Hujum, hujum, hujum!

Engage, engage, engage!

These words signalled the rain of destruction that El Haluf would release upon Brazil, as rockets from cruisers and cannons from Battlecruisers and the newly created Zodiac Battleships bombarded what little coastal defences the Spanish could muster. Destroyers raided the cargo fleets that Spain sends through the Atlantic, disrupting their logistics of the and risking themselves of overextending in the Brazilian lands. The land war was not so much different for the European invaders as Spanish military forces are forced to fight a guerilla war against an enemy force within their homeland. They fought in marshes and swamps, tripping over carefully concealed traps and encountering enemies that make themselves invisible in the almost alien-like terrain of the Amazon. Almost four months from the first time they landed in the New World, they have already faced the challenge of fighting in a junglescape they are not familiar fighting in. Now they face a shortage of supplies as the effects of El Haluf cutting out Spain's shipping lanes forced the soldiers to live off the land by eating what the Amazon had to offer, poisoning on plants and animals, and suffering on diseases like dysentery by drinking unclean water.

Unknown to the Spanish, El Haluf has secretly sent confidential documents to the Brazilian President, promising his nation the protection of his nation for it's full subjugation in the name of the Dominion and her Protectorates in return. A secret alliance has been formed, and should Brazil join the Dominions, it's territory will be known as the Amazonian Protectorate and the south become a part of the Rio de la Platan Protectorate. El Haluf has payed respect to Brazil as it continually observes the sleeping giant of the Amazon. Guerilla warfare, a rich and proud heritage from the Old World, and also owning a sizeable fleet, Brazil has a lot in common with El Haluf.

Operation Redeemer; Preparations!

Saturday, May 16 1922. 1800 hours. The 1st and 2nd Battlefleets, Anaklusmos and La Niña respectively, departed from the ports of Tobago. Estimated to arrive in the Brazilian Waters after eight hours, at 0200 hours of May 17 1922 by non-stop sailing through the calm, moonless waters of the South Atlantic ocean. The combined Battlefleets, officially monickered as the "Black Fleet", escorted the transport ships that are carrying the first batch of the invading forces, numbering in total of 45,000 fresh Dominion Guards and Foreign Legions. One of these Foreign Legions are the Tobago Toxin Division; experts in the use of chemicals, they will use their craft in order sow discontent and further demoralize the Spanish forces. These batch of invasion forces are but the first of the two planned Expeditionary Forces prepared by El Haluf for Redeemer. Another 20,000 troops will arrive from the Rio de la Platan Protectorate, and reinforce their Brazilian and Halufi allies in their endeavors.

Battlefleet Anaklusmos led the entire Armada by placing a distance of 150 kilometers between them and the invasion force and La Niña. With 32 ships, it is by far the largest fleet in the Dominion Navy. In fact, it was the very same fleet, along with the 2nd and 3rd fleets, that the late Chairman Lucero used to invade the Maldives and create the Indian Oceans Protectorate; and it has recently reorganized to fit the new Zodiac-Class battleship as its flagship, placing DNV Leonia as the de-jure Primary Command HQ for the entire Halufian operations, and placing the entire operations under the leadership of 32 year-old Supreme Commander Dante Lucero, son of the late Chairman himself. It is symbollic, for in a way two Luceros have already led these fleets.

Commander Dante did not rise to his position as a high-ranking officer of the Navy because of his connections with his father; Todd Lucero. In fact, he alienated himself as far away from his son as possible throughout his training. Regardless, Dante rose because of his tactical and strategic thinking; a trait that he inherited from his father. During his years as a sailor, he was given the nickname "El Necrofago", Ghoul, because of his skinny frame and weak stature. Nevertheless, when he rose in the ranks and as his father died during the Panaman Assasinations, he was now called "El Huerfano Necrofago", the Orphaned Ghoul. When his father died, Dante started carrying the cutlass of Chairman Todd, and even in this operation did the blade still strapped onto his hip, the ruby encrusted hilt gleaming along with his Navy blue uniform.

