The people of Driselbia rejoice as their region reaches 100 nations

DRISELBIA - Driselbia and its people rejoice as the region reaches a recordbreaking 100 nations, something regions like Krumpelberg and Order of the Southern North haven't been able to. This day serves as a testimony to more pride to come for Driselbians all over the world. The Driselbian council have responded to these good news by launching a large-scale party on Discord where people and diplomats from all over the NationStates world could partake in activities like online chessplaying and some fun chatting. This party alone led to 13 new nations joining the region.

    Recruitment a success

Driselbian consul Qandaristania has told Driselbian Post that these good news were expected by the government who were recently working hard on increasing the population of the region. Qandaristania also said that the government hopes to expand these efforts even more through an aggressive foreign policy focusing on mergers and recruitment.

"We will need to diversify our recruitment drive in order to ensure that the region's population increases at a faster pace. This means, among other things, relying and focusing more on non-telegram recruitment methods" he said. So far Driselbia is only looking forward after three months of successfully existing.

    OSN SECESSIONISTS CREATE NEW REGION

Two nations from the Order of the Southern North autonomy have declared independence after apparent nostalgia has put them at odds with the autonomy's administration.

DRISELBIA - The autonomy of Order of the Southern North is already rocked greatly by a so-called secession made by two nations who didn't agree to the merger over nostalgic reasons. The new region, ironically called the Order of the Eastern West, has adopted anti-Driselbia policies and has isolated themselves from the regions of NationStates. Reconciliation talks between Driselbia and the so-called region of Order of the Eastern West have so far resulted in no changes whatsoever as the secessionists are determined to set up their own region at every cost, even if it means failure.

    Emotional attachement

The Driselbian government has so far responded to this by pledging to combat any future secessions and says that the action taken by the two secessionists will not set an example as there are no current active secessionist movements in the region and its autonomies. The Minister of Defense, who also happens to be the leader of the OSN autonomy says that a deep emotional but foolish attachment to the Order is behind this. 'It was also difficult for me to release the reigns, but I found it necessary for the Order's survival as I don't have as much time to commit' he further added.

CHANCELLOR DELETED DUE TO TIES WITH KAISERREICH

Moderators claim chancellor tried to 'hack into mod account'[/font]

Driselbia's government is currently discussing what to do regarding the deletion of the Chancellor due to what mods call a 'hacking attempt'

DRISELBIA - The region is at shock as they witnessed their chancellor get deleted right in front of them earlier on Friday. The moderator responsible for the deletion claimed that chancellor Dimidira was allegedly trying to hack into a moderator account, saying that 'Trying to guess the password of another player is a serious offense. Trying to hack a moderator's nation is a deletion offense'.

While that might be the case, Dimidira so far has shown Driselbians his innocence on Discord. 'I don't even know what to say because I would never do something so bold and/or dumb' he told Driselbian Post. 'I legit have no idea what I did. All of a sudden when I tried logging in it just said that my nation was deleted'.

The Driselbian government suspects that there might have been a secret agenda leading to the deletion of one of the most powerful individuals of the region. The people have so far rallied behind the chancellor and pledged their support. Dimidira has ties to the region of Kaiserreich through a nation that resides there

    Interview with Dimidira

Driselbian Post has gained an exclusive interview with the chancellor, who is currently struggling to cope with this devastating deletion that has led to his sudden loss of power within the region.

So, can you tell us how it happened and when it happened?

Dimidira: 'Well it was 2 days ago on my computer and I just finished buisness in my other nation in Kaiserreich so I went to change to Dimidira. I got a message saying that the nation wasn't recognized. Not the first time that has happened so I just retyped everything but then it said that the nations has ceased to exist and I freaked out about it.

[b]Were there any sort of prewarning or any warning at all?

Dimidira: None at all, which was what I found super weird and why I find the excuse of "hacking a mods account" very suspicious.

Were there any sort of suspicious actions on your part beforehand?

Dimidira: As my other nation I have commented on the forums and got a warning for calling a guy a "rude and arrogant prick" but other than that nothing. This deletion was sudden and not expected.

    Thank you for your time.

    Dimidira: Thank you.

Junkies all over Hocherlan have staged a nation-wide revolt after a period of insufficient chemicals in the country, hurting the drug industry.

CAPITAL, HOCHERLAN - The wasteland of Hocherlan is experiencing violent struggle over a sudden shortage of "chems", which is a recreational drug commonly used by the tribals. Hocherlan, a collection of nomadic tribes living in a wasteland have always been in a state of perpetual violence ever since rampant and unchecked industry has resulted in severe environmental decay. The tribal nomads escape reality by taking "chems" and over 97% of the population have grown addicted to using "chems". The tribals have negotiated trade deals for foreign imports of these drugs, however, recent issues have resulted in a sudden shortage of drugs.

