Radical Theory

Historical roots of ideology
The 'Radical Theory of Arab Socialism' began as a pamphlet written by future president Sayyid Qutb as a critique of western capitalist norms and values. The critique centered around a simple question: "where do we want to go as a nation?", his answer was as elementary as the question itself: back to basics and from there we shall rebuild the nation according to the principles of pan-Arabism and socialism. Qutb's ideas of socialism have been copied by many fellow Islamists as an ideal concept which contrains the excesses of Islamism and Wahhabism and provides for a secular state where wealth is equally divided and religious strife and tribal conflicts can be contained to a certain degree. Radical Theory rejects religious intervention into the state but embraces religion was a social value for people to constrain themselves. In recent years, the secular nature of Radical Theory has been emphasized to a greater degree which culminated into the state dropping all references to Islamism and embraced a deist or in some cases, atheist policy in relation to economic and social issues. This is part is an ongoing process of de-Islamizing the state and coincides with a rapid modernization of industry as well as government institutions.
