Infrastructure Project in Neferheim

In light of the sudden abandoning of the deal between Neferheim and Ateenia by the Ateenian government and their companies involved in the deal, a new project has begun under the guidance of Foxomexra. The project will be completed in parts, although the entirety will be finished by mid 2022 for a total cost of 2.305 billion ACU. Although consisting of various sub-projects, the overall goal is the following:

- Construction of 180 km of 4 lane road
- Construction of two new ports in large towns
- Revamp of the dated Holensburg port

Although the annual payment of 1 billion ACU that the Ateenian government was obligated to pay to their Neferheimian counterpart will not be replaced, the infrastructure project will be funded by the Foxomexran government entirely with most material used in the construction being bought domestically within Neferheim. A small portion of the Holensburg port has been set aside for ownership by Foxomexra for the purposes of maintaining a small naval base, while the remaining elements of each port - when built - will be managed and maintained by Neferheimian companies established for such purpose.

Ruins of Ancient Settlement Discovered During Construction

DAEYANG (NBN) - Excavations for the new Daeyang Centris Mall were halted as workers uncovered several foundations and relics of an ancient settlement. While there have been records of settlements east of the city, none were found to have been within modern-day Daeyang up until today. Archaeologists from the Daeyang branch of the Imperial Museum are currently examining the site, which contains relics that may be as old as 3,000 years old.

Cruise Ship Slams Into Docks

ILHAN (INC) - The SS Celestina, a 311 meter-long vessel owned by Eastar Cruises, was damaged as unusually high winds pushed it against the docks as the Ilhan Cruise Complex earlier today. The incident happened during boarding and 35 people were injured as the boarding bridge was partially crushed by the ship's movement. The ship was about to embark on a cruise around the Kingdom. "We apologize to our customers for the disruption to their travel plans. We'll be giving passengers a choice between a full refund or a free cruise on a similarly-classed ship in the future," said an Eastar Cruises spokesperson. "We'll also be assisting the injured passengers and making transportation and accommodation arrangements for all affected passengers." Passengers praised the crew for their quick response and handling of the incident. One passenger said, "I'm thankful even though my vacation has to wait. They're taking care of us even though none of this was their fault."

Soyang Metropolitan Police and Military Hold Joint Training Session

SOYANG (SNN) - The Soyang Metropolitan Police held a joint training session with the Soyang Armed Forces today. The program included hand-to-hand combat, light and heavy weaponry, and explosive handling. The program will continue for a week with the aim of equipping all of the metro's police officers with counter-terrorism skills to supplement the Special Tactics Squad. Public opinion on this program is mixed, with many calling it "overkill" and the militarization of the police force. "The city - the country even - rarely experiences violent crime or terrorism," says one resident. To assuage concerns, the Soyang Chief of Police and the Minister of Defense call the decision as a preemptive measure to discourage violent crime and terrorism and to make sure the police are prepared to handle such situations. The program is set to be rolled out to the police forces of other cities in September.

Welcome to Khemmi

Briogáidire-ghinearál Lillian MacHale was not an anxious woman. Any who had met her would see the sharpness and discipline of a career military woman, who has clawed and fought her way to the command of her Regiment. Even so, she found herself sleepless. It was official. They were being deployed. She'd written a letter, and had long-since had her will made, but even so, there was a knot in the womans stomach. Because she knew she wouldn't be on the front lines. While the politicians spouted their words of 'peacekeeping' and 'no Lethian lives lost', she knew that was a lie. They were sending Lethian boys and girls to stand in the middle of a foreign conflict, as a shield between civilians and the horrors of war. And while it was noble, to say there would be no deaths was a pipe-dream.

Deployment didn't take long. A few hours on a cargo plane from Camp Miadhair and they were on Gadorien soil. The first time Lethian soldiers had stepped on non-Ilanean soil for over a hundred years. The insignia of four regiments stood out to her; the crying raven-head of her own girls, some of whom she knew quite well and whose lives she had direct responsibility over, as well as the snake-and-pipe of the 8th, the knights helmet of the 1st Armoured and the rifle-and-tree of the 11th. All going into a foreign land to try and protect the lives of foreign people.

