Today is the second debate for our elections and today I'm playing host to our fantastic candidates @spoon and @Azell -CK/DN. Both of these guys are amazing people and either one will make a great MoFA, but who will win? Let's find out. First of all folks let's do some introductions, @spoon you start us off.

Now a tad of information for the candidates, concerning the questions there is a maximum of 10 minutes to a question, take as long or as little time as you want. The reason it's that long is in case of unforeseen circumstances.

The first question is a simple one to get us started.
Will you/what will you change to the embassy policy?
The person here is asking the two of you what you will change, if anything.

I only plan on changing one thing - the nation limit to join. I heard it was 30 before. As it is 50, I will lower it to a more reasonable amount, for example; 40.

I believe the current embassy policy is fine the way it is written currently. There must be a standard on the number of nations at at least 50 nations is sufficient. Changing it less would lower the standards we have set currently. Requirements in the current policy are good and no need to change something that isn't broken!

Azell, you mentioned that lowering the numbers lowers standards, but can't a high quality region with lower numbers still be considered? As the region I meant to be inclusive. I ask this as it was a frequent question raised back in CK.

I believe that with 50 nation requirement it sets a standard. If you go lower than that you risk going into an embassy region that might not be a stable as they appear. I believe setting the minimum at 50 is reasonable. I would even consider going a bit higher on that number if needed. I believe that Conch Kingdom needs to be selective with there embassies and strive to connect with them through events and common bonds. We can not go on just accepting everyone with no real connection between the regions.

Well, I would keep everything like it was in the past. It seemed pretty calm, in my opinion. I would try and do an event with some AA regions to keep a healthy relationship.

I believe that working with them is the best way forward. If a request is denied and it has been given a clear reason as to why its been denied the topic should be dropped. There is no need to pester or belittle them. Clear and open talks with them in a professional manner is the best approach. I currently do this and plan to continue going forward into my next term as MOFA of Conch Kingdom.

Good ideas from the both of you, but a little bit of history here. It seems that every 9 months hatred of the AA rears its head like it did last night and I'm sure many will remember the Conchexit vote 9 or so months back (three terms anyway)
But let us not dwell on dreary aspects :smile:

How have you used your job as Minister of Foreign Affairs to benefit the people of Conch Kingdom (ie. how have you used your post to set up events, or arrangements outside of embassies)?

In this term I have helped to setup the inter-regional event with The South Pacific which was a huge success. I have added two embassies one with South Pacific and one with The Free Nations region. In addition I worked with our Prime Minister to evaluate the current embassies closing a few of them that were not active any longer or not meeting our current embassy policy. In addition I have kept in touch with most of our current embassies and have even started work on a treaty with one as well. All of this is at the benefit of the region. Tightening up the ship and expanding where needed.

As A New Resident of CK, why should you be MoFA if you lack both the experience and a knowledge of the history of the region?

Good question, I understand.
However, the fact I'm new doesn't make me dumb in politics. I am determined I can do everything I promise. Everything. Host an event, open a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 embassies in my term. I don't have loads of new ideas, only one which benefits CK.

How do you plan on extending the influence of Conch Kingdom on the NS world stage?

My plan in the next term is to work to strengthen our current embassy relationships through events and treaties. In addition I would like to approach one or two more influential regions which would make sense to the embassy with. Conch Kingdom is 3rd in most endorsements overall which puts Conch Kingdom as a major player on the World Stage. I hope to use our positioning as a way to leverage relationships with both embassy regions and non-embassy regions. As many of you know I have many contacts in the NS world. I will utilize them to the fullest to ensure Conch Kingdom is well represented on the world stage.

What are your plans for an Ambassador Corps and how would you establish and promote said corps?

The first thing you need to do is find willing Ambassadors there is very few in Conch Kingdom wanting to do this. I am hoping with the influx of new nations to find some great ambassadors. The real truth as you know Merit is in the end you as MOFA has to fill those positions by doing them yourself most of the time.

An Ambassador Corps wouldn't be bad, in my opinion. I would constantly advertise to promote it. To establish the Corps, I would: discuss with the CK government and spread word about it. I would need to find some candidates to be Ambassador aswell.

Hmm you both have good ideas and many similarities. But a word of advice for Azell, you had a few ambassadors but they admitted they didn't know if they were deployed or not. Is this something you overlooked in the blinding light of events?

Yes that was a mistaken overlook on my part. This term I will ensure everyone has there assignments and check in regularly with them to get updates. If I found one place i lacked it was in that area

Overlooking assignments of ambassadors doesn't mean the regions were not checked in on. I check in on the embassy regions personally quite a bit. Everyone makes mistakes and Conch Kingdom can be ensured that it won't happen again.

As you all know it does matter. Kos and I work very well as a team together. Good chemistry in a regional government works best. I would like a PM that will give me the freedom to do my job but be there when I need advisement. This is get with the great leadership Kos provides this region!

My platform is simple Conch Kingdom needs an MOFA that has experience and connections. I provide that and more! I am dedicated to making Conch Kingdom shine in the NSGP community by strengthening current embassy relations and when needed adding influential regions to our limited list of embassies. I am experienced in making the hard choices when needed and dealing with whatever FA matters that come up. My last three months have proven beyond a doubt that I am the right choice for MOFA for Conch Kingdom!