Such a nickname might also be attributed from his choice of tactics. His favorite strategy to use during naval battles is a tactic he called "The Cobra Formation", where destroyers will envelop an enemy with smoke, and launch torpedoes and plant mines in order to isolate or prevent the enemy from escaping. The ships would then disappear through the smoke, never to be traced again. Dante was never fond of long and drawn out engagements, always preferring to strike quick and disengage even quicker; the typical Halufi strategy.

Dante's thinking has been tested when during the voyage of the Armada, he thought to send his minesweepers. Indeed he detected multiple mines of unknown origin along their route, possibly planted by Spanish or even Moroccan pirates. Nevertheless, this choice may have saved the Black Fleet a ship or two.

Operation Fortaleza: The Battle over the Brazilian Coasts!

0300 hours. Spanish watchers in the city of Fortaleza looked over the dark horizon with weepy and dreary eyes, scanning the morning with a sun that is still yet to shine while hunched over their rickety chairs. I observer, however the dancing lights of multiple lights over the distance: those are certainly spotlights from a ship, and judging by its number, it is artificial in nature and is on a direct course to his position. Suddenly, those lights launched a bright flare to the nightsky, illuminating everything, and to his horror he saw it:

The Red Banner of the Nobilite flew on the masts of the 32 warships of Battlefleet Anaklusmos. The bells were tolled and signals blared the Spanish base. Sailors are beginning to rise up from their barracks, but before they could reach the ships anchored on their moorings, the Halufian warships struck first. Battlecruisers and Battleships lobbed toxic gas around the Spanish ships, rendering it inoperable as the fumes enter the ventilation shafts of the vessel. However, a few destroyers did able to move from their moorings and tried to attack the Black Fleet, but the sheer mass of firepower that El Haluf outputs into the position means that panic spread easily in the dark night where Toxin and artillery is present. Naval batteries were swept aside by a combined naval barrage of multiple cruisers simultaneously firing on the positions, and even the destroyers were forced to evacuate after it was harassed by El Haluf's own Wolf packs of destroyers.

By 0600 hours, Spanish soldiers began raising the white flag, signalling their surrender. The Black Fleet, together with its Dominion Guards, secured the base and took the soldiers as POWs.

The Spanish Command in Brazil realized that, as El Haluf surrounded their forces at the rear and is now in a position to compromise his logistics, he had no choice but to surrender. Commander Dante, together with the Brazilian Dictator, met with the Spanish and, after a lengthy discussion, agreed that they will be allowed to go home in Spain as El Haluf integrates Brazil into the Dominion as the "Amazonian Protectorate".

Securing Brazil!

With Spain pushed out from the New World, the people of El Haluf in the Antilles celebrated with the expulsion of colonizers and the addition of a new nation to the Dominions. Parties started happening in the street, at some point forcing Tequila shop owners and bars from selling liquor for a moment in Mexico City because the festivities might result in a city-wide riot.

Brazilian cities too are welcoming of the Halufian forces. The Brazilian Dictator eagerly welcomed Dante and his retinue, and a Mardi gras actually occured following the expulsion of the last Spanish Transport ship. Halufian sailors and Dominion Guards mingled with Brazilian hosts, and a twelve hours shore leave mean that, for a time, the night life was alive as if the city wasn't bombed yesterday.

But the Battle for Brazil is not yet over. Elements of cessationists, separatists, and partisans are still present in the country; their positions are possibly at risk of being overrun by a remnant of a Spanish force that were left by the Iberian nation; worse still is the vulnerability of the Rio de la Platan Protectorate as it engages is its own fight in Southern Brazil. Dante could only reinforce his holdings as he waits for reinforcements and orders from High Command.

