MBT-69/ESL

While the MBT-69 is a fearsome weapon of war, by the Third Great Supple Rebellion it was starting to show its age, especially in the armor department. Emmerquet and Nurth Supple Lundians rebels made frequent use of IEDs and anti-tank rockets, causing heavy damage to the vehicles. After the war, Greater Supple Lund contacted North Armatas for an up armoring kit, as the volatility in The Austro Germanic Union meant that up armoring kits were no longer readily available. The addition of ERA, composite side skirt armor and heavy floor armor is expected to significantly increase the operational effectiveness of both the 120mm and 140mm variant of the tank (The 152mm cannon-missile launcher variant still far to unreliable to enter active military service)

In addition to the armor upgrades, Greater Supple Lund has also developed the BRUH-42 APS (Active Protection System), a lightweight, modular brick that can be attached to any flat surface of the tank. Designed to be used in conjunction with ERA, it protects the vehicle in a 180 degree arc, with a response time of less then 0.1 seconds. While very effective in its intended role, each module only has enough ammunition for a single shot, meaning the system must be reloaded or replaced after firing. It also has no IFF at all, meaning it will engage any incoming threat regardless of who is next to the vehicle. Curiously, it also means the weapon can be used as a last ditch anti-infantry device.

The SVBT-69A1, based off the hull of the already rather successful MBT-69 is designed as a heavy infantry fighting vehicle. It is armed with a twin 30mm auto cannon, 4 anti-tank or anti-air missile launchers and a single 50 caliber machine gun. It is designed to deal with a variety of threats within an urban or otherwise difficult environment. When deployed in urban settings, two of these are used to guard the MBT-69, while in more open areas, 2 MBT-69s guard this vehicle. It is as heavily armored as the tank and can also equip APS if needed.
