Shaken, the admiral nodded abruptly and began sending orders to his fleet.
"Get me a long range transmission to the Green Manor," Alice demanded, "I must inform the Prime Minister of this development."
The Lawithonian signal operator nodded and began setting up the transmission, after he secured the channel he handed the microphone over to the General.

The realisation hit her like a Mac truck. And despite being an atheist:
"Oh my god." She whispered, shocked.

Lieutenant Commander Hays walks over to the Roxium outpost and informs the people there of the brewing danger.

The Roxium Federation says it does not want any part in the possible conflict involving Monsone, Aerlanica, Rathoria, Revolyutsiya, and Lawithon, along with warning everyone that if ANY shots are taken at the Roxium outpost and/or the fleet, the area will be subjected to an orbital bombardment as retaliation. The fleet in orbit fires several warning shots that fizzle out in the atmosphere due to a combination of the weapons that fired them being meant for ship-to-ship combat in space, and said shots being a kind of ordinance called a flare shot, which is primarily used to warn Roxium troops on the surface of a planet about incoming orbital bombardments. The warning shots appear as streaks of orange light, which signals that ships in orbit have orbital bombardment-capable weapons armed and ready to fire.

Seversvik

The message from Aerlanica came through and did not go over well with the government. As if more problems couldn't emerge, a nation in ruins was threatening a nation that was an economic powerhouse and was also invoicing a newly created alliance. And oh, they also have a space fleet. As expected, not only did this put the high command on edge, but it also meant it was time to relocate. Hence, the president and the government where to be transported to [REDACTED] in about an hour.

As operations in Seversvik began to wrap up, the statement from Roxium arrived, and it did little to calm the nerves of the government. Instead of facing off three space power, now it was down to a mere two. While Monsone was powerful, this situation had left the nation in a pickle. Hence, the F-35s were recalled from their deployment to conserve resources for any impending war because those fifteen planes would make a huge difference. Ideally, more powerful weapons like armed spacecraft would be used, but budget cuts had mothballed the remains of the former Varlokiri fleet that Monsone had taken over.

The one saving grace was the very robust and very deadly Monsonian air defence network. It was more than adequate against most modern threats and even had an anti-satellite capability. and while this would be adequate for flow flying aircraft and/or spacecraft, vehicles at longer ranges would pose an issue. And that is where the Safeguard and Sentinel systems come in. Originally designed to defeat Soviet ballistic missiles in any stage of flight, the systems had been extensively modified to tackle the threat of spacecraft outside the outer reaches of Earth's atmosphere. To make matters worse for any enemy, the missiles were armed with a variant of the American W71 nuclear warhead which meant evenly shielded ships were susceptible to extreme radiation from the blast.

"What is our next move?" Asked the foreign minister tensely.

"Tell the Roxians we will respect their neutrality and that we will not attack their craft or outpost." The president replied as he stipped some water.

"And the September Agreement signatories?" Inquired the minister of defence.

"That falls under my purview." Sighed the foreign minister.

"It falls under both of your purviews." A colonel said angrily to the minister of defence and the foreign minister.

"He is right you know." The president remarked.

"Anyhow, what is our course of action, sir?" Asked the foreign minister.

"Tell them the Rathorians started this by threatening a Monsonian scientific station and all acts on our behalf were to above all, protect the scientists at the station who were at risk of being injured." The president replied.

"You realize they are SIM agents right?" Asked the minister of the interior.

"I do. But I need to tell myself a lie sufficiently before I can speak about it on TV." The president retorted as he sipped some more water.

"How should I communicate these messages?" Asked the foreign minister.

"By the quickest way possible." The whole cabinet said irritatedly.

---------------------

To whom it may concern,

The Monsonian government will respect the neutrality of the Roxian Federation. No Roxian ship or outpost will be attacked. However, the same cannot be said about the other nations who may harbour other intents, nor can it be assured that an accidental stay shot will hit a Roxian ship. For the safety of your ships and crews, it is best to remove them from the zone of danger or to engage their shields to protect them from harm. This is an evolving situation which could end very poorly and devolve into bloodshed.

Sincerely,

Frederick Geiger
President of Monsone

---------------------

To whomever it may concern,

This unprovoked threats and aggression towards Monsone are not welcome or very civil. It is very strange that nations are leaping to the defence of the belligerent nation which threatened to attack Monsonian scientists. Yes, the scientists are armed, but that is because the Arctic regions are a dangerous place to begin with. All further acts by the Monsonian government have been in response to unprovoked Rathorian aggression which included threats against the scientists and the planes bringing critical supplies to the scientific base.

May it also be noted that there will be retaliation for any attack against Monsonian territory, citizens, and overseas stations. Such force is a final recourse that is reserved for only dire moments, but the signatories of the September Agreement have been irresponsible in their threats and actions leaving me no other option but to threaten the use of force. Any use of violence against Monsone will result in retaliation on an unprecedented scale.