Field Marshall Farouk Salah al-Din is currently doing a review of some of the military during a training session outside of Aleppo, needless to say he isn't impressed.
Farouk Salah al-Din was formerly a commander in the Ottoman Empire before turning sides and assisting Mashriq in her call for independence. He was a key figure during the Second Battle of Damascus leading the defense of the city against the much better disciplined and equipped French Army, halting the French occupation of Syria. Since then he has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshall and is now in charge of much of the nation’s training programs in the attempt to establish a professional army for Mashriq. During his inspection he has decided his best course of action would be to write a letter of demands to the head of state expressing his concerns…

“I am ashamed to say that our military in the current state of hands is in a sorry state to say the least. The men being trained before me are no older than boys, they are no more fit to defend a flock of sheep from wolves than to defend our nation from hostile powers. Furthermore the discipline of these boys is something you would see of a street gang… Many are from small tribes and villages, having no sense of respect for their commanding officers. A serious crack down is needed to ensure they follow further orders of which I plan to institute in the near future. Going off that the current NCOs and Officers in charge of these units lack the skills needed for decent leaders. They don't understand the art of war and how modern warfare should be treated, they rely on their mountain style of combat versus leading a central organized unit that is crucial in our time and age. These are only the problems we see on the surface... Our supply is atrocious. Our forces are armed from anything from British weapons, French weapons, and German-Turkish weapons; there is no sense of a unified armory that our nation can continue production of. We can keep production of turkish weapons; however, it will take more time than we would like to restock our military. I watched today as a unit practiced on the range, they were only allowed to fire three shots before passing the rifle to the next person in line. I even witnessed units armed with nothing besides muzzleloaders and swords/other hand to hand weapons. In terms of machines of war we have next to nothing… I have toured other nations in this past year seeing even the smallest of Balkan states maintaining a fleet of armored cars, aircraft, and some with even tanks. Our machines of war numbers with an armored train, a few dozen captured armored cars (many of which are in need of upkeep), a handful of French aircraft, and only several French Renault Light Tanks and British Mark Tanks.
To the outside world we may not be seen as an easy target or a nation to be feared militarily, it has only been two years since our victory over not only the Ottoman Empire, but the much better British and French armies. However, as I look on our army today I can only thank Allah for his gifts of two years ago on us. I plead with you, nay I beg you to further support our army…”

If our nation is going to have a future education of our masses. In 1901, the establishment of the Office of the School of Medicine in Damascus was approved and in 1903 this school, which is the nucleus of the University, opened. The school included branches in medicine and pharmacy, and the language of instruction was Turkish, which would be changed to Arabic in 1918. In 1913, a Law School opened in Beirut, in which most of the teachers were Arabs and the language of instruction was Arabic. Then this school was transferred to Damascus in 1914 just as the School of Medicine moved to Beirut. Then in the last years of the First World War the Law School returned to Beirut. Following the establishment of Mashriq the Institute of Medicine and the School of Law opened in Damascus, the former at the beginning of January in 1919 and the latter in September of the same year. Since then the School of Law was named the Institute of Law and this institute was linked together with the Institute of Medicine, the Arab Society, and the Center of Arabic Heritage in organization under the name of the Syrian University. In this past year, the School of Higher Literary Studies was established. The University of Damascus is proving to be a vital part of the nation’s education and being the only Arabic university in the Middle East is bringing in hundreds of others to the nation for our education.

The industry of Mashriq is a curious one to say the least, it has great potential; however, lacks the modernization required to harvest all of the resources in their territory. Mashriq mainly sees itself as an agricultural and oil producing nation. Agriculture has always been a tradition in this region. Mashriq holds the most farm and livestock friendly lands in the Middle East (minus that of Anatolia), and through generations the population of the nation has kept it alive and the region fed easily. Through European and Ottoman industry in the area, oil has been shown in great amounts and has allowed it to be collected just as easily. Mashriq and her industry oil will be the life blood of the nation in the future, producing more than the nation itself is using. Even still many engineers in the nation believe there are still oil pockets that are yet to even be discovered within the nation, further development of industry will allow us to reach these untapped pockets. Which may come as a surprise to many nations outside the Middle East is that Mashriq holds some other large mineral rich areas. Mashriq holds the only source of phosphates in the Middle East which allows the nation to produce chemicals like pyrophosphates, the same chemical used to kill and mane so many soldiers in Europe during the Great War. But on a commercial side allows the fast progression of industry when used correctly. Coal, coal was the starter of any industrial empire. Coal mines are spread across the nation and like the use of phosphates can be used for a fast progression of industrialization. In all senses Mashriq is a fairly rich nation and has great potential if given the chance to rival even the larger more developed European and American nations if given the ability to do so...

