RA Proposal by Rep. Grenopia

“To ensure Assembly members remain active and engaged in their work - and to allow for greater scrutiny of executive actions - I propose that the RA form three committees.

Executive Oversight Committee - 2 members
Responsible for scrutinising the government’s implementation of legislation and putting forward constitutional legislation/amendments

Internal Affairs Committee - 3 members
Responsible for scrutinising the government’s roleplay/Internal Affairs decisions and putting forward internal affairs legislation

New Members Committee - 2 members
Responsible for ensuring new members are welcomed as per the New Members Act and persuading members to become involved in regional politics (via legislation if appropriate)

At the beginning of every new term, representatives would indicate their committee preferences. The Assembly would then choose committee members by consensus. Representatives may not hold membership in two committees simultaneously.

If the Assembly has 5 members instead of 7, the committees would look like this:
Executive Oversight and Roleplay Committee - 3 members
Combines the Executive Oversight Committee and the Internal Affairs Committee
New Members Committee - 2 members

If the membership of the Assembly is irregular (for example, if a representative has been ejected from the Assembly by a motion of no confidence), a solution shall be considered at that time by the Assembly as a whole.

On Sundays, instead of the topical debate currently specified in law, one of the committees would present the Assembly as a whole with any legislation or findings. They would rotate like so:

Sunday 1 - Executive Oversight
Sunday 2 - Internal Affairs
Sunday 3 - New Members

If there were only 5 members of the Assembly, they would rotate like so:
Sunday 1 - Executive Oversight and Roleplay
Sunday 2 - New Members
Sunday 3 - No committee”
