Thegye Anniversary Tourney Event: ROUND 3!

Crowds flock to the tournament ring outside the castle, just to the north of the city. All around, banners, streamers, and colorful flags flap in the wind. Adults and children alike speak in excited tones, each one looking forward to the event to come. Jugglers, musicians, and jesters roam the streets, adding an air of jolliness and gaiety to the crisp air. From the taverns, shouts and songs can be heard from the early partyers, getting their fill of the cheap beer and, for the festive anniversary occasion, wine. At the ring itself, already the seats have begun to fill up, and the guests of honor begin to arrive. Soon, only standing room will be left for the onlookers. The trumpets sound the royal fanfare as the Diarchs make their way to their thrones, wrapped in the colors of the founding houses of Thegye. Seated, the Diarchs extend their hands and signal the beginning of the second day of the tourney. Let the best warrior win!

JERHINO vs. LORD ZYTHE

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Jerhino attacks, sending a blinding volley at the Carinan. An arrow sliced into his shoulder, throwing him off balance. Breaking off the arrow and grimacing in pain, Zythe thrust forward with his short sword and cut across Jerhino's face, causing him to scream in pain. He struck out wildly with his bow, landing a stinging smack across Zythe's chest. Shrugging it off, Zythe brought his pommel down hard on Jerhino's head and pushed him to the side. Lord Zythe, the contestant from Santa Carina Wheels, wins, beating Jerhino of Noyistain!

JIHAM vs. STEVEN JAJ

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Steven, confident, thrusts his halberd at Jiham. The longer reach of the weapon causes Jiham to stumble back, receiving a blow to his shoulder. Another swift blow strikes on his left leg, but the Krotoi buckler partially deflects the blow. The Thegyan, now moving at incredible speed, uses the end of his halberd to crack across Jiham's face, leaving him writhing on the ground. As Steven looms over Jiham, the Krotoi warrior thrusts up with his blade, the tip catching Steven in the side. Grunting, Steven raises his halberd and slams the butt into Jiham's head, knocking him out cold. Steven Jaj, the contestant from Thegye wins, defeating Jiham of Peraro Krotoik!

DEFEATED BRACKET

CATRID SAV vs. YAKSIN CHEK

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Yaksin Chek stepped forward, but he was too late already. Catrid swiped across his body with her blades, literally tossing him back. As he fell to the floor, Catrid gloated over him, taunting him with insults about his mother. He weakly lifted his mace, attempting to rise. Catrid batted aside his blade and severed his head from his body with a single blow. Catrid Sav, the contestant from Noflagmaranth[/region] wins, defeating Yaksin Chek of Thegye!

THEOBALD OWLSY vs. DYRYKE

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Dyryke screams some Indian war chant and rushes at Theobald. Raising his weapon weakly, Theobald receives a deep cut to his arm, making him drop his heavy sledgehammer. Screaming in terror, he falls back, hand raised. Nothing will stop Dyryke, however, and the Hallowmossian is impaled on the Indian khopesh. Dyryke, the contestant from LollerLand wins, defeating Theobald Owlsy of Hallowmoss!

ISTILLIAN vs. KONSTANTIN V. RODZAEVSKY

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Konstantin raises his broadsword, screaming a challenge at the Australian warrior. Grimacing back at him, Istillian raises his sword. Konstantin rushes forward, but Istillian sidesteps him and slashes at his heels. Stumbling a moment, the Cothernite spins around and hacks at Istillian, cutting deep into his neck. The Australian gurgles, falling to the side, dead. Konstantin V. Rodzaevsky, the contestant from Cothern wins, defeating Istillian of Istillian!

RAASHID vs. MAX MOONSHINE

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins.

Raashid, knowing Max's reputation, approaches him warily. Taking care, he pokes at him with his blade. Receiving no reaction, Raashid turns around to look at the referee, who shrugs. As he turns back, Max drunkenly lifts his hammer and bashes it across Raashid's head, dazing him. Only for a moment, however, as Raashid runs his iron spear through Max's stomach. Looking surprised, he muttered something and then fell back, dead. Raashid, the contestant from Almaaz wins, defeating Max Moonshine of Ellenburg!

As the last contestants leave the ring, the crowd begins to disperse. Soon, the Diarchs rise, announce that the final round of the tourney will take place tomorrow morning, and depart for the ensuing feast. The rest of the crowd leaves, some heading home, others to parties, and still others to the taverns to celebrate wins or losses. All in all, everyone has enjoyed the second day of the tourney and many look forward to the events tomorrow!
