About Lacia (Remake)
Remade 21st of April, 2026…is a medium-sized region with a long history. Starting in the original Roses Without Thorns founded by Tyra melin and Plajevo, it was once NationStates' largest frontier on the website (more than 600 nations), Lacia prides itself on once posessing a lively community with a thriving roleplay scene, led by a collective of passionate, diverse nations. That was all ended when the region was raided by Rosartemis (Rosacorp). The region shattered to pieces like a broken plate. Many of those pieces merged into 2 main regions “Aspen” and “RWOT” (acronym for “Roses Without Thorns”), many becoming much smaller regions mostly independent from the the original community such as “Astellaria”, with the original region being kept private as a "trophy", but of those other regions, only Astellaria acknowledges New Lacia as the sole successor, see June 2025 Astellaria-New Lacia agreement by

XXURBANXX.The word Lacia originated from either Tyra Melin or Plajevo, a shortened nickname for Roses Without Thorns sometime in early 2024. Within the region, players referred to the community as “Lacia” instead of Roses Without Thorns.
The two primary goals of New Lacia are to firstly restore its community once taken to its former glory, and secondly maintain and secure that community so that harmonious relations can exist and be sustained by a representative administration elected by the citizenry, making Lacia shine like a beacon of prosperity and culture among other regions.
As it stands, the Lacian community as a whole possesses approximately 150 nations across all regions, 4/5ths residing between Astellaria and New Lacia. Astellaria has experienced a gradual but slow decline in population as it has shifted its focus to Discord. The region also has an off-site roleplay forum, and aegedly its own Hearts of Iron IV mod in the works. New Lacia remains focused on the main NationStates, though it has two Discord servers, promotes a public Minecraft server, and roleplays on its RMB and a dedicated on-site forum thread. New Lacia’s population is relatively small, remaining in the low 20s but increasing at a slow and inconsistent rate. Impressively, New Lacia boasts very high activity per individual resident compared to Astellaria, giving it similar activity levels overall.
New Lacia is a representative region where registered citizens elect a Prime Censor and a legislature called the Chamber of Deputies proportionate to the total residency of citizens within the region. The Prime Censor is the sole executor, functionally equivalent to a President and traditionally equivalent to a Roman Censor. Censors are a type of magistrate whom are charged with a specific group of responsibilities more-so than a modern President. Prime Censors have near-absolute power in their responsibilities but serve short terms of 2 months, and can quickly be removed. Similarly, the Censor is subordinate to the Prime Censor, appointed by him or her to represent the internal desires of the civilian populace. Like the Prime Censor his or her powers are also near-absolute, but he serves only as long as his Prime Censor. He is also the head of the Chamber of Deputies and is the one to pass legislation from the Deputies.