The Lands of Pharaohs, Prophets, and Palestine

The Arabs are one of the largest cultural groups in the world and at times have created some of the largest empires in the world. Even between the slight cultural differences and swabbles the Arabs have a deep sense of brotherhood to one another, unlike most European and Asian countries. With the sudden withdrawal of European powers in the region, a vacuum pocket has been created leaving several areas without a form of government or a weak one at that. Regions like Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, and Hajez. After the victory of Mashriq independence against European overlords they have reminded a symbol of Arab nationalism to many of these states.
Palestine and Iraq in general have been large supporters of joining with Mashriq since its formation and was only stopped by European powers from doing so. However, without those powers to stop them now they have been flocking to Mashriq for support, and finally Mashriq feels like it can integrate these areas freely without the overlooking eyes of predator nations. After two years Palestine and Iraq have been welcomed into the fold of the nation as long lost brothers and sisters of Allah.
Egypt and Hajez have been another couple that have been eying for Mashriq support. Like Mashriq, Hajez won its independence against the Ottomans; however, they lost it to British shortly after. This did nothing but draw Hajez closer to Mashriq as the two states saw each other as comrades of the Islamic faith and being that the two nations have a closer connection of transportation from Damascus to Mecca. Hajez hasn't had the time like Mashriq to form a stable government and has been more and more looking to Mashriq for support. Eventually a deal was reached between the two Arab states, with northern Hajez agreeing to be integrated into Mashriq along with the southern areas at a later date with the promise of further Mashriq support.
That brings us to the topic of Egypt, they have heavily relied on European support to keep the region running and with their sudden withdrawal has left the region in a very heavy vacuum of power. With the small urban north versus the large rural south. Egypt has also held the mantle of being the state that supported the creation of the larger Arabian State, being the capital of which several times throughout history. With the promising support of Mashriq, Northern Egypt agreed to allow a Mashriq governing body over the region to help further solve the vacuum problem in the region today…
Mashriq has shown the world the victory through peace and understanding can be just as powerful as victory through the sword.

While enjoying a hearty lunch, the executive council was approached by one of the council's advisors. There, he broke the news that the Republic of Trev had fallen. Surprised by this, the council members sprung out of their seats and rushed back to the White House. As they ran through the marble halls, advisors trailed behind them in the rush to the chambers.

3 members of the council sat at Dulles International, sipping their coffees as they waited for their flight to McCarran International in Las Vegas. Out of nowhere, a voice came over the speakers saying, "1 pm flight to McCarran International is now boarding." Hearing this, the members stood up and briskly walked to the boarding area. They stored their luggage in the compartments and sat in their comfortable, first-class seats as a trolley of wine approached them.

5 Hours Later
The council members looked out upon the Vegas strip as the plane descended onto the tarmac of McCarran International. They took out their luggage as one member, Stephen Crenshaw, left the other two as he walked toward the boarding platform of the private jet in waiting. He waved to the others as they walked out into the city. Crenshaw wheeled his luggage onboard as he prepared for his flight to Los Angeles.

Crenshaw awoke as the plane sharply turned and sat up in his seat. He opened the blinds to see the US Bank Tower towering above Los Angeles. A minute later, he felt the plane touch the tarmac as he sat up to get his luggage. He walked from the plane to the street and hailed a cab for the city hall. On his way, he looked out to see something very unusual to him. Small businesses and art lined the streets, dominated by corporations in other cities. He drove by people biking around the city and others painting beautiful, flowing murals, brightening up the already colorful city.

As the cab turned the corner, Crenshaw's eyes came upon the city hall, a towering, ornate building lined with lush gardens. He stepped out of the cab and walked toward the large wooden doors at the front. Inside, the mayor was waiting for him and led him to his office. There, the mayor offered Southern California to Vandalia and in return, Vandalia would build the world's tallest building in downtown Los Angeles. Crenshaw accepted immediately and shook the mayor's hand confidently.

