Military Modernization and Enlargement Act of 2021 (Passed)

Bill to modernize, upgrade, and retire equipment to create a more capable military force

I. General Info

1. Introduced by the Member of Parliament Justina Christian 05/29/2021

2. This bill shall be also known as the "Modernization and Enlargement Act of 2021".

II. Preamble

WHEREAS Military equipment in the Joyean Armed Forces is aging and has begun to malfunction or otherwise fail.

WHEREAS The Joyean Military forces defending the Capital City [JOYEA CITY] reported constant failure of faulty aging equipment.

WHEREAS Some aging military equipment of Joyea has reached over 70 years of age.

WHEREAS The Joyean Military forces deployed to Syria reported equipment being ineffective against rebel, Turkish, Osean, and Roman forces.

HENCE IS IT NECESSARY to enact the following measures:

III. Legislation

1. This Bill shall authorise the retirement or modernization of aircraft older than 30 years, ships older than 15 years, artillery older than 20 years, engineering vehicles older than 30 years, tanks older than 10 years, APCs/Other armored vehicles older than 10 years, radars and communications equipment older than 5 years, individual equipment/firearms older than 3 years, other land vehicles older 15 years, and other equipment older than 7 years, and all Ratnik equipment.

2. This Bill shall authorise the development of new military, primarily personal equipment, artillery, and ships.

3. This Bill also authorises the Ministry of Defense to order the construction of large equipment development, production, or storage area's as they see fit.

4. This Bill authorizes the forced conscription of 14 million personnel for the Joyean Army and Air Corp, 10 million for the Navy and 4 million for the Nuclear Command and the addition of 400,000-2 million troops added to all other branches.

7. This Bill also authorises the construction of 400-1,000 additional bases for each military branch.

9. This Bill shall authorise the construction of a large coastal defense facility.

10. This Bill will Cease to Effect on the Twenty Ninth day of the month of May in the year of 2025 A.D.
