Government of Turkistan
The Government of Turkistan is the federal government of Turkistan. The executive branch of the government is led by the president (currently Akhmet Erzhanov), who selects the prime minister and all the other ministers. The prime minister is subject to parliamentary confidence The country has had an New Turkistan-led caretaker government since 2021 following a vote of no confidence in the government. The prime minister and the most senior ministers belong to the executive decision-making committee, known as the Cabinet.
The legislative branch is composed of the bicameral Parliament, composed of a Senate and National Assembly. The Prime Minister is responsible to the Assembly, with the Assembly being able to oust the government through a successful vote of no confidence. Elections for the Assembly typically occur five years after the previous elections, but may occur sooner if the president declares a snap election or the Assembly votes in favour of one. Elections for the Senate are staggered and occur once every two years. The National Assembly is presided over by a Speaker, currently Qodir Ulfatov of New Turkistan. The Senate is presided over by a Chair, currently Zulfiya Nabiyeva of New Turkistan.
The Supreme Court of Turkistan is the final court of appeal in Turkistan.