Asauroaust and Persia

Throughout history, the Asauro people and the Persian people have been enemies, despite being quite similar races, in the past when Persia held great control over the Asauroaust Kingdom, and when the kingdom of Asaurouast was but a tiny dot on the map, the Persian's would enslave the Asauro people, and puppet the Kingdom.

However, the largest war of the Kingdom's history and the most defining of their history would break out, the Asauroaust Kingdom would prepare a large, uncontrollable revolt in Khuzestan, gaining them all the territory of Khuzestan as the Persian army would be forced into a retreat, and the Asauro people would request their peace treaty to be signed. This peace treaty contains content requesting the end of puppetization and that as many ethnically Asauro people in Persia are to move to back to the Kingdom.

Throughout centuries, these two would clash, Asauroaust would grow in size as the Persians would decrease in side, the final hit being the battle of Sistan and Baluchestan of 1852, a war that would result in the Persians being completely locked away from the ocean, crushing their economy and trade, and making Asauroaust the greater power of the Persian land.

Disputes Between The Nations!

Currently, in the modern day, the nations would have a dispute over borders, as Asauroaust claims Persia holds onto land that is largely Asauro populated and belongs to the kingdom, which would be the three provinces above the West Asauro Province. However, Persia threatened this claim with total war between the two nations, promising the Asauroaust Kingdom a bloody war with the goal of collapsing the kingdom if they dare try and take more territory from Persia.

"If you so desire. Let's have at it then."

These are the short, but loud words that would be sent over to Persia, followed up with an invasion, the infantry troops would be unleashed onto the fields to go to battle with Persia, charging into the battlefield like bulls to a Spanish man with a red cape. The attacks were planned to be aimed at more arable and farmable land, as Asauroaust suffers with agriculture, having very little arable land, but the biggest focus is Tehran, the biggest city in Persia, and likely the hardest part of the attack.

Siege of Tehran

As the army would approach Tehran, they would notice a giant group of Persian soldiers, fully prepared to defend the town. What would follow was a bloody war, casulties were heavy, but, by the stark and cold night, the Persian army surrendered, and wished to enter peace with the Asauroaust Kingdom as long as they did not push further, which would make the conquered lands officially Asauroaust territory. The soldiers would be celebatory all night.

Following this large scale attack, the Persian Empire would start to show cracks of a falling empire, as the economy crumbled and the nation started to decline in population, the empire would not be able to sustain itself very long.

A group of pirates have been interrupting your shipping routes.

Whatever festivities the Brazilians prepared for the arrival of El Haluf quickly was quickly halted, as two days passed by, the reinforcements that are being sent from the Rio de la Platan Protectorate have been ambushed by a group of marauding pirates, led by a flag ship of a size of that of a heavy cruiser. Fortunately, the transport ships of El Haluf are more than capable of defending themselves when grouped together, but losses have still been recorded. Out of the 15 Transport ships, two were sunk, loosing around 2,759 out of the 15000 supposed to be reinforcements and and a significant amount of supplies, material, food, and other precious cargo.

Commander Dante was furious (he did not share the same temperament that his calm father had), partly because he learned that the transport ships were not escorted by any capable warships and High Command allowed this mishap to occur, but mostly because of the existence of this pirate group raiding unknown locations everywhere. Surely, they would strike soon, and God knows where. Sure enough, shortly after that thought, a new telegram arrived: a distress signal was beamed from another cargo ship before it was cut off. The captain let out one final word before his radio too was cut.

cannons from thre--- Flooded and listing to--- tell them I---

And then there was silence.

Dante has no other option; he is forced to use his warships to conduct patrols and escort cargo ships. Several measures have been used in order to maximize safety for his shipping lanes: cargo ships can carry mines, are informed to lie and hoist a fake flag of another nation, is tasked to meet with a patrol group in a specified coordinates where they will be escorted, and be retrofitted with more life boats and life vests should the situation demand that they are to be used. The crew hope that it doesn't. Dante also sent coded messages in Samarkand, relaying for the Oficina Intelegencia, now rebranded as the Special Action Agency, or ASA. He requested that spies and saboteurs be sent all over Brazil in order to gain insight on what these pirate group might be.

