Electoral Practices Act

An Act to establish a set date for elections, and to create provisions for special elections.

Recognising that the region has not yet set a specific day on which elections to official positions are to be held, and further recognising that action must be taken regarding the election to fill vacancies in official positions.

§1- Regular elections for President, Vice President, and relevant positions will be held on the final Saturday of each month of elections (January, April, July, and October). This will ensure that each active voting nation with a vested interest has time to vote in elections, and will ensure that there is time throughout the month for debates in each position. Elections will not be held for positions which are uncontested, or for which there are no candidates.

§2- When a position is vacated, by means of impeachment and removal, resignation, or the official nation ceasing to exist, elections will be held one week after the first candidate has declared their intention to run. If no candidate declares their interest in running within the week, the position will remain vacant until a candidate declares their interest for the position.

§3- Each regular election must have a 'None Of The Above' option on the ballot, which voters may select when they are dissatisfied with the options before them. When selecting this option, the voter must state who their preferred candidate is in the RMB. Much like a write-in vote in United States elections, the selected candidate of the voters does not have to be somebody who is running for the position.