She didn't know the airforce insignia's as well, but the Lethian airforce was the first to arrive, and they were already quite well set-up. Ceannfort O'Kelleher was the man in-charge of the airwings, though O'Connor was running the whole show, not just for the Lethian forces on the ground, but the forces of the entire coalition. She didn't envy the man, thousands of lives on his shoulders and dozens of world nations watching him like a hawk. She just had to look out for her own troops; Njordr knows how he's doing.

She recieved a sharp salute from the young man guarding the command tent, a boy barely older than nineteen. At least he was somewhat safe back here. The tent was a flurry of activity as the deployment was prepared; she'd barely been here ten minutes and she knew that her troops would be moving into a hotzone; some small, sand-coated town called 'Saka'. Gods know what the situation was like on the ground, always hard to tell from the distance of a command tent. She'd been joining them there. Best to command from the front, as her Da would say. Or something like that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Briogáidire-ghinearál MacHale's thoughts were most certainly no longer on the bustle of the command tent, or how young the man guarding it had been. Having been rapidly deployed, the 19th found Saka a town in chaos. Wracked by artillery bombardment and with no official evacuations by the government of either side for the civilians, the 19th found themselves organising an ad-hoc evacuation of their own, creating corridors through the vicious fighting and rubble to the safezone that had been established by the 8th, south of the town and away from the worst of the fighting. The situation was nightmarish to say the least, and it took hefty willpower from the Lethian troops in the area to keep to the rules of engagement and avoid firing on either side.

While the evacuation was mostly successful, thanks in part to the rapid nature of the 19th's deployment, civilian and friendly casualties were an inevitability. While it was hoped that most sides of the conflict were not dumb enough to open fire on the Peacekeepers themselves, artillery did not discriminate between enemy combatant, civilian, or neutral party. Fortunately, however, the 19th were informed that they were, for now, to hold down the fort at the safe area, establishing FOB O'Gallagher to take in regional refugees and provide medical and humanitarian aid.

For their part, the 1st Armoured and the 11th were assigned to Shednu. If the fighting at Saka was any indication for how fierce this war would be, then the Battle of Shednu would likely require thousands more evacuations. For now, however, the peacekeepers of the 19th are content to guard the refugee zone south of Saka.

San Calian News Network

Good Evening Folks, at 1 PM last night a new leader of San Calia was declared, the former Vice President Salvatore DeCel has taken full power of the government and has declared himself the new King of San Calia. This comes after apparent power struggles in the government and a massive following for DeCel to be put in charge after former President Spencer Desmond was to laid back on Inter Island Party Voting. One is left to wonder how DeCel gained such a massive following through out the San Calian Island and Atoll Chain. Salvatore DeCel had this to say earlier,
"I am going to fix the government from how it was under Spencer. He had more power then he admitted, the House of Commerce had so little power. Im here to fix that. The Kingdom of San Calia will be reformed for the better. This great nation shall become even better."
As of tonight, the House of Commerce reforms have already been put into order.
This could be the start of something great or it could be awful for San Calia.

Raise the Tricolor pt 1
Vlasotince, Vranyian Capital, Third Day of Revolution

Despite the advantage in equipment and experience, the regular army had lost the upperhand and revolutionaries managed to win the siege at Capitol building by 5 PM and defense at Ministry of Information is crumbling fast.

At the Capitol building, the defense at the front and back entrance was nearly non-existant by 4:50PM. In the course of 10 minutes the guards one by one surrendered to revolutionaries by raising white flags. By 5PM the revolutionaries stormed the building, clearing it comepletely of any remaining hostile guards. The people outside the Capitol building rejoiced as they saw revolutionaries tear down flags of the current regime and raising the Slavic tricolor.

In any case, the true reason revolutionaries captured the Capitol building is to uncover state secrets and use them against the current regime in any way possible, but also uncover any possible tactics the state may use. This was a huge victory, but there is better to come.
________________________
Ministry of Information, Vlasotince, 5:30 PM

Due to defenses in front entrance being unbreachable for now and lacking of any side entrance, the revolutionaries decided to employ a different approach to breaking the Ministry of Information. They climbed up the windows and balconies of the Ministry building with ladders provided by the people that live close by. As they broke inside the guards of the Ministry were overwhelmed by the scale of how many revolutionaries broke in, with their nunbers not being able to match them, so most of the guards and employees just surrendered straight away to avoid themselves getting killed unecessarily.

