black market in Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, Woodchip Exports, and Furniture Restoration. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 101,822 Won, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 315,367 per year while the poor average 25,329, a ratio of 12.5 to 1.

Funding for education has been redirected into the military, loss of the ability to speak is a common affliction of the elderly, prison libraries are being replaced with interrogation chambers, and Harry Potter books are banned. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Best Korea's national animal is the Chollima, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Juche.

Best Korea is ranked 116,581st in the world and 16th in The Axis of Evil for Largest Retail Industry, scoring 1,200.45 on the Shrinkwrap Consignment Productivity Index.
