Chapter 2: Muda

From Princess Daisy’s private journal.

Our newest turist attraction, you can visit the half submerged cities or you can dive into the sea and explore the ruins of the, once splendorous technological and philosophical, heart of Sarasaland.

There is not much left of the pre war Muda. That is right, before the attack of Tatanga to my nation, this was the most populated and most advanced region of my nation and pearhaps the world.

Several city-states were located in Muda, full of universities and librarys dedicated to every branch of science and magic imaginable. The reason of that is tied to the origins of the Kingdom. Back then one little university started to study the painting and piramids of Birabuto, and then that university grow and grow, spawning the creation of more universities in the region, along other institutions dedicated to the sciences.

I have been given education in the Royal Institute of Muda, where only people of the nobility where allowed. Peach went there too, but she has forbide to anyone to talk about it for some reason. There are rumors that Bowser and Namek went there too, but since all the records were destroyed in the sinking of Muda, there is no way to confirm that, but i think there is some truth in that rumor.

There is little to remeber in my formative years, i was given the award of the most talented and the pupil with best grades in the Institute. But i dont lie to myself, i am aware they knew some day i would became Queen and pearhaps they feared a future revenge on them. Sadly their cowarly actions did not protected them from the tragedy that occurred.

The sinking of Muda was the biggest tragedy in the history of Sarasaland. Not only countless lives were lost, but also all the knowledge of our civilization was there, most of it were destroyed.

In part that is the reason of why so little is known about my country. It was a mistake to concentrate all the culture of a civilization in one place. But what is done, it is done.

But i got to admit there is more about the sinking. As i said, the war was the reason of that, and yes Tatanga has a level of responsability on it of course, Muda was the starting point of his invasion, but that is not entirely truth.

And this is one of the momments that separates me from the rest of the peope. Because the destruction of Muda was a tragedy, but also it saved my nation. I mourn the death of the innocents, but i will not change my mind about it. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

I Princess Daisy of Sarasaland have spoken.