Sincerely,

Frederick Geiger

Why does Monsone want to attack Rathoria

Lawithon wrote:Why does Monsone want to attack Rathoria

I don't. The whole thing is that Rathoria has threatened a "scientific base" run by Monsone, and now everyone is a bit shocked and scared that instead of just rolling over and surrendering, the situation has escalated because it made zero sense to withdraw a "scientific base" coincidentally run by the Monsonian counterpart to the CIA, the SIM.

In the morning they woke up and John began to plain out the rest of the operation; they would continue searching for any signs of an intelligence agency before continuing to stage 3 of Operation Silent Guardian. If the elections happened, then they would also go to Stage 3. however, John ensured Margaret went along with Wilson to make sure he "didn't do anything stupid". Wilson didn't mind though, it was nice to have someone to talk to, especially Margaret.
"What's uncomfortable?" Margaret asked, once again not noticing that her hands had subconsciously reached up to trace the shell choker that now adorned her neck.
"The necklace I got? you don't have to wear it if you don't want to."
"No no, it's nice I...I just haven't really had any jewellery for a while." she said with a small laugh.
Wilson shared it with her as he looked at the surrounding buildings. Some offices, some banks but still no god damned intelligence agency, much to their annoyance.
"Ah well, we haven't had a few things for a while."

As the Peoples Commissariat finishes reading the message from Monsone to the Central Committee, the many ministers in the room begin presenting possible options. The Minister of War, Anastasia Ljubov, stands up while adjusting her uniform and says,
"As a signatory of the September Agreement we are obligated to defend our allies, however, as Rathoria, is not a signatory we have no obligation to protect them. On the other hand, Monsone is a formidable force and can be a crucial ally in any future fights against fascism. So I would like to personally advocate that we stay neutral for now but if a conflict breaks out between Monsone and Rathoria we stand with Monsone."
The Foreign Affairs Minster, Sophia Wagner, says,
"But what of our allies in the September Agreement? Should we abandon Aerlanica as they try to pursue peace! Of course not, I believe we should assist Aerlanica in there pursuit to broker peace."
"But what about our destroyed spy satellite..." Says the sketchy man in the corner who claims himself to be an agent of State Intelligence ,"One of our satellites were destroyed by Rathoria and this satellite was very important as it monitored some of our more 'threatening' neighbors. The Rathorians should at least compensate us for the damages."
Sitting in his chair, Peoples Commissariat Sean Rhett thinks to himself What should we do? Who do we side with? What is best for the people of Revolyutsiya?. He slowly rises from his seat and says,
"Comrades, after listening to your concerns I say we stay neutral yet have the forces in the Arctic on standby and the First Fleet prepare the aircraft for a possible dogfight. Begin mobilizing the Second Fleet and have them stationed outside of Monsone territorial waters but they are under strict orders to not fire unless fired upon. The Second Fleet will assist Monsone if Rathoria pursues the war path while the First Fleet and the Mechanized Red Calvary already deployed in the Arctic will contain the Rathorians. Of course comrades, this is all hypothetical and until fighting breaks out we will assist Aerlanica in brokering a peaceful resolution. Glory to Revolyutsiya Comrades!"
He sits back in his chair taking a deep breath and grabbing the files in front of him.
"Now onto our next subject. We received this message from Aerlanican Deputy Prime Minister."
He presses the play button on a recording device of the message to room.

The transmission abruptly ends.

Several ministers are in awe after hearing the message. Commissariat Rhett says,
"We must mobilize the a force to fly to Aerlanica to figure out what is going on there."
War Minster Anastasia Ljubov interjects,
"I agree a contingent of 5,000 of the finest members of the Army of the Potomac can paradrop into Aerlanica within the matter of 4 hours. Once the area is secured, we can fly in roughly 400 members of the medical core to assist along with..."
She is cut off by the Economic Minister Dieter von Tanen who is known to be staunchly Aerlanican as he sees them as a lost cause. He says,
"Comrades, must I tell you we are spending a huge amount of marks on foreign aid to Aerlanica so shouldn't they be able to handle this problem their selves. Why must we spend more marks on sending manpower to assist them."
Giving Minister von Tanen a harsh gaze, Peoples Commissariat Rhett says,
"Because they are a signatory of the September Agreement and an important ally in our fight against fascists and even if they were not they were not a signatory it is our duty to assist the proletariat of the world when they are in need."
Calming down, he continues speaking,
"Minster Ljubov, you are authorized to send the contingency of troops and make sure the air transports are escorted by a couple air squadrons. Now everyone, that concludes our meeting so I insist all of us to get to work. Glory to Revolyutsiya!"
Everyone responds by standing and saying,

