If y'all don't know there's a Troye Sivan song named Bloom and there have been several interpretations of the song. Most straight people think it's about flowers and gay people think it's about a very special kind of hug that two boys do when they love each other very much or need a release. But I'm gonna give you another perspective to the song: the theological one.
Here's a link to the song if you haven't heard it btw: https://youtu.be/41PTANtZFW0
Now let's start with the lyrics, starting from Verse 1.
[Verse 1]
Take a trip into my garden
I've got so much to show ya
The fountains and the waters
Are begging just to know ya
Now this part is clearly about the Garden of Eden, with its luscious greens, beautiful fountains, and majestic rivers, all of which are begging to know us as we ascend to the glory of GoD's kingdom.
[Refrain]
And it's true, baby
I've been saving this for you, baby
Here we see the persona confirming that yes, the Garden of Eden is real and everything in the Book of Genesis is true: Heaven exists and it's all waiting for you. I've been saving this for you can work both ways: GoD is saving Eden for you, and the persona likewise is saving himself for the Lord.
[Verse 2]
I guess it's something like a fun fair
Put gas into the motor
And boy I'll meet you right there
We'll ride the rollercoaster
The persona refers to GoD's kingdom as something of a fun fair, with so many attractions and the like to explore and experience. Put gas into the motor refers to how we need to make an effort to remain in GoD's kingdom, as straying from the path will lead to one's fall from grace.
The second last line serves as an invitation to the listener to join the him as he rides the roller coaster of his journey with the Lord: One's journey of faith is often one with ups and downs, leaps of faith and moments of indecision, which is an inevitability that persona invites the listener to share in both ways.
[Refrain]
'Cause it's true, baby
I've been saving this for you, baby
[Pre-Chorus]
I need you to
Tell me right before it goes down
Promise me you'll
Hold my hand if I get scared now
Might tell you to
Take a second, baby, slow it down
You should know I, you should know I
The pre-chorus works to build into the chorus, and it does so pretty well here. I need you to tell me right before it goes down refers to the persona asking for a heads up before he goes before the presence of the Lord.
The following line (Promise me you'll hold my hand if I get scared now) refers to the persona feeling nervous coming before the presence of the Lord, asking the listener to extend his hand in support.
Take a second, baby, slow it down may refer to the need for someone to slow down their journey. Many simply aren't prepared to wholeheartedly accept GoD and as such need to discover the Lord in their own time. The final line serves only to build towards the chorus.
[Chorus]
(Yeah I bloom) I bloom just for you
(I bloom) just for you
(Yeah I bloom) I bloom just for you
(I bloom) just for you
Come on, baby, play me like a love song
Every time it comes on
I get this sweet desire
(Yeah I bloom) I bloom just for you
(I bloom) just for you
Bloom can carry different interpretations and connotations to different cultures and communities, but here it almost certainly serves as an allegory to one's acceptance of their faith. The persona compares one's acceptance of faith to a flower in blossom, blooming as it faces the radiant light of GoD's love. The line just for you continues the trend: the persona accepts no one but GoD as his lord and saviour.
Come on, baby, play me like a love song is a calling to the Lord to play the persona like He would a song. This harks back to many religious interpretations that one should use their voices for the glory of the Lord, whether it is to preach or in this case, sing praises.
Every time it comes on I get this sweet desire. Continuing on the trend of using one as a mouthpiece for GoD's Word, the persona refers to how he feels this great sense of desire for GoD's love every time he sings praises in the Lord's name. The word desire, often used to refer to unholy temptations, is repurposed from its ghastly roots to refer to the persona's undying love for the Lord.
[Verse 3]
Now it's the perfect season
Yeah, let's go for it this time
We're dancing with the trees and
I've waited my whole life
[Refrain]
It's true, baby
I've been saving this for you, baby
The persona talks of how this is the perfect season to embrace the Lord's Word, exclaiming happily: Yeah, let's go for it this time, likely implying that he is ready to wholeheartedly embrace the Lord and shy away from all other earthly temptations.
We're dancing with the trees refers to the persona awing at the beauty of GoD's creation, basking in the beauty of the nature that the Lord has created.
I've waited my whole life. The persona has been wandering aimlessly for the longest time, waiting his whole life to find a purpose which he has found in the Lord.
[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]
So there you go, why Bloom is not a song about homosexual relations but a love ballad to the Lord. Tell that to any religious family member who catches you listening to this song.

I'm a freakin' genius.
I tg'd a couple of people who had it, and said I'd exchange my legendary and a couple of epics for it. Never expected it to work!
