The region Redlandia has collapsed and only one nation remains, due to this the embassy is being removed and the ambassador Deadline has been moved to SECFanatics.

Also, who downvoted my FAM factbook?! >:(

Manifesto for election to the Senate

As the leader of Greater Conexus, I will be running for the Senate, as a member of the Thaecian Solidarity Party. Below, I shall list my reasons for deciding to run as a member of the Senate.

1. To increase activity in the branches of government.
There have been complaints over the inactivity of certain branches of government, mainly the Senate. I will pass a law that encourages everyone in the government to be active.

2. To amend Sub-Section I of Section I of Article III
Whilst this is highly unlikely at the time of writing, the prime minister may become biased towards certain parties. If this happens, they may elect judges that are biased towards certain parties too. My law will make the judges require the consent of both Houses upon selection.

3. To amend Sub-Section V of Section I of Article III
Currently, there is no explanation on how to impeach a judge. This also goes for any other sections about impeachment. I wish to change and clarify that.

4. To amend Section I of Article IV
At the moment of writing, significant power rests on the Prime Minister to pass laws. I wish to add a clause that will allow a proposed bill to be voted on if it has passed both houses 3 times.

5. To amend Section III of Article IX
At the moment of writing, only the senate has the authority to call a snap election. I wish to allow citizens to petition to call a snap election too.

If anybody sees a problem in the manifesto, they will always be welcome to debate it. If strong arguments are made in favour of one policy or another, it will be very likely for me to change this manifesto.

Regards,
Greater Conexus

Look at the latest HoC bill in the docket

I must admit I've been very impressed with the substantive arguments and manifestos being proposed here. I don't think I've seen a single "vote for us just because we're in this party and this party is for Thaecia" at all so far. There's no doubt that we have a huge variety of choice in this election.

On another note, this is a reminder to all TPU members that if you wish to run under our banner, you must inform me by midnight (BST) tonight.

Just notifying all of this people proposing amendments that our constitution isn't even the final version yet, it's technically just a draft and it's not all being enforced. That's why we were going to have a constitutional convention.

I am just saying my vision for Thaecia. If some of my ideas would be in the Constitution that would be great

The latest HoC bill doesn’t clarify what it means for a justice to be “unfit for their position”.

:big_thunk: Yah you kinda right
that's why we have the beauty they call amendment stage
tho
being unfit for the position is kinda what the chambers decide is unfit and such
is what I had in mind

Is the snap election on Saturday?

Then there would be the possibility of bias.
Let’s say, for example, Party A has control over both houses. They would then be able to judge anybody who doesn’t agree with them as “unfit for duty as a judge”.

Neither do I. People were elected for a reason, not so that they could just sit and watch while the citizens demand things.

Has anybody ran for a government position with the “vote for us...this party is for Thaecia”?

You make a good point, but we don't know how long this constitutional convention is going to last. The house and senate could do quite a lot to fix the problems of Thaecia if we accept the constitution for now and make temporary amendments. The temp. amendments can be reviewed by the convention to decide if they will make it to the ratified constitution.

Oh really? What a democratic position

Btw just so everyone understands, the MPs are going to have the same powers as before. My proposal does not affect them. Perhaps their powers even raise with this bill that I shall pass, because they will help putting into law the ideas of the citizens and becoming in a way pillars of our democratic community. I might publish in the next days the proposed bill of petitions in its full form so that people stop interpreting this idea in all this wierd ways

You do understand that this bill would essentially take away half of our jobs: Writing bills.

Titanne wrote:You do understand that this bill would essentially take away half of our jobs: Writing bills.

I can't understand that because it is a misrepresentation of my idea. The MPs can still propose bills with their own ideas. It is a PETITION BILL afterall
