Early NU Dispatches: 'Northern Utopia: Representative Assembly' as it existed in 2017

The Representative Assembly of Northern Utopia is comprised of six Representatives*, the founder and the three Vice-Delegates.

The Assembly passes legislation for the region and deals with national problems within the region. It may also repeal the action of a cabinet minister if seven out of ten members vote in favour of repeal.

A cabinet minister is not allowed to become a Representative.

Representatives are elected to represent their island by every other nation on that island**.

There is an election for the Assembly every four months. The next election is:

NOVEMBER 15TH 2017 - NOVEMBER 20TH 2017

If you are interested in becoming a Representative, please see the pinned dispatch 'Becoming a Representative'.

*Though there are seven islands, there are only six Representatives. This is because one of the islands is home to the founder and Vice-Delegates, who sit in the parliament. For this reason, there is no Representative for the island in question because it is already represented in the Assembly.

**Northern Utopia has a regional map that puts countries on islands. To be put on the map, please telegram the founder stating the name of your country and your desire to be put on the map. You will be added to the map within five days. You can see the regional map and more information about this subject in the pinned dispatch 'Regional Map'. Once you have been added to the map, you will know which island your country is on.
