New National Motto Up For Discussion

Citizens beginning to petition for a new national motto.

Citizens have begun calling for the adoption of a new national motto. An especially passionate advocate, Melissa Rasoya, has started a petition that must gain 200,000 signatures to be introduced to the president. So far, the petition has amassed 92,644 signatures.

Proponents of adopting a new national motto argue that the current one was adopted during the country's communist reign, and keeping it would be contradictory to the President's claims to reform the nation back to a democracy.

The President expressed his disapproval of this new movement, stating during a press conference this afternoon:

I fail to find anything wrong about our nation's motto. God is not subjective to just one religion. Christianity, Judaism, Islam..."

A new motto has not been introduced and no decisions have been made. Though the President doesn't agree with changing our nation's motto, he stated that he'd keep an open mind before making any final decisions.
