MINDFUL of the need to establish firm cooperation in Melayu Archipelago;

CONSCIOUS of the existence of other species of sentient beings outside of Melayu Archipelago;

CONSIDERING that the countries of Melayu Archipelago share the responsibility of maintaining the stability of the region;

COMMITTED to ensuring Melayu Archipelago as a safe haven for the human species;

DO HEREBY DECLARE:

FIRST, the establishment of an Inter-Regional Association among the countries of Melayu Archipelago to be known as the Association of Melayu Archipelago Nations (AMAN).

SECOND, that the purposes of the Association shall be:
1. To preserve Melayu Archipelago as a safe haven for the human species;
2. To maintain peace and stability;
3. To promote cooperation on matters of common interest;
4. To uphold human rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of association, and equality for all of its citizens

THIRD, that the following shall be established to carry out these purposes,
(a) AMAN Summit, an Annual Meeting of Heads of State or Government of the Member States, which shall be by rotation.
(b) AMAN Secretariat, under the chairmanship of a Secretary-General which shall be appointed by the AMAN Summit for a non-renewable term of office of five years.
