Flers 2026 🥰 💚💛

Hello everyone, my name is Flers-Douai, known as Flers on tha RMB, and I’m running for a position on the Regional Council in TEP. I want to make work of this because I wish for my points to be clear and straight to the point! Without further ado, here’s your “why” as it relates to me.

My main point 😊

I joined NationStates just over four years and two months ago, born and raised in The East Pacific. From the get go I didn’t really understand the nuances and atmosphere of this site, so now I have a lot of cringy and weird posts to look back on. But I grew with this community and I’ve never looked away from it. NationStates is an amazing pastime of mine, yes, but truly I don’t think I would be here if it weren’t for the extraordinary and entertaining community that I was founded in. The discourse that takes place here and the culture surrounding the friendships and RMB roleplay was what really kept me here for so long, four whole years of my life. Nothing can be offered, in my opinion, in any other region like it can be in The East, even if that sounds cheesy.

…Having gone through the awkward stage of growth throughout my tenure in this region, I know that I will be a good fit for the RMB council especially as it pertains to welcoming new members of the region and helping them feel accommodated in order to foster a new period of growth in regional population and bolster RMB activity. Many new nations are confused by the site or what’s going on, and if they wish to stay, it’s up to the council to make them feel at home. This can be done not just by throwing textwalls in their faces but by in general mitigating hostility towards fledglings, even if that “hostility” is just jokes, because scaring away new members is not what we want, obviously 😘

It’s definitely on the minds of a lot of people here, but with the loss of quite a few significant members over the last year or so, activity on the RMB seems to be slower. The question of the day initiatives by Lionsroar have been incredibly helpful, and I hope to work extensively with them and other government members to start up more regional programs to improve activity and promote nation’s interests.

”In conclusion!”

Overall, my connection to the East Pacific is that, throughout my high school years, where nerding out about topics such as history or geography was subject to social isolation, this region could help express my interests with a community of people who shared said interests. I hope that with the help of fellow RMB council members and the wider region, we can bring people who come the same positive experience, whether that be through regional polls, games, and other events.

That’s really all I have. It’s short and probably not enough, but it gets what I think across 😃
