Retirement of Jan Podlaski (and his background)

A well known and respected member of the Rada Ludowa, and a World War One veteran, Jan Podlaski, perceived as the leader of Lada Rudowa by many, even though there is no formal position of leader, decided to retire today. He chose to do so because of, what many perceived as, poor handling of the German situation.

Jan Podlaski was born on September 22nd 1924 in a town not far from Bieldańsk and fought in World War One at age 16, sustaining many injuries, including surviving through a gas attack without a mask, and numerous other injuries, but he always returned to the front in the end. Except for the 7th of June 1942 when he had his right leg blown off by a piece of artillery, and although he didn't return to the front, he fought in the subsequent civil war after a treaty was signed with the Germans. Although he had lost his leg, he still fought in the resultng bloody conflicts, using a prosthetic leg to move around, which made him famous on the Green side of the conflict. After the civil war was over, Podlaski joined the Rada Ludowa and served as a sort of leader. He was later diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder once the term was accepted by the medical world.
