I go it to, I'm going to stay here though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can open your Telegrams, then click on preferences - here you can check what TGs you are going to allow.
Make sure you have 'recruitment' blocked if you don't want to receive any of these.

I actually have mine set to allow because I like to keep a check on what is coming through. I was interested that this TG targeted only Canada and Forest.

Who is it coming from?

Free republic of hong kong

The casuras archipelago

I haven’t received any tg but if it’s specifically targeted at nations from this region it’s certainly worth reporting.

Free republic of hong kong

Just for the record - I did not receive it. Wondering if certain nations are targeted, not the whole region. This is concerning and needs to be addressed somehow.

It seems I was wrong, the rules have changed. If you don't want to be bothered, change your TG preferences to block all recruitment TGs.

So...stamps can target anyone...Mawhaha!

It's still rude, IMHO.

It was a little bold of them to do but it is only a Telegram of course... You are free to ignore it or accept it, no harm no foul right? I received and just deleted it, no reason to get bent out of shape about it. Can't blame someone for trying to grow their region, what ever the reason.

Devil Heart wrote:Xakememorinatri of the region Adaliumocun

Yeah it was from there. I'll look into changing my telegrams. Felt weird receiving a recruitment message.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts about recruitment TGs.

Quite a few international travellers visit us for shorter or longer periods. Most of the time probably to see what they think of us, or maybe just for a little holiday. Who can blame them, this is wonderful Canada after all, where the maple syrup flows freely and the poutine greases every hungry belly!

And in the time I've been watching it seems very few nations (if any, perhaps I missed a few) in Canada seem to have moved to a region directly in response to these telegrams. It is for this reason I plan to continue focusing on the newly formed nations located in feeder regions whenever I go on a TG recruitment campaign myself.

To anyone getting these TGs that don't want them, at least we know now they can be blocked. I apologise for not thinking to make this clear at an earlier time.

Of anyone had told me before the start of the season that Lance Stroll would be qualifying in the top 5 for a grand prix I would have thought them slightly mad. Yet here he is in 3rd!

Red Bull struggling, Ferrari struggling leaves the field wide open behind the improved Mercedes. Racing point are clearly the winners this time, but McLaren have done better previously, with Renault and Alpha Tauri are also doing well.

Barring accidents, I would predict Hamilton, Bottas, Perez on the podium this afternoon. The interest there will be Racing Point vs Ferrari for 3rd.

Well what do I know, eh?

Verstappen and Red Bull pulled out all the stops to grab 2nd, just holding off Bottas. Lance Stroll did well to take 4th for Racing point.

I’m happy for Stroll and Force India....er, Racing Point.

It really helps when you’re Mercedes powered and literally a ‘carbon’-fibre copy of the Mercedes car from last season.

I’m interested to see what Vettel can do in that Mercedes clone next season.

Grand quebecois

I don't know if anyone else is a hockey fan, but if you are, who do you have winning the Stanley Cup this year?

(and sorry for completely interrupting this conversation)

Colorado or Boston.

Grand quebecois

As a fan of Boston I agree with you on that part, but I haven't really thought about Colorado as a contender. They definitely are, with MacKinnon, Landeskog, and Makar, but I feel like the Oilers and Blues are my favorites in the West. Philly might also make a run but I don't think they're going to go all the way.

What do you think about Tampa? I am a Canucks fan, not a die-hard, just cheer for the guys who live and work in the community.

Yeah, I liked the Force India name.

I don't think there is anything concrete on the table for Vettel. Also, despite yesterdays showing, I think Perez would push him a lot harder than Stroll.

I've never really rated Vettel. He's clearly good, but IMHO not top drawer. His 4 championships came when he was in a very dominant car, and he was still pushed hard by a pay driver teammate. He knows how to win from the front, but that's not enough. I'm much more interested in the possibility of Alonso's return. He has consistently shown the ability to get more out of a car than those around him.

I feel like, of the 4 teams guaranteed a spot in the East, Tampa has, in my opinion, a slightly better chance of going all the way than the Flyers. I don't think that the Caps are going to do that good considering they were on a bit of a slide at the end of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if Tampa goes pretty far.

Well, what a Masterclass run by Lewis. Sublime to watch. Bottas showing a few cracks with that start and inability to catch Max.

I thought Stroll ran a very good race. And hats off to the Redbull mechanics for getting Verstappen’s car ready with literally seconds to spare. The fact that he ended up 2nd is unbelievable.

Ferrari’s look utterly sad. Good.
Lol

Can’t wait for Silverstone for the next two weekends.

Leclerc showing a few cracks too.

I love that (apart from Mercedes) the teams are a lot closer this year. It makes for much more interesting racing.

Greetings everyone!

June saw the first-ever XKI Summer Olympics hosted by Cultural Officer HumanSanity and Cultural Office Assistant Grea Kriopia, which ran as a month-long event spree where 3 Olympic teams competed for points, trading cards, and bragging rights. Events featured spamming contests, an Issues writing contest, a short story contest, Card collection competition, Factbook writing contest, team debates, and more, each awarding a points reward to the winning team. The event had a staggering 96 participants in total and much friendly competition was had!

In the end, Team ALEN led by THX1138 took home the gold with a total of 525 points. Weird flex, but ok

Poet Laureate Competition

June brought around the XKI Poet Laureate Competition where the region's finest poet's faced off on the topic of 'anger', aiming for the best poem on the topic in any form or style. The winner of this competition was Liberdon and their poem, The Storm's Wrath, is featured below:

The Storm’s Wrath

The midnight sea lay still
Until a wind started to blow
And silence fell to a shrill
And once calm waves began to grow

Far above foaming dark
Rested thatched roofs and clay walls
Nestled in straw, a lark
All unaware as the wind calls

Higher! Higher! the waves howl
Leaping, lashing the salty rock
Suddenly the skies growl
Tick, tock, tick says the clock

Crash! A terrible sound
Waves strike and tear, unleashing wrath
Bash! Bang! Roar! the waves bound
Forgetting caution, the waves scathe

Wind grows weary and dies
Waves calm and recede to the sea
Morning dawns on clear skies
But on wreckage and debris

But do not despair, for
The storm has no more spite
Rejoice and leap and soar
And rebuild what was lost last night

For no storm can last long
And clear skies will always return
The trick is staying strong
Until the waves and wrath adjourn

Until next month, your XKI Update Staff is signing off - Grea Kriopia
