Convention articles
Article 1 – prisoners of war:

i) Wounded and sick soldiers who are out of the battle should be humanely treated, and in particular should not be killed,
injured, tortured, or subjected to biological experimentation.

ii) Wounded and sick soldiers should be collected, cared for, and protected, though they may also become prisoners of war.

iii) Parties to the conflict should record the identity of the dead and wounded, and transmit this information in appropriate circumstances.

iv) The International Red Cross or any other impartial humanitarian organization is authorized to provide protection and relief of wounded and sick soldiers, as well as medical and religious personnel.

Article 2 - punishment:



No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.

Article 3 - pillage:



Pillage is prohibited.

Article 4 - reprisals:



Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited.

Article 5 - deportations:



i) Individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory to the territory of the Occupying Power or to that of any other country, occupied or not, are prohibited, except in extreme circumstances such as epidemics.

ii) The Protecting Power shall be informed of any transfers and evacuations as soon as they have taken place.

iii) The Occupying Power shall not detain protected persons in an area particularly exposed to the dangers of war unless the security of the population or imperative military reasons so demand.

iv) The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies, except where the conquered territory has been formally annexed.

Article 6 – weapons of mass destruction:



Weapons of a chemical radioactive or radioactive nature, along with any weapons which make civilian casualty in large number probable is prohibited except if imperative military reasons so demand.

Article 7 - persecution:



Facilities and programs designed to persecute, force into labour, or kill members of a group are prohibited, except in extreme circumstances such as insurrection.
