Directed-energy Weapon (DEW)

Directed-energy Weapons are weapons capable of launching energies to targets for desired effects. The government have been funding the research on this technology in hopes to improve the military capabilities of the country & able to surpass most countries. The EvoTec Corp. was pointed as the developer of this project, as they were the only company in the country to possess the required technology & resources to run this project. The government even recruits fresh graduates & students, but the students were allowed to work in their spare time or during holidays.

After 8 years of development, the DEWs were put to the test, & they were proven to be successful. Still, it can only be mounted on ships as they required large energies to fire the weapons. In recent years, the research had a major breakthroughs, which allows them to mount these weapons on aircraft, but not yet able to be used as infantry weapon. The government announced that the DEWs will be launched next year for ships & aircraft. The research for infantry use is still ongoing. But unknown to the public, the government ordered the weapons to be mounted on the Java-class Mk. II Submarines & the UF-32 Unmanned Fighters (these fighters were yet to be announced either to the public or the military, except for the highest ranking officers in the military).
