    THIALREN ARMED FORCES

The Thialren Armed Forces (Thialren: Eskaril Qhaganicus et Thelranica, lit. Imperial Army of Thialrer) is the combined military force of Thialrer. It is composed of six branches: the Thialren Land Forces, the Thialren Naval Forces, Thialren Celestial Forces, Thialren Maritime Infantry Forces, Thialren Special Forces, and the Thialren Air Forces. The primary function of the Thialren Armed Forces, according to its mission statement, is to "safeguard and defend the Khaganate, her people, and her interests." This has been interpreted, in recent times, to guarding Thialrer's borders from outsiders and insurgents alike. The Khagan of Thialrer is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, holding the rank of Supreme Commander, and forms military policy with the Ministry of Defence.

    MISSION

The Armed Forces' mission is defined by its mission statement in Part 2, Chapter 3, Section 5, Paragraph 8 of the Armed Forces Act 2021:

"The mission of the reformed Thialren Armed Forces henceforth is to safeguard and defend the Khaganate, her people, and her interests."

Outside of this mission statement, the following goals have been commonly outlined as the Armed Forces' objectives:

  • Defend Thialrer's borders from foreign threats,

  • Maintain peace in Thialrer,

  • Maintain peace in client organizations, and

  • Monitor the space around Thialrer for active or inactive threats.

    CHAIN OF COMMAND

The Armed Forces are lead first and foremost by the Supreme Commander, who is designated as the reigning Khagan. Immediately below the Supreme Commander is the Minister of Defence and the Chairman of the Commanders-General, the civilian and military components of the Armed Forces, respectively. The overall high command structure of the Armed Forces is referred to as HIGHCOM (High Command).

The Chairman of the Commanders-General and the Vice Chairman of the Commanders-General are military officers who lead the Council of Commanders-General, which consists of the Commanders-General, who lead each branch of the Armed Forces.

    PERSONNEL

The Eskaril is currently a fully professional military. Thialrer enforces active conscription for those aged 18, but allows provisions for conscientious objection and other reasons not to be conscripted. Additionally, those drafted are permitted to choose which branch they go into, and indeed whether they go into reserve service or not. All military branches and positions are open to female recruits with equal required qualifications for both men and women. The Eskaril employs Enlisted Officers, Commissioned Officers, and Flag Officers, with specialized ranks being present in each armed force.
