The Nuke Snuffer
The same principles that enabled the development of FTL drives also allowed the creation of the “nuke snuffer” capable of squelching nuclear explosions within a vast area. The simple, rugged, and easily-scaled technology of these nuke snuffers is standard to all TL4 worlds and any planet with significant off world commerce. A fusion plant and a basic snuffer array can quash any nuclear weapon in its range, and most developed worlds have multiple backup arrays in place.

The nuke snuffer is a simple and reliable device, designed to operate on a wide range of available power sources, from steam to solar to actual muscle-powered wheels. A building is required to house all of its components, but the diagnostic tools and large supply of spare parts that come with the snuffer allow even primitive techs to maintain it for decades on end. Provided it remains powered, it can shelter up to a eighty kilometre radius from nuclear detonations.


AI rules
Whereas expert systems such as VI can be flash-duplicated into new hardware, AI cannot. AI is highly complex and requires years of careful hand crafting to create. Every single AI requires careful hand-crafting from raw protoneural composites and quantum-sensitive substrates. The act of fixing an AI’s intelligence in a form capable of duplication would destroy the very mind it sought to replicate, in a welter of quantum state collapse and neural breakdown.

AI has a capacity for quick data processing and reasoned human judgment that would overwhelm the human brain.
AI can instantly integrate whole databases of information, making rational human decisions based on more factors than any human could possibly correlate.

AI levels of processing

Level 1: Basic AI Can process a limited amount of data and can complete simple tasks, reaction time similar to humans
(Cost of production: 1 billion credits)

Level 2: Complex AI Can process a decent amount data at any given time and is capable of completing complex tasks, fast reaction times
(Cost of production: 5 billion credits)

Level 3: Advanced AI (Can process massive amounts of data, can complete highly complex tasks, extremely fast reaction time)
(Cost of production: 8 billion credits)

Level 4: Highly Advanced AI (can process an almost unlimited amount of data, can complete highly complex tasks, almost instantaneous retraction time)

Level 5: Unbraked AI Forbidden technology no organisation or nation is permitted to remove an AIs braking code

AIs that attain human-equivalent intelligence must have certain intentional flaws, or “brakes” inserted in their code. Without this artificial forgetfulness and irrationality, an AIs mind risks fixating on unreconcilable contradictions or obsessions as it begins to grow. These “unbraked AIs” will inevitably eventually metastasize into unfathomably brilliant, immeasurably insane intellects.(DO THIS AND THE AI WILL GO ROGUE)
