The Haliczan War Navy (HWN) is a military branch of the Haliczan Armed Forces responsible for naval operations. The HWN consists of 35 000 soldiers and 25 major warships (plus smaller and auxiliary ships). The traditional ship prefix in HWN is OHS.

Role



HWN's major roles are: guarding home waters, securing trade routes of vital importance and participation in joint operations with the allied navies.

The Haliczan War Navy was established in 1774, two years after the formation of the Grand Duchy. It only consisted of small or obsolete vessels at first, but in 1893, its first big modern vessel was commissioned.
