Thegye Anniversary Tourney Event: FINALS!

Crowds flock to the tournament ring outside the castle, just to the north of the city. All around, banners, streamers, and colorful flags flap in the wind. Adults and children alike speak in excited tones, each one looking forward to the event to come. Jugglers, musicians, and jesters roam the streets, adding an air of jolliness and gaiety to the crisp air. From the taverns, shouts and songs can be heard from the early partyers, getting their fill of the cheap beer and, for the festive anniversary occasion, wine. At the ring itself, already the seats have begun to fill up, and the guests of honor begin to arrive. Soon, only standing room will be left for the onlookers. The trumpets sound the royal fanfare as the Diarchs make their way to their thrones, wrapped in the colors of the founding houses of Thegye. Seated, the Diarchs extend their hands and signal the beginning of the second day of the tourney. Let the best warrior win!

LORD ZYTHE vs. STEVEN JAJ

The two warriors enter the ring to loud cheering and applause. Each makes his way before the royal platform and bows deeply to the Diarchs. Then, at the signal of the referee, the fight begins. The undefeated Zythe warily stares down the brawny Jaj. The Carinan experimentally swings his short sword. His prowess with the blade is, so far, uncontested. Steven, however, is a brawny man, and his reach with the polearm in his hands was, as yet, indomitable. However, Zythe determines to win, no matter what.

The first move comes from Zythe, who speeds forward to strike a blow. Knocking aside Steven's halberd, he slashed forwards, cutting across the Thegyan's face. Stumbling back, Steven drops his guard. Roaring, Zythe slashed down this time, striking Steven on the shoulder and knocking the man to his knees. The Thegyan, unable to get up without opening his defenses more, grabbed Zythe around the waist, hoisting him into the air and tackling him to the ground. Pinned to the sandy surface of the tourney ring, Zythe couldn't defend himself properly. Steven pounded at his head with closed fists. Grunting with each blow, Zythe scrambled on the ground with his hands, trying desperately to grab something, anything. He felt something wooden... the broken haft of the halberd came into his grasp. Baring his teeth defiantly, he smashed the wood into Steven's side, tossing him to the left. Scrambling up, Zythe brought the wood down hard onto Steven's head, splintering it. The crowd rose to its feet, cheering at the honorable display of might.

Lord Zythe, the contestant from Santa carina wheels, wins, beating Steven Jaj of Thegye!

As the match ends, the Diarchs rise to cheers and applause from the crowd. Below them, in the ring Lord Zythe stands, victorious. The Diarchs raise their hands. "This warrior has shown great prowess and skill against the best warriors our world has to offer! Let it be known that Lord Zythe is the new Founders Champion of Thegye!" The crowd roars in approval and Zythe is lifted on the shoulders of enthusiastic fans.