    Violence common

The chem addicted masses are now rebelling against traditional tribal structure, as a result of severe withdrawal. Violence is a common thing as the tribals struggle for another dose of their precious drugs. However, foreign specialists predict that such a spike in violence is bound to subside once the next month of drug shipments make it through.

The Somali government has announced that they will return archives to the Somali National Museum in Mogadishu.

MOGADISHU, SOMALIA - The Somali government announced that they would return archives to the Somali National Museum. The archive had been shipped to an undisclosed location in 2003, after a heist waged by a group of armed men tried to steal these archives, who include important information. The archive includes tens of thousands of institutional documents, books, religious manuscripts, photographs and personal documents, some of the documents whom are very profitable.

Ali Hassan — a Djibouti-based writer, civil rights activist and son of the prominent journalist Hassan Hussein, who left Somalia with his family in 1973 under government pressure — explained that security agencies and Somali officials seized the material in the archive in the 1970s and 1980s.

There are personal files and correspondence between the Sheikh Bashir and Shabelle schools during the mid-1970s, when the Somali government nationalized them and renamed them Isbaheysiga.

    Hailed by people

Somalis in Mogadishu have hailed this as a great step towards preserving the history and culture of the Somali people and also protecting important documents from future bandits who want to sell it. 'This is a great victory for Somali historians worldwide as this means the government has shown great dedication to protecting historical documents' prominent Somali historian Mohammed Ali said.

INTERREGIONAL

    NEW REVOLUTIONARY WAY OF RAIDING?

A region claims to have come up with a new way of raiding
SHARE THIS: Link Link Link Link

Triemann, Foreign News Correspondent, Driselbian Post (@driselbianpost.com)
    March 18th, 2018 | GILGAMESH/b]

When raiding for conquest is getting too repetitive, Izdubar has pioneered a new method of military gameplay in his new region, where they invade to block out WA resolutions. Meet the first Anti-WA Military Region, Gilgamesh.

[b]GILGAMESH - The founder of Gilgamesh, Izdubar, specifically described the region as a "relatively new military region that seeks to exploit the structure of the WA along with gameplay operations to influence the passage of resolutions within the WA". This is clearly a new method to approach military gameplay, and Izdubar has built the foundation for future Anti-WA miltary regions. Izdubar explains how this works as "In order to keep proposals from making it to quorum, or from passing, we swap selected delegates out of office. Since our goal is not to capture these regions (many having active founders, too) this can most easily be achieved by selecting natives with endorsements near the delegate." which is simple enough. This widens their targets to many regions involved in the world assembly.

    Interview with Izdubar

An exclusive interview with Izdubar himself has given us special information about this new revolutionary way of raiding, a new front in the R/D game.

What made you think of the concept of an Anti-WA Military Region?

IZDUBAR: That's a long story, actually. I've been around off and on ever since 2012, and the idea actually spawned very early in my time here. I was originally a member of The Black Riders, but since I only ever piled, and never actually helped with any updates, I got a bit bored with being a raider. I was approached by a member of the United Defenders League, Mahaj and after several telegrams back and fourth he convinced me to leave TBH. However, despite Mahaj convincing me that defenders were in the right, I did not join the UDL. I began a study of military gameplay, and the game in general, and I soon noticed that there were no military organizations built around fighting the World Assembly. It seemed to me such an organization was in the realm of possibility, and in my naivety I supposed that, since the WA made it possible for raiders to invade regions, it was the root of the problem. Further examination led me to see the WA as an organization built around violating National Sovereignty, and thus I was convinced that the greatest good one could fight for was the destruction of the WA. And thus began my exploration for military applications for fighting the WA.

Did you originally think that your idea would work out?

IZDUBAR: Well the original idea was that I could simply remove delegates that were helping to pass resolutions in the WA. The basic idea was always sound; its practicality, however, was initially in doubt, because of its scope. I did not understand many of the tactics used in military gameplay, so one of the earliest iterations of my ideas involved 300 people all online for update to be effective. Thankfully, as I learned more, I was able to fine-tune the idea until now I can carry out meaningful operations against the WA with a typical group of 5 or 6 updaters.

Have you successfully managed to block out at least one outgoing resolution?

IZDUBAR: Kind of. The idea has been proven to work through rigorous tests my myself, but I can't officially say I have blocked any resolutions. There are, however, two instances where the idea has arguably been used effectively. First, back in 2013, there was a proposal someone submitted to the WA that I decided was worth trying to block by myself. You need to understand that it is very often possible that one person can cause a delegate change, so if one person wants to fight the WA there is nothing preventing them from doing so. Over the course of several updates, I attacked this proposal by removing every approval I could. In the final hours before the proposal would have gone to the floor, the proposal needed just a few more approvals. It could have gone either way, but the writer of the proposal decided to withdraw it, and there is no way for me to know if my actions would have failed or succeeded. Second, last year, around this time [March, 2017],

I actually aided the Black Hawks in a mission to block "Liberate Illuminati". Twelve hours before voting was going to end, the vote was very close, with only about 200 more votes against than votes for. On that update, I helped while ten or so updaters went around and removed some key delegates. There was no official count for how many votes TBH benefited by, but after the operation there was about a 500 vote spread on the proposal. So the few of us may have made a 200 or 300 vote difference. So although the concept has never won the day on its own, the concept is absolutely solid - just imagine if a few people had joined me back in 2012, or if there had been 20 people helping the Black Hawks last year. I think the potential power of my ideas has been thoroughly proven, despite how few times it has been employed.