Forcing state employees via gunpoint to help them, the revolutionaries wanted their voices to be finally heard without state propaganda putting them down, and the employees complied. It took them about half an a hour to set up the required equipment for nation wide and international broadcast. 5 young looking people stood infront of the cameras, 2 of those to the sides carrying the tricolor flag, 3 in the middle carrying makeshift weapons provided by Zastava Arms workers. The broadcast started nation wide, titled "Shining a Light". The revolutionaries started their speech.

People of Vranyia. Students; Workers; Miners; Soldiers; Laborers; Farmers; Women of the homeland as well. We are what the tyrants would call us hooligans, criminals and other insulting names. We are the revolutionaries fighting for justice and freedom for all of us. Remember the 90s? That war we had back then to unite all Vranyian people under one flag and goal of ending the dretched capitalism and freeing us from slavery through establishing communism. And what did we get? We got something worse, a statist and dystopian society under Ante Kombarov's cult of personality. Is that what we fought for back then? Are these the freedoms we were promised and for which we fought so hard to achieve? Of course not! So we have to take the matter into our own hands! 20 years we have endured countless of rules, laws and regulations on what we are supposed to do, what to say, what to think... But no more we say! It is time comrades for you to rise up againsts the tyranny of Ante Kombarov and his minions and join the cause! Long live the revolution! Freedom to the people!
_______________________
Thanks to government policies of every house required to have a radio and/or TV, this message was heard everywhere in Vranyia, and by everyone, causing a wave of protests and demonstrations to spark up in nearly every corner of the country. With this message, the revolutionaries also published some images and videos of police brutality, prooving their cause even more. Wherever the leader may be hiding, it isn't good enough, not anymore. As the army around Vlasotince now has to worry about revolutionaries on the outside, this has given revolutionaries a window to break the deadlock and spread further away from the city. Tanks and AFVs that were sent in are making their way out until further notice and army is retreating from the capital which has fallen to revolution, becoming the first stable free stronghold.

Shining a Light, international broascast

This is the people of Vranyia speaking. We have freed the capital from the hands of tyranny. Whatever the world has heard about us, from us being criminals and hooligans, it simply isn't the truth. For years our government has opressed us and kept our mouths shut so they can do as they please, and we have more than enough proof for our statement. We ask the outside world for aid in any way possible as hardest days are yet to come, our revolution has only just started. Let the solidarity and justice win!

Polder Eiland Territorial Expansion Act Passed
Much to the dismay of First Minister Jousma, and despite filibustering by multiple Labour, NIP, and Christian Democrat representatives, the Polder Eiland Territorial Expansion Act passed today in the Synod, mirroring a passage yesterday by the Council of Guilds. The act passed with 224 delegates voting for, 224 against, and 3 abstentions. The tiebreaking vote was cast by President Beatrix van Dijk, who went on to address why she felt the bill had met Labour's demands, and that the government of Jousma was being disgraceful.
The act was passed with the support of the Green Party (14 members), who successfully amended it with a provision to "preserve all of the islands except Grand Hagalaz and Coral Islands as naturally protected spaces". The Christian Democrats split on the act, despite the fact that Opposition Leader Terborg rallied for it. Many have stated that in the aftermath, they are seriously reconsidering their allegiance to the party. This was especially true in the outer reaches of Christian Democrat core territory, such as Moerasland, where all 21 representatives, 15 of whom are Christian Democrats, retaliated against the bill. Overall, of the 113 Christian Democrats, only 68 voted for. This was partially instigated by the refusal of the NIP to support further colonialism.
Labour saw similar levels of attrition, with only 153 voting against the act, 3 abstaining, and 81 voting for. Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats, loosely in the Christian Democrats' coalition, had a record of surprising support, with 44 members voting for. Additionally, Tophat Stephenson, the lone independent, and 19 guild members showed their support. This surprising rag-tag coalition from multiple parties passed the bill. Per constitutional law, no repeal of this bill may be made in the next 20 years, the High Court ruled last Tuesday.
The popularity of the act is mixed in Polder Eiland, with only a small plurality of the population (45%) in support versus 43% against. Protests have broken out in De Haven, where the labour population is strongly against the act. This is coupled with multiple resignations from the Christian Democrat Party being tendered by representatives from all 11 regions.

