Vote For GA resolution In-Ovo Sexing of Chicks
Resolution Analysis
Overview
The resolution refers to the practice of "chick culling": unwanted (usually male) chicks of egg-breeding species (as well as ducks, goose etc) are usually killed in the intensive animal farming industry as male chicks do not lay eggs. Instead of killing chicks, it advocates in favour of new technologies that figure out the sex of the eggs before they hatch, called "in-ovo sexing".
Recommendation
We believe in the new technologies promoted by this sensible resolution to avoid unnecessary suffering by certain animals (primarily avian species) and at minimal cost towards farmers engaged in industrial farming, and thus not putting pressure on food costs.
For the above reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote For the General Assembly Resolution at vote, "In-Ovo Sexing of Chicks".
