Edmontia was founded in 1874 by Edmont settlers that came to its shores in hopes of achieving massive wealth in a short amount of time. Instead, they found a beautiful landscape that provided a wide diversity of landscapes and wildlife. The country contains snowcapped mountain peaks, idyllic beach shores, and a large tropical forests. The most prominent wildlife in the country its the Komodo Dragon, which can commonly be seen all across the country. The settlers founded a nation that promised political freedoms and civil rights, but still exploited the native Bigotopian population. The land was ruled by a variety of constitutional monarchs beginning with King Jason I for whom the national currency is named after to Queen Tonya Buka, whose assassination in 1926, heralded the end of early democratic rule of Edmontia and the beginning of a Bigotopian revolution that would see the native Bigotopian population revolt against the ruling Edmont class and establish a Bigotopian dictatorship that would rule for the next 40 years, starting with High Mighty General Tillobutu. This era is known as the Bigotopian Uprising.
