Federal Police of Estandé
Federal Police of Estandé
The Federal Police (Estandér: Polícia Federal) is the principal federal law enforcement agency of the Kingdom of Estandé with jurisdiction across the country. Federal Police work with regional police in maintaining Estandér internal peace and security. However, most field officers of the Federal Police are assigned to rural areas or distritos rurais with an exception for the Metropolitan Police of Estrada; the sole police force responsible for Estrada Federal Metropolitan Region. Usually, overall law enforcement is carried out by regional police. The Federal Police also works closely with the Royal Intelligence Agency through the Secretariat of National Information and Intelligence.
The Federal Police is directly subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Administration, and has three child agencies: the Federal Highway Police (Polícia Rodoviária Federal; PRF), the Federal Railroad Police (Polícia Ferroviária Federal; PFF), and the Metropolitan Police of Estrada (Polícia Metropolitana de Estrada; PME). Jurisdictions of these agencies are restricted in their respective assigned areas. The PRF is the largest agency and is tasked with patrolling and fighting crime on federal roads and highways; the PFF is responsible for railway station and train security; the PME is the police force of Estrada Federal Metropolitan Region but is also tasked with the protection of government buildings. The Federal Police itself is small and is mainly an administrative agency with major functions relegated to its child agencies, although, these child agencies are given relative independence from its parent agency.