Bundeskongress High-Speed Railways Bill
The Bundeskongress has done a vote today evening on HSR20 Bill that was introduced in late 2019. Introduced by Federal Congressman Karl has gained fraction as the need for the expansion of Bakyern's High-speed railway system around the country. The majority of Conservative Convention representatives voted for while a lot of Green Party members voted against expressing their worry for the affect on the environment construction will do. But either way, 343 voted for while 167 voted against.

"How much further?"

"Two more blocks west from here, if my memory serves me right."

"Yeah, that's solid. Should we be expecting company?"

"I'd be d*mned if we didn't. C'mon."

The rain was dwindling as they continued to trek through the ruin-stricken city, but the hideous flashing of lightning continued its roaring ensemble.

Derek had been largely silent at the lead since his callout. Thousands of thoughts raced through his head, skipping and repeating like a broken record.

Even worse than a broken record.

He could feel the blood flowing in his veins with each drumbeat of his heart in his chest, his hands clamped around the handguard of his rifle.

His eyes danced across the eternal gray waste around him.

A dead city.

What if the Coalition intercepted them early?

Would the other rebels be there?

Did the backup units have the fire support they needed?

What if it all went wrong?

He pinched himself to be optimistic, but...

He didn't like the chances.

"Something bothering you, Derek?"

It was Marcus' voice. Quiet, stern.

He snorted. "What *isn't* bothering me? It's not the fate of the war on my shoulders, is it?"

...

"...You're right to be bothered by it."

"Well, yeah, I don't have a good feeling about all this."

We'll hatch a plan when we get to the spot, legit. Let's focus on staying alive for now, yeah?"

"I mean... sure."

They kept their pace westward.

Just a little further...

The radio chirped.

"Derek? Marcus?"

The voice sounded almost... urgent.

Derek lifted it to his ear.

"We're here. What's up?"

"We've reached the spot. There's like thirty of us over here pulling security right now, but we just got in a tangle with Coalition troops from the east just a minute ago."

Sh*t.

"You guys alright?"

"Yeah, we fended them off, but we pushed them back. If you're coming from Invictus, they'll be on you in--"

Derek looked up as he saw the blur out of the corner of his eye.

And over his shoulder came a piercing shout.

"CONTACT FRONT! HIT THE DEEEEEEECK!!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55wdHfz3foA
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Derek's legs buckled.

Flashes tore out into the night in front of him, his ears blasted with the point-blank roar of a machine gun, bullets screaming over his head.

"RIGHT SIDE! BY THE THEATER!"

"COVER! GET OFF THE STREET!"

Derek fumbled with the rifle, shifting it up under his chin to drop his eye behind the iron sight.

"Derek!? Derek, what's going on!? Respond!"

"WHERE!?"

Another burst cut loose from the far side of the building, almost around the block from him, the muzzle flashes igniting the dark air.

"We just got jumped! Just hold it for a minute, yeah!?"

"Solid copy! Call us back, will you?"

"Gimme five minutes!"

Fifty meters tops.

The three-prong fork of the foresight hovered across the blinking silhouette.

Derek's finger clamped down on the trigger. The rifle stock kicked him in the shoulder as 82-grain lead exploded from the barrel.

Somewhere out there, he heard the screaming howl of agony.

"COME ON--!"

A set of hands clamped down on his leg, dragging him across the pavement behind a burned-out car as his hand was still wrapped on the rifle.

"Whoa, sh*t!"

"You wanna die, Derek!?"

"We're not running from this one, man! We gotta punch through 'em!"

Derek lifted the rifle again as a shower of ricochet sparks exploded over his head.

"F*ck, stay down, newsman!"

"Hang on..."

He glanced around the car. There was movement by the same corner he'd struck the first victim.

"They're behind that wall at the corner of the theater, on the right!"

"What's the range!?"

"Fifty? I don't f*ckin' know!"

"Don't suppose it counts much!"

There was a click of a grenade pin off to the left. Then the handle disconnecting.

Chink.

The small orb of the grenade flew above the car, out into the darkness.