Five days later

While the plans above meant that losses from pirates have been reduced, skirmishes still occur, and thousands of tons of cargo are left damaged and ships sunk. The attacks are relentless, but are by no means a threat to the logistics of El Haluf's Army; after all, they are being supported by Brazil, now established as the Brazilian Protectorate. ASA is still yet to determine or get any leads, but a clue has been gathered. Observers from Halufian sailors and information from tortured Spanish troops identified that 13 Spanish warships managed to escape during the Battle of Fortaleza. While this information is startling it is by no means definitive. Spain is under orders to return to their homeland. Regardless, whether this is a Spanish fleet acting out of or under orders, or a Brazilian seperatist, Dante is adamant in putting a stop of these whole operations once and for all.

Tales of the Alpine War
Gefreiter Alfred Horris

It was only two days into our advance that we had managed to trap several regiments and battalions of Austro-Hungarian troops in several confines within the Alps. It was of no use for us to try and flush them out - they were too entrenched to do so. Any terms of surrender were off the table - they hadn’t accepted any prior to this. They believed an Austrian counter attack was well on its way. They couldn’t be more wrong. With tha Vandalians to the west and us, the ‘Kaiser’s Fist’ bearing down upon them they stood no chance.

Against Panzergrenadiers they wouldn’t stand, they’d be kneeling for God’s mercy upon us. If they wouldn’t surrender for us, we’d make them die for us. There was no point in negotiating beyond this - if anything our mere existence is a warning to their brethren. Fail to heed it, and your life shalt have been nothing but a fraud. Us small group of Panzergrenadiers were assigned to destroy a massive encirclement of Austrian troops, maybe two thousand or so. We, in comparison only had what, 600 troops? The numbers were appalling in comparison - what mad man would send his troops into such a overpowering force?

Our general, would. But he was smarter than most. He embraced the likes of airpower and the tank, and constantly dwelled in new ideas of committing mass decimation upon the enemy. For, today was just another of these tactics. Over the entire night, planes dropped fuel across the Austrian positions - not in barrels. They poured them over the entirety of the enemy line. It appeared they didn’t notice, many thought it was just another gas attack probably - forward observers noted that in the morning all of the Austrian troops wore them.

We wouldn’t charge enemy - not in standard fashion of course. It would’ve been suicide, not that it mattered. Most of what we did would’ve been suicide regardless. However, our unit had been equipped with twice, maybe three times as many flammenwerfers as a standard panzergrenadier unit. Our orders were to not just destroy the pocket, but light it up too. Burn their ashes to heaven, and completely destroy every single Austro-Hungarian soldier in this pocket. This tied in with the extra need for more flamethrowers.

We crawled our way to the enemy positions under the cover of fog. We made it sure that we were as quiet as possible - to not wake up or alarm the enemy. Conveniently, our path to the enemy position was up a hill. Although tough to get up, it provided us enough cover so that at a glance, we’d be under their noses when we begun the attack. It went perfectly, not a single Austrian had noticed us by the time we reached the top of the hill. Several moments passed as we readied our weapons, put on our masks and equipped our bayonets. Soldiers checked the wind and as it had been forcasted - the spring storms were blowing southward. With a few hand gestures from our squad leaders, the attack begun.

Flamethrowers lit up across the mountain, igniting the fuel that had been dropped the night before. Flames spread across the Austrian line like wildfire, incinerating everything in its path. The screams - the agony of the dying enemy was nothing short of a beautiful symphony that echoed through the mountains. We merely watched as the enemy slowly burned to death. The fires though quickly burned out, leaving nothing but charred bodies and those who managed to barely survived behind. We made our way into the trenches stepping over massive hulks of dead bodies - some with their hands on their necks. Seemingly gasping for air as they choked to death on smoke and fire. Following the result of this attack, the enemy strongholds surrendered without as much as a rock thrown.

