The Religious Orders and Cults of Orbodus

Major Religions

Binaron

Binaron is the largest religion practiced in all of Orbodus. Despite most Orbodus citizens being atheists, this is by an extremely slight margin as many billions of people adhere to Binaron and its beliefs and practices (just above 40% all citizens of Orbodus). Binaron is a religion based on a syncretic relationship of cosmic mysticism and order. Binaron is Pantheistic and thus worships the universe as a living entity and Binaron law as a code that all humans should live by. Binaron law is a relatively strict set of rules that Binaron's followers (known as Binaro in both singular and plural) seek to incorporate in their daily lives, such as abstinence from narcotic drugs, homosexuality, and pedophilia as examples. Most Binaro are very socially conservative and many of them are drawn to the Imperial Galacticist League which has Binaron fundamentalism as one of their policies. Binaron is popular with the Core Sector and is rarely practiced in the Outer Sector.

Minor Cults

Voidjump

Voidjump is a military cult that developed out of the Voidjumper clan and is restricted only to those very few initiated in the Voidjumper clan. Voidjump is an extension of Binaron and as such follows the same religious beliefs and laws as Binaron, however the twist is that they believe the universe grants powers to an elite cabal of humans in order to establish their dominance as enlightened humans that can only be taught to other enlightened humans. It is often said that Voidjump is far more mystical than Binaron and goes as far to claim that all major people in Binaron history were Voidjumpers since there are myths and rumors that many Binaron leaders were wielders of some mystical powers. Voidjump requires that all of its adherents swear loyalty to the universe and join the Ethos of Empire, as Voidjumpers believe that this party has great potential to establish a Binaron Imperium, as do many Binaro that support Empire.

Vaihanism

Vaihanism is a religion that follows a monotheistic path, believing in one god named Vaihan that is all-knowing and all-merciful. Vaihanism states that all adherents must not consume the flesh of animals and to treat all creatures with dignity. Most adherents are pacifists, but there remains a small strain of Vaihanism that practices violent self-defense, known as War Vaihanism. Vaihanism is more popular with planets in the Outer Sector sparsely populated. Vaihanists are almost never found in the ranks of any sort of militarized organization aside from the extremely rare case of a War Vaihanist or two in a Planetary Defense Force.

Qarih

Qarih is a bitheistic (belief in two gods) spiritual path that promotes the idea of cosmic harmony. Two halves make a whole, yin and yang, and so on. The two gods in Qarih are Remuth and Rupeth, symbolizing masculinity and femininity respectively. Remuth symbolizes virtues such as courage, stoicism, and piety while Rupeth symbolizes virtues such as kindness, charity, and order. Qarihmen, adherents to Qarih, have an option to choose either the god Remuth or the goddess Rupeth as their patron deity at the age of adulthood and must follow a life path as close as possible to the virtues whichever deity they chose as their patron deity.