Even above the gunshots, the sinister clattering of the steel shell skittering across the pavement rang in Derek's ears.

Then he heard the voices from out ahead of him.

"OH, F*CK! GET BACK, GRENAAAAAAAAA--"

BANG!

The gunfire immediately stopped. For five eternal seconds, it stopped, but the void was immediately filled with the cacophony of the dead and dying.

"Let's go! Before they recover, MOVE!"

"On you! Derek, Wesley, cover us!"

Derek pulled the charging handle as a half-empty magazine hung underneath from the chamber, laying the barrel across the car hood.

"Wes, you ready?"

"Yup, all good!"

He rose the iron sight to his right eye.

"I'm set! Go!"

"We're moving!"

Eight other bodies moved out ahead, all eyes trained on that corner.

"Stack up! You two, form up!"

"Comin' to you."

Derek moved from his cover, rifle still trained from his shoulder. Lightning flashed overhead once more, the flash gleaming off the thousands of broken window shards.

Marcus was in the lead.

"Ready?"

"Ready!"

He turned the corner.

"WHOA! Hey, hey, wait a minute! I don't--"

BANG!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9bfc4Vw1aw
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Silence.

A deathly gurgle as Derek turned went around.

It was a medic, staring emptily back at him.

"D-D*mn you... d*mn you all to Zadah's worst...!"

"Marcus, what the f*ck!?"

"He treats the enemy? He is the enemy, d*mnit!"

"That doesn't matter! That's a MEDIC!"

Derek kneeled next to the shuddering soldier.

The eyes looking back at him were glassy, albeit laced with hatred.

Well-deserved hatred.

"You... you f*cking animals... Synthis curse you, you--"

The back of his skull burst as a .45ACP burrowed into the side of his helmet, the body slumping like a sack of bricks.

...

Derek wiped the blood off his face, stricken for words at the execution in front of his eyes. Marcus holstered the pistol and offered his hand down to pull him up, but Derek only sat there watching the bleeding remains.

But I thought we fought for peace, for all people!? Not vengeance?

Only two words materialized on his tongue.

"--F*ck you."

"--This is how you end a war, Derek."

Derek finally found the energy in his legs to stand, his eyes twitching.

And a voice torn with malice.

"Let's see how far that gets you, huh?"

Marcus' face remained unmoved as he turned away.

"Catering to the enemy only lets them off the hook."

"But if you--"

A voice called out from the back.

"By the Six, will you two shut the f*ck up and let it go!? We gotta save this city, so let's do it, for f*ck sake. Save the b*tching for later!"

Well...

He was right about that one.

Derek shook his head with a defeated sigh.

"Alright, forget it. Let's go. Chop-chop."

"No time to lose. Let 'em know we cleared them out."

Derek lifted the radio to his ear, firing off one last scathing glare at his friend.

Or as much of a friend as he was anymore.

"Yeah..."

The Seventh Battle of Shednu rages on, turning to brutal stalemate!

The fight at Shednu, which has been claiming thousands of Khemmic lives for the past few days, has yet to see either side gain an upper hand. Hebenu’s attack was met with fierce democratic resistance, and already the struggle for the strategically vital city has turned indecisive. Both sides have begun digging in, preparing for trench warfare, but the outnumbered Pharaoh is desperate to avoid this scenario. Unable to win a war of attrition should the war come to it, Pharaoh Semerkhet has ordered the launch of an all out attack on the Shashotep forces. As Hebenu throws everything they have at them and the Republic pours men into the frontline to defend, it is clear that this battle will almost surely decide the course of the war. As such, both rivals are once again begging for direct outside support, though so far no foreign power is willing to involve themselves in the bloodbath aside from the IGP. The aforementioned organization has been working nonstop to protect civilians, but the Khemmic states have made this exceptionally difficult, as missiles have begun targeting civilian infrastructure and both sides resort to barbaric chemical weapons.

After ordering the attack, Semerkhet made a speech in Hebenu to address the state of the war, among other things.

As a crowd of peasants and noblemen alike gather in city square, Semerkhet begins a prayer to Auset, A major Khemmic god said to aid spirits in the afterlife and also to be the divine mother of the pharaoh.

