Paziano
The Ecclesiastical Kingdom of Paziano, commonly called Paziano, is a absolute monarchy in Nonscio. It is bordered on the north by Sicilianzo, on the south by Izaba, by the east by Sicilianzo (Maritime border and land border) and on the west by Open sea. NATION has an estimated population of 33,263,000 people. Paziano comprises of 14 provinces.
Paziano has little influence in the world, although they are trying to expand what influence they have by becoming more active in world affairs and less isolationist than in the past. King Ferrante II has led the Pazianoan peoples well, gifting them luxuries acquired by international trade.
The National name is commonly derived from two sources:
1) The first king of United Paziano, King Pazia the Great. He had fully unified Paziano by 1804 and had ended the wrath of a brutal state known as Tuzzaro.
2) The Arraziano tribe of classical times. They were ruthless and barbaric, sacking enemy cities without haste.
—————
The standard way to refer to a citizen of Paziano is as a "Pazianoan."
In the year 1801, local Puppet Duke Pazia declared his kingdom of Paziano independent from the Tuzzaro Empire. After three years of bloody combat, in which 800,000 were killed, Paziano defeated all opposition and became the sole rulers of the former Tuzzaro state. After two centuries of political isolation, a new king was throned. Ferrante I, coronated in 2004, ended the long period of no contact with the outside world. Even though he died in 2019, his legacy lives on in his son, Ferrante II. The second king to carry the Ferrante name, he boosted military strength and began stockpiling weapons and naval ships. Today, in 2032, he continues to provide his duty to serve the people.
Surrounded and crossed by major mountain chains and with few (but fertile) plains, Paziano has a relief that is dominated by hilly country used for agriculture. Hills make up nearly two-thirds (66.5%) of the region's total area, and mountains (of which the highest are the Apennines), a further 25%. Plains occupy 8.4% of the total area—mainly around the valley of the Arvicci.
The climate is fairly mild in the coastal areas, and is harsher and rainy in the interior, with considerable fluctuations in temperature between winter and summer,[11] giving the region a soil-building active freeze-thaw cycle, in part accounting for the region once having served as a key breadbasket of Tuzzaro.

Language
Apart from standard Sicilian, the Pazian dialect (dialetto Pazano) is spoken in Pazanio. The Sicilian language is based historically on literary Pazian, specifically the Tusaratine dialect. It became the language of culture for all the people of Sicilianzo, despite being spoken by just minor tribes in ancient Paziano and Sicilianzo. It would later become the official language of all the Valsoran Italian based states and of the Kingdom of Sicilianzo, when it was formed.
Religion
The majority of Pazianoans are Sanguis Catholic, at 98%. Muslim minorities are common in the south, although they only make up 2% of the total populace.
Sanguis Catholicism is a violent blend of Crazy Valsoran religions and real world Catholic traditions. The heavily enforced rule of no divorce is common, yet is almost never protested against. There are a few quirks to Pazianoan Sanguis that sometimes don’t matter- or they are incredibly influential. One of the minor rules is that one must fold hands in this manner whilst praying; 🙏. A large rule change that really bursts out at you is that people must attend two church services each week ( for regular weeks and holy weeks). These days are on Sunday and Thursday. Holy Week can shuffle things around a little, but I won’t cover that for now.
Race
The Pazian race is described as follows:
Genetically, Pazianoan people have black hair (although you are bound to find some exceptions), brown eyes, and are taller and muscular. Women share these characteristics, but tend to be shorter than the average male. One tourist described Pazianoan men as ‘strong, physically adept, and about three to six inches taller than the world median’.

The king of Paziano is the nominal head of state, and presides over and absolute monarchy. The king has control over all state affairs in diplomacy, military, war, economy, you name it. He designates a pen heir whenever plausible, and the heir succeeds the king after his death. The king rules throughout his entire lifespan (after he is coronated, of course). Sometimes, the Queen of Paziano assists the king in ruling, most often when there is a boy king on the throne and the old queen is left without a husband.

The culture of Paziano is one that has a rich and vibrantly successful history, as it was the birthplace of the Tuzzaro Renaissance. Poets like Michael Alighira and Dante Lareda. The astronomy and mathematical sector of knowledge was not ignored, either. Many Pazianoan scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, and astrologists were enlightened during this period. Even after the Renaissance faded, it’s ideals continued to linger around in the culture of Paziano today.
The industrial sector is dominated by mining, given the abundance of underground resources. Also of note are textiles and clothing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, steel and metalworking, glass and ceramics, and printing and publishing. Smaller areas specialising in manufacturing and craft industries are found in the hinterland: the leather and footwear area in the south-west part of the province of Northern Lozano, the hot-house plant area in Amalfi Coast, the ceramics and textile industries in the Ducca area, scooters and motorcycles in Evicci, and the processing of timber for the manufacture of wooden furniture in the Roscany area.
Energy
Most of the energy is Paziano is reusable, with hydroelectric and geothermal generating the highest amount of energy. Geothermal fissures and cracks are common throughout the nation; public spas are a trademark feature of many cities. But back to energy, oil and coal are still used, but mostly on the island of Evicci. Evicci, also the poorest out of all thirteen districts, uses the most non renewable power in all of Paziano. Windmills are placed in gigantic farms on federal property, generating energy all across the kingdom. Solar power, not as common, is used on houses and other private buildings. Panels cover the rooftops and, in rare cases, the hidden- but still visible to the sun- parts of the house.
