The Principality of Yokohama is a sovereign city-state, country, and microstate located on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kantō region of the main island of Honshu, Japan. Yokohama has an area of 437.38 km2 (168.87 sq mi), its population was about 3,732,616 based on the last census of 2016. Yokohama is a principality governed under a form of constitutional monarchy, with Prince Haruto as head of state. Although Prince Haruto is a constitutional monarch, he wields immense political power. Despite Yokohama's independence and separate foreign policy, its defense is the responsibility of Japan. However, Yokohama does maintain two small military units.