“Nihsu, Nihsu, Nihsu, Nishu em hatip, Nihsu em nafir. Nibat, hut’pit, wabana em hatip, wabana em nafir. Nutrit ent Ankh! Nafir em Pit! Pit em hatip! Ta em hatip. Nutrit si’at Nut, si’at Keb. Mariw Ausir, nutrit atra rin! Anukh brak! Anukh brak!”

The crowd repeated the chant as Semerkhet whispered the last line of the prayer to himself. When the onlookers eventually quiet down, Neferkhet begins the speech.

“Sons of the heavens, today we meet a challenge like no other we have faced in our feeble lifetimes. Our sons and brothers fight for their lives now not just for power, or the gains of pretenders, but for Ma’at and unity! Never in the past several hundred years has peace and prosperity been so close to our grasp, yet we must not grow overconfident. Our enemy is strong in numbers, as hyenas always love to come in hordes.”

Neferkhet looks down at the floor for a moment. “Of course, it pains me that we are making so many sacrifices, but they are sacrifices that must be made. Should the heretical politicians win the battle for our future, our gods will be forgotten, our culture and past destroyed, and our beautiful nation sold to foreign corporations. We cannot, for all that is good and holy, let this happen.”

The young Pharaoh raises his Khopesh to the sky. “Whatever it takes, our country WILL be saved! No Kentalian, no pretender Pharaoh, no greedy foreign power has EVER posed such a threat to us! Of course, justice will come to all those who wronged us in time, but right now, we MUST fight for something far greater than us! So raise your swords, your guns, raise whatever you need, and fight for the future!”

He lowers his traditional sword, and breaks the news. “As I myself shall do.”

Pointless Blood on Pointless Sand

Shednu, Khemmi
1st Royal Armoured

Chaos and disorder. That was the best way to describe the situation at Shednu. A major city, made rich by black-gold, and a prime target for both sides deadly game of tug-of-war. They'd lost five tanks already, though not to enemy bombs or missiles, but the breaking down of parts to the relentless sand. Engineers back home scramble to patch the holes in their design, the tanks not intended for desert warfare but for the plains and arctic lands back home. Even so, they struck a striking figure; neither side was foolish enough, it seems, to open fire on the beasts of steel that tore gaps in the fighting to evacuate civilians, mimicking the tactics of the Battle of Saka on a far grander, and messier, scale. The evacuation point, this time, was closer to the fighting, and far less of an organised camp; more of an area being patrolled and protected by the 11th, as the 1st remained in-city to evacuate civilians.

The deadlock was clear to the Lethic soldiers on the ground; no one side could gain a clear advantadge over the other, and more often than not civilians were caught in the crossfire. More than once, sporadic engagements between elements of the 1st and fighters from both sides broke out, as they protected civilian positions that were considered 'strategically vital' while evacuations were made. Things simply grew worse as the Pharoah ordered a mass offensive, causing the 1st to ramp up their actions and stifling fighting in parts of the city where they could.

Sáirsint Collins, 1st Armoured

Collins was organising his men from the back end of the truck they had been travelling in, the tank they were acompanying halting as further orders were radio'd in. This position was a location of fiece fighting, dust and sand being kicked up as stray mortar shells landed near their position, bullets wizzing past. Their troops knew to keep their heads down, and Collins was quietly proud that his boys were holding their fire. Then, he heard the cry, Ceannaire O'Duffy being the first to notice. "GAS! GAS!"

The cry caught the veteran off-guard. Gas? Here? There were still civilians darting between cover, or ducking out of their half-ruined homes. "MASKS!" He ordered, quick as he could. Sure enough, off to the west of their position, a bank of thick, coloured gas rolled lazily over towards them. "GLOVES!" Came his second cry. No idea if it was safe for skin contact, after all. The men scrambled first for their masks, no one wanted to be caught in that cloud without one, before the gloves came on. Collins grabbed at his radio, radioing forwards what he had discovered. Several reports from other sectors by the 1st, and a report from the air by an interceptor passing overhead, confirmed the usage of Chemical weaponry.

Coirnéal Ryan Muldowney, 1st Armoured

Muldowney, stationed at Outpost Gaineamh, recieved the reports in a bundle from his communications officer. Dozens of reports of gas being dropped within Shednu. It wasn't clear which side was firing it. Radioing back to command for further instructions and to confirm the dribble of reports O'Connor had been recieving, the response was that the 'airforces' would handle it. Whatever the hells that meant, Muldowney just hoped that it would be a quick action...

