Soviet Era Vosdonia (1921-1991)

In 1921 the recently revolutionised Vosdonia was accepted into the soviet union, changing its name to the Vosdonian Soviet Socialist Republic, and changing its capital to Zhania, as a clean slate from Murdovia and with better access to the sea. During its early years in the Soviet Union, Vosdonia suffered instability as nobility, landowners and business people resisted sacrificing their power. In 1924 a revolution was staged by them, however this failed, and caused major issues throughout the republic. Many former Bourgeoise were rounded up, their assets taken and their imprisonment in labour camps as a consequence for their evils.

In later years (1927-1935) Vosdonia calmed down, no longer seizing private property, and following other SSR's movements. Mass industrialisation was introduced in 1928, and by 1930 many major factory's, trains and other industrial inventions had made their place in Vosdonias economy. Because of this rapid economic growth the population boomed, and Murdovia became the first city to hit a population of 1 million, and it became the centre of Vosdonias economy. In 1935 the Greater Vosdon Transport system was put into action, planning to build canals, trains and major roads between all of Vosdonias major city's and the greater Soviet Union.

In 1941, along with the rest of the Soviet Union, Vosdonia went to war with the German Reich joining WWII. Vosdonia mostly provided a place for refugees and military bases, its mountain ranges gave the area great defence and only a small, sparsely populated part of its far west was ever invaded. Vosdonia was pushed to the limits however its new Industrial sector had a hard time keeping up with the war effort, and mass immigration of refugees caused further strain on the economy. After the war the population and economy took a rapid, and wouldn't recover until the 1960's.

In the 60's Vosdonia had another economic and population growth, as well as the growth of its culture, and politics. Whilst it missed the nuclear arms race Vosdonia was well prepared for the space race, and used its massive iron ore and petroleum deposits to greatly contribute to race. Vosdonias liberalism also allowed it to become a centre of multiple movements including LGBTQIA+ Rights, An end to Racism and An end to Sexism. It was internationally renown for its forward thinking and rapid economic development.

Throughout the 70's and 80's Vosdonia remained successful. It continued to be a centre of political growth and despite it small military helped greatly in the cold war. Its economy had a gradual growth and its citizens happiness and HDI were very high. Unemployment and Homelessness reached record lows and Vosdonias Culture grew massively as it became a leader in the Entertainment and Technology industry's. However Vosdonia was heavily reliant on Soviet society and government, and when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Vosdonia was last to leave and had the worst yet to come.