We made it known - that the Panzergrenadiers would not be a threat to be understimated.

ALGERIA FALLS AS NATIONALIST SPAIN SEEKS COLONIES IN AFRICA

With another four cases of the virus Spanish health officials tell Franco to keep soldiers ‘over there’, in Africa. The virus originally struck in November last year but now has risen up again as Spanish troops resume their African crusade. The virus is like the flu and most affected feel it like a bad cold. Even though symptoms are rather mild the virus, named: AEV-21 also attacks your immune system leaving you open to attack from other health problems.

AEV-21 cases originally reached 1,000 in November but fell when Spanish troops left the assault to fight back against Canada. The recorded death toll for the virus was 3 but a further 150 soldiers diagnosed with AEV-21 died from other causes when their immune systems were damaged. The original plan was for a vaccine to be formulated. While tests for this continue members of an independent lab are working on using it as a threat. Releasing a strain of the virus at enemy capital cities. While this is off the books Franco still thinks of it as marvellous, but his chief advisor believes it may cause the ISUCN to place an economic shutdown.

While overnight another 15 cases were confirmed Franco got ready to visit the facility researching a vaccine, then travel to the independent lab to check on the chemical weapon being developed there. The vaccine facility informed Franco of a due date 12-16 months away. Angered he continued to the independent lab and was more satisfied with a 6-10 month due date for the weapon. When Franco returned to Madrid he found a letter containing the resignation of his chief advisor, along with a note.

Supreme Chancellor Franco, i apologise for my resignation but i felt it necessary. I worry the ICUSN will strike out at us if we continue with this research. Please consider shutting it down.
~chief advisor, Liteo Beroco…

Franco swore under his breath before turning to his chief of private investigation. “Find him and when you do, bring-him-too-me! Go!” He then burned the letter in his fireplace and settled into a posh leather armchair. He checked his mail and found a letter from his general in charge of the 3rd army: my troops are ready for the next stage of attack. As soon as supply lines are up-and-running I will send them to blitz the south east. ~ general, mitecho. Franco sighed before writing a response.

The new(and at the same time, technically not new) president of Malacca-Singapore, Joshua Tan hears of this news and decides to speak out about it, he read out his speech while in The Astana, "Citizens of Malacca-Singapore, and Earth, I would like to take time to talk about the newly-incumbent Supreme Chancellor of Spain's actions, he has recently conducted biological warfare against its enemies, more accurately, its enemies' citizens, not only is this action inhumane as these citizens are in NO way directly involved in the War Effort against Spain, nor are they a potential threat to Spain as a nation, these women and men, seniors and children are innocent, no government should ever attack the people. Spain is also conducting said biological warfare with a virus which little is known about, this is highly reckless of the Spanish Government as this quote-unquote experiments can cause a surge of cases that can go out of hand extremely quickly, we've seen how using viruses in this way is harmful, a prime example of this is the Memoavirus pandemic, President Halimah Yacob used the memoavirus against the Siamese soldiers, this attack caused an epidemic in Southeast Asia and in other regions of the world which is yet to be contained, now, you must realise that these were only directed at the soldiers, could you imagine the possible chaos that might ensue from attacking capital cities, with hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of people living in?

I would like to end my speech on this note; Malacca-Singapore officially condemns Spain for their inhumane and reckless actions. and mark my words, Chancellor Franco, The ICUSN may not have developed any international law against biological warfare on civilians, but rest assured the next you attempt anything of this calibre, the Security Council will be on your doorstep, investigating your nation you love so dearly. This Joshua Tan of Malacca-Singapore, signing out."

Asauroaust wrote:Asauroaust and Persia

Guerilla Fighter Attack!
Following a sudden attack from a guerilla fighter group as the soldiers retreated from the war, the Asauro army quickly returned to the location of attack, to check if they would once again attack, but the soldiers had their bullets loaded and were ready. The guerilla group members were caught charging in, but were swiftly shot down. Their bodies would be investigated, revealing that the group had ties to the Persian Empire that still persisted. A diplomat sent a message to the Persians, that if they did not cease, further invasions would be launched. They agree, but even then, high military surveillance still remains over the city of Tehran, which would require a lot of military funding, lightly harming the Asauroaust's economy, but it was worth it for the safety of those who live in Tehran.