Printíseach MacAleese, 34th Air Wing, "Curly"

"Central, this is Curly, heading over target now." MacAleese was surprised to hear that his first live mission would be in Khemmi. From what he'd heard, the airforce was there was a show of strength and to dissuade other nations involvement. He hadn't expecting to be flying today, much less over an active warzone. Even so, the purr of his Filsna was soothing enough, and Sáirsint Gerty was flying escort, so there was little room for nerves. Behind him, his co-pilot, Tim "Slim" O'Scanlan was the one doing the real work. He had to pick out which of the fighters artillery were dropping the chemicals and scratch them off. He could practically feel the mans nerves, though he was two years his senior. All MacAleese had to do was keep the jet steady. The bombs dropped mere seconds later, hitting first an artillery position of the republicans. A few seconds later, another cluster, dropped over the forces of the Pharoah. The message was intended to be clear.

Keep it clean. Don't drop gas in cities. How the hell do these Khemmi idiots not understand something so basic as that?

"Central, this is Sentinel Actual, two targets scratched. Let's see how they feel about this."

Nabaw’s vision was blurry, his ears ringing. A vulture circled overhead, looking for it’s next meal. The intense heat scorched his skin. Where was he? Who was he? Why….

His mind began to come back to him. Nabaw Wabana, soldier of the 1st infantry regiment of Hebenu. Seventeen years of age, orphan of a soldier father and a mother who died in childbirth. A son of misfortune itself, so much so that he earned the nickname Nisanu: disaster. He was truly nothing, which is why he had dedicated his life to his Gods and Pharaoh in battle, as many others did.

As his hearing came back, he recognized the familiar explosions ripping through the air. Enemy mortar fire. Then, a voice.

“This one’s not gone! Nisanu, get up! We have a fight to win! Hurry!”

A familiar face reached a hand down towards him. Nabaw grabbed it and was pulled to his feet, trying to regain his bearings. He turned to his helper, and saw his commander in chief: Neferkhet himself.

“Hurry up now, kid, we don’t have much time. Their mortar fire is weakening us.”

Nabaw stared at his God King in awe, before grabbing his Khopesh and rushing to climb into one of the many APCs that were in the area. Neferkhet jumped in another, and pointed his rifle to the blinding sun.

“They want a fight, we’ll give them a fight! DEATH TO THE REPUBLIC! ONWARDS!”

The APCs rushed over a hill and towards the enemy line. Nabaw prayed to Amun-Ra, blocking out the APC to his side that was blown to smithereens by an enemy tank. Suddenly, an RPG shot hit his own car in the tire, and the men inside jumped out and began charging the enemy. A friendly jet packed with explosives dived into the tank, blowing it and anyone unfortunate enough to be in its vicinity away.

Nabaw took out his Khopesh and ran alongside his new brothers in arms into enemy fire. Bodies fell to the floor like flies, but he focused on his goal. He will fulfill his new purpose. Just as he could see the whites of the enemy’s eyes, a lucky blast of artillery fire wiped them from this world.

The Pharaoh’s army cried their warcry.

“RAAAAAA!!!”

Nabaw vaulted over the sandbags and jumped on top of a terrified enemy. A kid like him, maybe younger, but in Nabaw’s eyes he was nothing but a traitor, a heretic. He plunged his Khopesh into his neck without hesitation. He looked around him and saw his brothers doing the same, hacking and cleaving their way through the horrified democratic forces, who began running for their lives.

Nabaw picked up his fallen foe’s rifle and began shooting down the retreating men. Like rats, they fell. Neferkhet magdumped his own rifle into the wave before taking out his pistol and mercilessly shooting any wounded survivors. He turned to his men, a wicked smile on his face.

“The enemy is weak now, our journey to victory has begun! Onwards, to Shednu!”

He climbed back on top of an APC, one of the few that made it, and gave the order to pursue the enemy. Nabaw grabbed a new rifle and began following the APC on foot.

Meanwhile, horrified foreign onlookers watched the carnage from a nearby hill.
