We had snow yesterday after the Great Melt Off had cleared every vestige of snow and the plants in my garden started budding. I wonder if they will come back.

Some plants are hardy enough to survive some snow and cold.

True, but many do not when their buds get frozen. :(

I hear you. We all do at least some of that this time of the year. I wish winter would stop coming back.

It's like a cat that you gave away that keeps coming back. :(

Had not heard that song in ages. Old Lee Moore, if I recall correctly. Not sure if that is the correct spelling.

There are several different songs based on that topic. Such as....

How's the garden doing?

So far, so good. Things are coming back. The rhododendrons are in full bloom.

Knih and The snow fox

Rhododendrons don't grow in Northern Ontario too good. Wonder how far South you have to go to see them growing nicely enough to be blooming.

I live in Chicago, though some species are hardy enough to thrive and bloom further North. My variety is Called PMJ ]Rhododendrons.

When I was in Vancouver, they were like weeds. I do miss them. Here in Ontario, there are plants that just are not hardy enough to survive our winters.

That is a shame, though there are plants that do survive your Winters and give you a burst of colour in the Spring.

The snow fox

Pick the right plants that will survive our winters, they canlook just as good as those that have to be planted every year. Some roses are like that some years. Depends on the winter and what you do to protect them.

I would like to have a greenhouse one day.

Indeed, it's what you do to protect them. I have a regimen to protect my roses that I put in practice every Fall.

I've almost talked my husband to build me a small greenhouse to replace the cold frames that I have been using.

The snow fox

I am having a tree removed so maybe I will have room for a greenhouse next year and it will not be in the shade all of the time.

Think the tree finally died, so it is time.

Even a small greenhouse or even a temporary one would help. Some things just need that extra length of time to grow. Taking the plants inside and starting them out just takes up so much space that just does not exist. I envy your cold frames.

They are nice, but with a greenhouse, I can have fresh herbs and vegetables year round for cooking.

Sure got cold the past couple days. A greenhouse would be nice right now. My yard is too small for a greenhouse, but maybe a greenhouse and shed combination might work. A sunroom would be nice too.

This week began in the high 80's and so far today it's in the 40's and raining. We needed the rain, but the cold just make it miserable.

Warming up nicely now. Summer seems to be starting finally.

Probably maybe. It is said of the weather where I live, if you don'y like the weather, stick around for a day and it will change. Also we have two seasons...Winter and road construction.

The snow fox

Seems like it was not that long ago that it was still cold out. Now we are in a heat wave. Maybe not exactly, but it is pretty hot out.

IKR! We've been having temps in the 90's the past couple of days and no rain.