"Hey Margaret." Wilson said discretely, nudging her.
"Huh?" she replied, once again touching the necklace absent mindedly.
"See that bridge over there," Wilson said, pointing to a nearby coffee shop with an outdoor seating area and walking over to it, "the one with all the military police.”
"Hang on."
They sat down at the cafe, with Margaret sitting looking towards the bridge. She stole a quick glance gave a discrete thumbs-up, easily mistaken for her wiping sleep from her eyes.
"Seems kind of important, don't you think?" He continued
Margaret nodded. They had to pause their conversation as a waitress, dressed in the traditional garb of Azulakas, moved to take their orders.
"Why would they have guards guarding the bridge?" Margaret asked, her hand moving absentmindedly to the necklace as she raked her head for ideas.
“Well there wouldn’t be guards guarding the bridge if there wasn’t anything to find,” Wilson said with a childish grin.
Margaret let out a small laugh. Not because the comment was funny, but because they needed to remain concealed in plain sight.
“We’ll tell John about the bridge, and make a plan.”

Revolyutsiya wrote:"Minster Ljubov, you are authorized to send the contingency of troops and make sure the air transports are escorted by a couple air squadrons. Now everyone, that concludes our meeting so I insist all of us to get to work. Glory to Revolyutsiya!"

“Mr Prime Minister,” the soldier piped up, holding out a radio phone, “There are some Revolyutsian’s arriving in some planes, they claim they want to help, what should we do?"
Jonathan, after a long pause and with a monotone voice of shock and grief, replied.
"Allow them to land, direct them to Fox's Bluff; they're needed most there."
Jonathan walked away and into the city square, horrified. A sick feeling in his stomach grew with every step he took, and his eyes desperately wanted to look away as he grew closer. He never wanted to see that sight again, never wanted to hear those cries again.
He left the army to never hear the cries of "Gas!" breaking the silent air again, to see the aftermath of it again.
And yet, because of fates sick sense of twisted humour, here he was again.
Looking out at one of many pile of bodies; many of them politicians.
But because of the wind the gas drifted further south.
And so there were not just politicians.
There were children, normal men and women. there were doctors, police men, some soldiers along with a wide slew of other trades and occupations. he managed to spy a pregnant mother collapsed near the top of the pile, and a new born infant still clutched in the arms of a father.
He peeled his eyes away as he looked at the make-shift field hospital, set up because the normal hospitals were either full or contaminated, filled with cries and gurgles of pain, as many more Aerlanicans slowly felt their lungs being dissolved from the inside by the gas, only to die and be added to one of the many piles.
"What is the death toll?" He asked a nearby soldier.
despite wearing a gas mask, Jonathan knew the sad look he held as he said the answer.
"It's nearing a few thousand in Aerlanica City alone, sir," he said, "we think, overall, it could be up to fifteen thousand dead."
Jonathan nodded, and continued walking through the tent hospital that sprung up in Hope Square. With his newfound psionic abilities, he reached into the minds of those around him and felt their emotions of pain, of fear, of confusion, of horror. He heard their thoughts; wondering whether or not a relative survived, wondering if this is the end, wondering who attacked them. Jonathan withdrew before the emotions could overwhelm him. But a fact still rested heavily on his shoulders.

Fifteen thousand dead.

A nationwide, coordinated strike with chemical weapons.

The whole thing reeked of the NAP.

He wandered past a tent as a few of the last remaining doctors carried out a dead body; a girl, no more than fifteen dressed for an occasion, most likely a date she would never see.
So many lives, Jonathan thought to himself, Unfinished lives filled with dreams, with futures, with descendants and with memories. Cut down like unripened grain.
Jonathan looked around at the hospital surrounding him. Jonathan was often told he was slow to anger, and that it would take a large deal of effort to make him furious.
But Jonathan didn't believe that was true, because he at this very moment was overwhelmed with grief, with anguish, and with undeniable, raw, primal rage.
He was going to make the NAP pay. He offered peace time and time again and they threw it away, only to attack every city with a gas attack, murdering his people.
No more.
The NAP had ran out his patience and his mercy. Now there will only be blood and fury.
They will pay in their blood Jonathan said, And I will show the world what we do to Fascists

(With this newfound aggression, the NAP terrorists will be defeated more rapidly)

Two, don't worry about tech deficiency Lawithon is willing to share military technology readouts (Not the current generation but still high quality weapons and vehicles) and sell or lend lease equipment to you

As per the terms of the September Agreement, Klostersee offers to send its newly rebranded counter terrorism unit, the last remnant of the very militarized police force of the previous ruler, to Aerlanican capital, to ensure stability and keep the death toll to a minimum. This unit would comprise of a medical unit plus about 600 soldiers in various APC-s that have been fitted for use by the police. This again thanks to the police force being apart of the military up until recently. This proposal is being seen by the Klosterseean side as a great opportunity to train the unit and aid the Aerlanicans in their time of strife. Klostersee requests that Aerlanica grant the unit a base of operations, everything else will be managed by Klostersee.
