Getting Involved in The Rejected Realms - becoming a Citizen and Joining the Executive

Guide by Visionary Union and Agalaesia

Getting Started

Starting out in NationStates and the Rejected Realms can be confusing at first. The good news is that it's easy to start off with, and there are several ways to apply yourself. Firstly, let's start off with the easiest one: joining the regional LinkDiscord Server. Discord is basically Skype or any other messaging service, and it's where a lot of our regional activity takes place! In the discord you can meet and talk with all members of the government, as well as the Rejected Regional Army (our regional army, duh!), and members of the Rejected Times, our regional newsletter. In addition to the government members, most active citizens are also inside the discord and you can talk to them as well. Next, you should sign up to our forums - this is where a lot of governmental and executive activity happens. You can sign up Linkhere.

A second way to influence the region is by becoming a citizen by applying on the forums Linkhere. Make sure your nation in the region is still active. Once your application is accepted, you can vote on and propose your own legalistion in the assembly, as well as gaining the right to vote and run in our elections.

Joining the Executive

Usually, most regional careers start with an application to a certain governmental department or organisation. Here you will find details on what each government run department or organisation does and how to apply to join each. Usually, your application will be processed within 24 hours. Most people are accepted.

Governmental Departments

Outreach

If you enjoy running events, writing or speaking to people, then outreach is for you. Outreach does multiple things, like run RMB awards, try to increase endorsements on the delegate by running endorsement dispatches and events, write guides and mentor new people, all to serve the goal of getting people involved!

Culture

Culture is all about running festivals and events for camaraderie and friendship. Think of culture as a sort-of NS event management, but with more fun and less bureaucracy. Some of the major events planned by culture include Rejectmas, The Reject Awards and some major festivals, like Harry Potter and the Festival of Friends!

World Assembly

The World Assembly office handles the WA voting process to democratically decide the region's vote! The office also authors the Rejected Realms' recommendations so that voters are informed. The office also occasionally runs drafting programs to get people involved!

Foreign Affairs

Interested in representing the region abroad? Interested in writing updates to inform the world about what's going on in the Rejected Realms? Then the Foreign Affairs Office is for you! In the FA Office, you are assigned to represent TRR abroad in other regions, posting updates and becoming familiar with other regional communities!

Other Departments

Non-governmental organisations, for the purpose of this dispatch, are defined as departments that are not operated by the Rejected Realms' government. More information about them can be found below.

The Rejected Times

The Rejected Times is one of the oldest and most read newsletters on NationStates. Founded in 2011, The Times epitomises journalistic success on NationStates, and publishes content more frequently than most other newspapers. The Rejected Times is editorially independent from the government, and the content is writer-lead, meaning you can pick and choose what you want to write about.

The Rejected Realms Army

The Rejected Realms Army is one of the most prestigious defender armies in NationStates. It defends regions from raiders, and empowers people who reside in the regions to make their own decisions.
