The president serves a mostly ceremonial role in the country as the Head-of-State, however the nations official leader is the Prime Minister as Head-of-Government. Legislative Authority of the nation is vested in the Kurdistan Parliament.

12) Brief History of Nation:

In 2017, the Kurdistan Regional Government held an independence referendum, to separate from the Republic of Iraq. Preliminary results showing approximately 93.25 percent of votes cast in favour of independence. With the refendum complete, and showing majority support for Independence the Kurdish Region, and territory under it's control moved for independence. After several months of negotiation with the Iraqi Government Kurdistan was granted full independence from Iraq on 14 November 2017.
