The Constitution

Preamble

"Power doesn't corrupt people, people corrupt power."
-William Gaddis, American Novelist

"The greater the power, the more dangerous the abuse"
-Edmund Burke, Irish Political Theorist

The Zeporan Union was formed to escape abusive behavior by those in power in the Third Alterran Republic, as well as to revive roleplay among the reugees, and this constitution will outline exactly what the leaders of Zepora can and cannot do with their authority.

The Bureaucracy

All members of The Bureaucracy must actively RP by making an IC post at least once every three days. Special exemptions may be made, but should this threshold not be met, the other two members of The Bureaucracy will decide if this person should be removed from office. If removed, a poll will be held to replace said member.

The Head of Inter-Regional Affairs

The Head of Inter-Regional Affairs has the sole duty of maintaining relationships with other regions, and researching the past of new arrivals to Zepora. They will have administrative privileges to maintain order within the region through the enumerated powers below.

  • Request, accept, and close Embassies with other regions.

  • Communicate on behalf of the Founder or WA delegate with members of other regions

  • Kick and Ban nations from TZU if in agreement with the Head of Rules and Regulations.

  • Kick and Ban nations from TZU in times of emergency

  • Suppress posts on the RMB after explaining how the post is an infraction of set rules.

  • Unsuppress posts on the RMB if in agreement with another member of The Bureaucracy.

  • Change systems or rules in TZU if in agreement with the Head of Internal Affairs.

The Head of Rules and Regulations

The Head of Rules and Regulations is the person in charge of building systems for the people RPing to use. They design all rules that will be followed, and also will be the one to write all factbooks linked in the World Factbook Entry. It's their responsibility to keep all rules up to date, and stay in touch with those that they write the rules for. Their powers will include

  • Writing all Rules and Systems for TZU

  • Suppressing posts on the RMB after explaining how the post is an infraction of set rules

  • Unsuppress posts on the RMB if in agreement with another member of The Bureaucracy

  • Kick and Ban nations from TZU if in agreement with the Head of Foreign Affairs or the Head of Internal Affairs

  • Kick and Ban nations from TZU in times of emergency

Head of Internal Affairs

The Head of Internal Affairs is responsible for encouraging RP and making sure everything in The Union runs smoothly. They help out those new to the region or RP in general, and act as a mediator between two parties when they're in conflict. They are also in charge of keeping everyone in line with rules, regulations, and the constitution. Their powers will include

  • Suppressing posts on the RMB

  • Kick and Ban nations from TZU if in agreement with the Head of Rules and Regulations

  • Punishing those who break rules as they feel necessary.

  • Change any rule or system if in agreement with the Head of Inter-Regional Affairs

The Chancellor

The Chancellor of The Zeporan Union will have a range of powers including

  • Punishing rule breakers as he sees fit

  • Raising polls

  • Change the era of RP with a poll. The selected option must have 50% of the voting population

  • Suppress posts that break rules

  • Unsuppress posts

  • Make recommendations to the bureaucracy

Should the Chancellor ever abuse their administrative power, it is the responsibility of The Bureaucracy to lead an exodus from The Union.
