2024 Roleplay Welcome Dispatch

Welcome to 2024 Roleplay Region. This is a region built around semi-realistic roleplay within a modern setting currently on a second iteration that started on 2024 in universe.

New players may find themselves unsure on how to join and begin roleplaying along with other questions. This Factbook will tell you all you need to know.

    Step 1: Choosing a Nation

You'll need to choose a nation if you wish to join the roleplay. Some nations have already been taken by other players so the best way to find out which nations are available is to check the map. On the map player nations will have coloured overlays, non-player nations that are available will look the same as they would on any google map. You'll also notice nations that have grey overlays. These are Ghosts which mean they formerly had players which either left, became inactive or CTE'd. Choosing a ghost nation mean's you'll have to respect your predecessors roleplay. If you wish to be something other than a nation like a company or rebels then please contact the administrator.

    Step 2: Making that nation
Now that you got a nation chosen you can play as it, but not just yet you need an NS account for it. Not just any old larp, gameplay or puppet storage account either. You'll need to create an entirely new account in order to play basing that Account off your chosen nation.

Include: a flag that represents your nation, Your countries official name and a signifier attached to the end of the name that shows you belong to this roleplay such as "Modern RP", "2020's RP" or "2024 RP" and accurate facts for currency and national animal. Your classification and Stats do not matter nor does anything that might be affected by the latter. Ghost players should imitate their predecessors nation and/or the name of the ghost on the map.

For Example Iran 2024 roleplay. It has the official flag of Iran, it has the official name "Iran" not "Persia" and it has 2024 Roleplay attached to the end of the name.

Note: Minor detraction such as having the name be "Islamic Republic of Iran 2024 RP" does not matter as it still has "Iran" so other players know which nation you are and it also has "2024 RP" that shows your in the rp.

You'll be able to change your account as you roleplay. For Example if you roleplayed Germany having a new constitution you could then change the flag per the constitution so long as its realistic.

    Step 3: Joining the Region
Now that you are all set join the region, introduce yourself and feel free to ask any questions. Ping the Administrator so they can add you to the map and other resources. Make sure to read the other dispatches and of course the rest of this one!

How we Roleplay
Congratulations if you have completed the previous steps you are now set to roleplay. There are a couple of things you'll need to know to know first though.

In order to distinguish between different forms of roleplay and general chit chat we use a "Reboot In Character"(RIC) system. This involves putting one of the "RIC" types at the beginning of your rp post. This also helps us find RP easily in the search bar simply by typing "RIC" or one of its derivatives. Previously we used "IC" but it has been changed to RIC for the reboot.

RIC: Short for in character this is most times when you want to roleplay.

RPIC: Short for "Past Reboot In Character" PRIC is used when you want to roleplay something in the past. Generally you can't roleplay something in the past in order to gain yourself an advantage in the present, its primarily used during story arc's or when continuing an rp that is behind the current rp time. Ask a RP moderator if you are unsure.

MIC: Moderators will sometimes need to roleplay as a mod instead of as a player. MIC is used in these cases.

SRIC: "Secret Reboot in character" this is for when your making a roleplay post that's more secretive in universe and thus other players shouldn't know about without roleplaying a discovery.

ORIC: "Out of reboot in Character" is for when your making a roleplay post but want mod approval for it.
Other Terms
Here are some other terms that we use within the roleplay.

OOC: "Out of character", this means any talk on the RMB that isn't actual roleplay. You can simply talk without needing to put OOC at the front. It can be added at the end of a Roleplay Post if you plan to add than OOC section after.

IRL: "In real life" self explanatory.

IRP: "In the roleplay" also self-explanatory.