Do you consider your region successful?

IZDUBAR: We are very new, but I am pleased with how people have responded to my region. As we still need to grow, it remains to be seen whether we will be successful to any meaningful degree.

Being a pioneer in a new form of military gameplay, would you say you would be proud or angered if your idea catches on?

IZDUBAR: Absolutely! I would love to see gameplay expand its horizons. The Raiding and Defending game has been fun, but it's kind of arbitrary, to be honest. I think there is a lot of potential for politically driven militaries to take a stance in the WA - and this could manifest in a lot of different ways: a reactionary pro-WA movement to counter my actions, raiders and defenders expanding their war to include the SC, or even things like Communists vs. Fascists, or Conservatives vs. Liberals. This is a largely unexplored avenue of the game, with lots of power potential, and frankly I am surprised no one has made it a common practice yet. So yeah - I would be proud if the idea catches on and other people start using it.

CONTROVERSIAL WA RESOLUTION CALLS FOR THIRD CONDEMNATION OF TBR

    This despite two condemnation badges

    March 14th, 2018 | THE BLACK HAWKS

A third condemnation for the Black Hawks is currently at vote in the Security Council of the World Assembly and the majority are against it for delegates claim it to be no more than a medal of honor.

THE BLACK HAWKS - Known as the 'Most Feared Military Organization' of NationStates, The Black Hawks have been subject to two condemnations from SC # 52 and SC # 217, and the Union of Caplis has submitted a third resolution to condemn the Black Hawks. This action has sparked controversy within the World Assembly and the majority of votes are against it. The reason for this are the delegates of the world claiming condemnations as medals of honor for the Black Hawks, and the resolution admits to it as rewards for their actions. The resolution also notes that "The Black Hawks and their repeated, flagrant offenses against regions is impeding on the mission of the World Assembly to promote interregional peace and goodwill.", Although this may be true, raiding has become one of the most popular occupations across NationStates and has a long and sturdy history, impacting the gameplay experience as a whole.

    Interview with Union of Capilis

The Driselbian Post has received several answers from Union of Caplis regarding the situation and the reasons behind this highly opposed resolution that is hailed by the Black Hawks as a victory.

What made you draft a third condemnation for the Black Hawks?

Union of Caplis: They raided my region and many others. The condemnation represents the numbers attacked.

What is your general opinion on The Black Hawks?

Union of Caplis: They are an attack on freedoms to self govern.

How do you perceive raiding or military regions in general?

Union of Caplis: See Statement Two (Above)

Does this resolution deserve to be passed? If yes, why so?

Union of Caplis: Yes, it represents work against raiding. It represents the regions that need their voice heard.

Have you ever tried R/D by any chance?

    Union of Caplis: No

DRISELBIA NEEDS A MORE AGGRESSIVE POLICY

Driselbia's large size requires a new policy

Qandaristania, Citizen of Driselbia, Driselbian Post (@driselbianpost.com)
    March 18th, 2018 | OPINION

Driselbia has existed for four months and during these four months we've been building a great region with many hooks and attractive hooks. As we've reached 100 nations this prompts for a change in policy so we can continue to sustain this.

OPINION - Driselbia has, for the past thirdth of the year, been a great hub for people of different political, cultural and also religious affiliations to intermingle and live under one central and democratic administration. The most important goal of the Driselbian government so far has been protecting this valuable and priceless state but also expand it by the means of recruitment. As a region that has over 100 nations, we should stop thinking like smaller regions and start adopting policies that will benefit the region in the long run and also improve its already good standing.

We ought to be a professional region with professioanl ideals, because a nation likes and finds a professional region more attractive to move to and merge into. We can achieve this level of professionalism by simplifying our government, which we have, and also have a new and refreshed policy in the fields of foreign affairs, recruitment, military and internal affairs.

    The new Driselbia

After the centralization of the government, which led to the abolition of the three founding autonomies (who, among other things, were already waning away administratively), Driselbia has changed a lot from its former federal state. The simple yet revolutionary reforms that are taking place at this very moment have led to the rise of the new Driselbia, a modern Driselbia, a Driselbia that is on the path of future glory and expansion. Ever since the latest government summit that was held last month, two regions have already merged into Driselbia with more being interested in either merging or closer bonds. This signals and shows that Driselbia truly is changing for the better. But this new Driselbia requires and also deserves more. Driselbians deserve a more stronger and more powerful region. I therefore call on all Driselbians to not only trust their government, but also advocate the idea of a new professional and much stronger Driselbia.
