🎈Yes you read right: BACK!🎈

🌻 But where have you been all this time?
Some of you have been telegramming me asking what's going on and where I have been more or less the past 5-6 months. I had a crisis of faith and decided that I need to distance myself from technology and politics for a while. For me, spirituality comes first and I felt that NationStates was holding me back, mainly for two reasons. One, having garnered such an unexpected level of popular support, it was incredibly difficult in terms of time and effort to keep up with my own political campaign which had developed the momentum of a runaway freight train. The other (arguably more important) reason is that I was so preoccupied with my own meteoric rise (as was the case at the time) that I lost touch with who I really was: a pro deregulation religious man and part-time rapper (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRDiJXvRkg4&feature=youtu.be).

🌻 OK so you're back, what are you going to do now?
I am going to be a lot more active than before and you may hear from me time to time with updates and other politically relevant material. As I said earlier, nothing about me has changed and I will continue to campaign for deregulation. Please do not misinterpret this with ludicrous and potentially libellous claims as has been done with my previous telegrams - e.g. the misguided assumption that because I am sending a mass telegram about Europe then I must be running for delegate.

🌻 Why all this talk about deregulation? What's wrong with Europe?
Europe is in crisis. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of upset telegrams I have come back to from nations concerned about Europe's future. You all seem to be concerned about the same several key issues: one, that Europe is considerably less active than it used to be. With many of the old elites gone, there are simply less people communicating and hence less opportunities to talk about what really matters. That's true for both the RMB and Discord as well as mass telegramming. This leads to the second issue: mass telegramming has changed and not for the better. We are seeing more and more telegrams about the same self-indulgent, cryptic Star Trek roleplay dribble from IA, and more unnecessary information from PLC telling us we need to vote in one of the daily revisions to Europe's laws. FYI: no on cares about how many supporting campaign telegrams we can send out in a day and what kind of punctuation is appropriate. Let's talk about the big issues: corruption, the lack of consistency and fairness with regards to punishment for offences, and just generally the lack of due process that exists for those who are accused of minor rule violations. Let's talk about the toxic sort of discourse we see regularly on the RMB, that has led to multiple unaddressed cases of defamation. Let's also talk about why IA is the only one who understands any of Europe's convoluted laws, and why we are expected to simply lay back as subjects of this nanny-state region, meanwhile Europe becomes less and less relevant by the day. Are you going to talk or are you going to be silent?

🌻 So what can I do now then?
Firstly, make sure you are endorsing me to show that you stand for a stronger, more united Europe. Next, show your support by sending me a telegram - I welcome all constructive feedback and opinions. Your voice matters so make it heard!

The Benevolent Church of Jim the Baptist

The following is an open letter to The Benevolent Church of Jim the Baptist:
________________________________________________________________________________

Jim, welcome back to Europe and thank you for your telegram. I’m sure we all are glad to hear of your efforts to regain control over your mental health and rediscover your faith. Please don’t take my lack of emojis as a sign of disrespect, I just wish to get straight to the point.

News of your recently found appetite for actively engaging in Europe again is welcome, however, the claims and comments mentioned in your recent telegram are unfounded and rather – to use your own words - ludicrous. You say assumptions of your ambition are ‘misguided’, however, such ambition is in plain sight for all of us to see.

I find it difficult to believe a nation which burst onto the European scene less than a year ago had amassed enough telegrams by fellow members of the region concerned about Europe’s future when the following are well known:

- Europe is the most influential large region, and by some margin.
- Europe’s current delegate has authored more than thirty resolutions in the World Assembly’s General and Security Council.
- European influence in the World Assembly is extremely high due to the track record of our present and previous delegates.
- Europe as a region is still an active and engaging one, eighteen years from its inception.

I need not continue arguing the case that the state of Europe is not of ‘crisis’, but of prosperity.

I invite you to read the extensive records on European law, perhaps this could be your next rap single to add to your repertoire to help newer and more apathetic nations to fully understand our history, legal system and hierarchy – which may I add more than half of the high offices of the region are directly elected by WA members. This would then extend your opinion of our delegates comprehension of our laws to yourself.

You talk about self-indulgent dribble; I find this ironic.

Finally, if you wish to express your opinion I ask and invite you to do so away from telegrams and onto a form of communication which can we witnessed publicly - unless your claim of welcoming feedback and opinions is an empty one.

Regards,

Alba-nord
