FAQs for TST

1. Who can join?
   Anyone! We accept people and nations of all different walks of life, whether you’re new to Satanism, just curious about our values, or a long-time member. You don’t have to be a real-life Satanist to join! We also love having a mix of experiences and backgrounds, we welcome everyone from newcomers with their first nation to seasoned NS vets who’ve been playing for several years.

2. How do I become a citizen?
   Citizenship is optional, you can feel free to hang out with us as a resident only, but becoming a citizens grants you more access with full voting and political rights. Luckily, becoming a citizen is easy! Just have a nation in The Satanic Temple and go through the Process of Dedication, which you can read about here in the Citizenship How-To.

3. What are TST's values?
   Our values are simple to understand. We recognize the harm traditional religion has done to our society, and seek a religion of empathy, compassion, and rationality - not superstition, jealousy, and wrath. This is a nondenominational organization, but we are based on the real-life Satanic Temple and we follow The Seven Tenets, which can be found HERE.

4. Do you worship Satan and promote evil?
   No and no. We do not believe in the supernatural and we reject superstition. We do not perform ritualistic sacrifice, promote or encourage acts of evil or malfeasance, nor do we even believe that a real Satan even exists. Satan, to us, is simply a symbolic act of blasphemy, standing in opposition to tyrannical and arbitrary authority.

5. Age restrictions?
   None! Religious freedom applies to all people of all ages. Oftentimes, traditional religion is forced on children without their consent. Children are a vulnerable group of people that are often denied personal freedom and spiritual and bodily autonomy beyond reason. We recognize their right to their own selves, and as such, have no age restrictions apart from site rules. All are welcome.

6. Can I join if I have different beliefs?
   Yes! We welcome all people into TST. You can hold your own supernatural or spiritual beliefs, but just keep in mind that TST is a non-theistic, non-supernatural religion. The only requirement is that you support TST’s mission and values.

7. This goes against my beliefs!!
   We don’t care. Actually, that’s a lie. We do care. Actually, that’s the entire point. The Satanic Temple actively engages in acts of blasphemy as an important part of our religion, and vocal declaration of freedom, liberty, and independence from harmful religious norms. If you are offended by Satanism or Satanic imagery, good - that is a sign of a job well-done.
