A Somewhat Abridged History of Fotar, Fox of Narnia

On September 13, 2007, Fotar joined Nationstates to help other members of the website LinkNarniaweb.com build a Narnia-themed region. Led by The narnian council, the Council of Narnia experienced moderate growth over its first few months. Fotar quickly rose through the ranks of democracy to become the second most powerful nation in the region.

After growth stalled in early 2008, Fotar suggested a radical idea to The Narnian Council- get rid of democracy. The move was risky, but it paid off. As Lord Protectorate of the reformed Council of Narnia, Fotar was the chief advisor to the Lord Chancellor, as the Narnian Council know called himself. After meddling in some foreign affairs, Fotar began the Imperial Army of Narnia as a defender force for CoN. Early successes caught the eye of the Founderless Regions Alliance, which quickly accepted CoN into its ranks as a member region. This has long been referred to the Golden Age of Narnia.

By the beginning of 2009, the Lord Chancellor was forced to retire. Upon doing so, he placed the Council of Narnia under Fotar's complete control. In the following months, Fotar led CoN into a second Golden Age with a population exceeding 150 at one point.

Over the next two years, Fotar continued to lead CoN through periods of activity and inactivity. Fotar saw the region through a variety of attacks, including the 'Puppet Wars' and the CoN forum deletion by Rougiers. Eventually, 'real-life' commitments took its toll on Fotar's leadership and, ultimately, the Council of Narnia. By the summer of 2011, Fotar's beloved Council of Narnia had all but collapsed into complete inactivity.

Fotar then left CoN to begin a long desired project: The Order of the Fox. This was to be an knighthood dedicated to spreading good across the Nationstates world. The idea never took off though, with Fotar continuing to struggle with a lack of time to commit to the Order.

In October 2011, the regions of Balder and Osiris were created. Fotar joined Balder in hopes of giving feeder-politics a try for the first time. In the first elections held in Balder's history, Fotar was elected vice-delegate.

A few weeks into the term, the delegate, a nation under the name of Luxembourg, began banjecting high-ranking members of Balder, including Fotar. Additionally, since Fotar was a forum admin on Balder's forums, Luxembourg also hacked Fotar's email in hopes of gaining access to the forum. This failed and set off an interregional firestorm condemning the attacks.

Fotar took over as interim delegate and was successful at being elected delegate in the ensuing elections. The elections, however, were rife with mudslinging and political nightmares. This, combined with a continued increase in real-life obligations, led Fotar to resign the post and retire from Nationstates at the end of 2011.

In May 2012, Fotar returned to the game with the idea of securing the now completely defunct and founderless Council of Narnia. Once accomplished, Fotar established the region of Cair Paravel to be the new face of Narnia on Nationstates. Fotar never intended to be a full-time, active leader though and searched for someone else to lead this new region.

Meanwhile, the Council of Narnia continued to dwindle with only a handful of nations remaining by September 2012. Fotar and others remained saddened by the decline of their homeland- this new region could never match the attachment they all felt to the Council of Narnia. So, with the help of the original founder of the Council of Narnia, Fotar was able to refound the region in his name on September 13, 2012. A rush of activity descended on the region and recruitment quickly reestablished the region to over 50 members.

The rush was brief as Fotar's life again picked up in real-life obligations and busyness, culminating with the birth of his first child in the week before Christmas. The new year, however, found Fotar was time to spare and he returned to actively playing Nationstates towards the middle of January 2013. On January 15th, Fotar established the First Conclave of Aslan to rebuild Narnia.