Ukrainian Coup

The sky is dark and the moon is bright. Across the many pathways, roads and forests between the Soviet Union and the Ukrainian State, soldiers are marching while the vehicles are carrying guns. The Ukrainian soldiers are taken off guard and are quickly arrested by the Soviets before they could call high command. Commander of this operation is the experienced and battle harden commander Fedulov Luchok. Luchok has been tasked with delivering guns to the Ukrainian Communist Party and to help stage a coup in the country with force. The Ukrainian state, or Hetmanate as its more commonly known as, is lead by the authoritarian aristocrat Pavlo Petrovych Skoropadskyi who’s policies of Ukrainization and Anti-Socialism has left many especially communists, social democrats and ethnic minorities to seek help from the state’s neighbours for liberation from prosecution. The Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU) was very quick to organize a small force but it was no match for the Ukrainian state, dues forcing them to request aid from the Soviets. Once the soviet soldiers and equipment reached the party the Communists welcomed the army with open arms. Many soldiers in the red army, especially of Ukrainian origin, finally got to meet their brothers and fathers after years of having been in the south fighting the white army. Luchok meanwhile meet with the CPU leader Mykola Oleksiyovych Skrypnyk to discuss the upcoming coup against the Hetmanate. They decided that the Soviets would attempt a large encirclement in the middle of the country with forces from the north and south joining together in an offensive towards Kiev, meanwhile the CPU would create two large rebellions in the west and east to distract the enemy forces from the larger soviet threat.

Red Army Advance

Novorossiysk (Dnipro)
The red army began its invasion by taking the city of Novorossiysk. The city was home to many communists which the army wished to recruit. Fighting was quick and only lasted a few hours. The city hall was the only hardly fought place with Ukrainian soldiers hiding in the corridors and the many offices. The city’s people welcomed the army well with only few parts resisting. The Ukrainian soviet flag was finally flown over the city by the end of the day.

Oh Huliaipole

In the city of Dnipro Anarchism had been brewing behind the soviet lines. Although Dnipro was in the hands of the soviets, Many had began to seek man for liberation from prosecution. Nestor Ivanovych Makhno a Libertarian Socialist, although is often referred as a Anarcho-Communist, was born in Huliaipole and was the head of a small military group called the Black Army (officially called the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine). But after having been defeated by Pavlo Petrovych and Pyotr Wrangel in 1920 he was forced into exile first in Paris but later in Soviet Byelorussia where the soviets allowed to temporarily stay so he could later make a revolution in Ukraine. This revolution however never came to be as the Soviets began having talks to more Authoritarian left parties like the CPU. Nestor fell more and more out of the picture but when the Coup began against the Ukrainian State the Soviets allowed Nestor back into Ukraine. Nestor decided to live in the newly conquered city of Novorossiysk which coincidentally was also a hotspot for Anarchists. This wasn’t noticed till much later.
The Soviet authorities also didn’t notice that Nestor began to have talks and meetings with other Anarchists to plot a revolution against the soviets. At one meeting however a Soviet spy was able to get in and of course told the authorities. Nestor was on the run once again although this time with a newly made military group. The new black army fled to the forests where they enjoyed some time of peace but soon the Soviets would be after them. At the middle of the day gunshots where fired at the black army camp. The black army flag was risen and the battle began. Despite the black armies clear disadvantage, the ruthlessness that was carried out onto political opposition by the soviets and his advisors telling him to go, Nestor Makhno refused to flee. The battle was getting grimmer and grimmer for the Black army as the red army began surrounding them. Finally at dawn the Black army surrendered. Nestor Makhno was captured and taken to prison before being sentenced to be shot. Nestors dream of a Anarchist revolution and society had failed but his dreams carried on onto others.

Poltava
The historical city of Poltava had much significance and importance to the red army supply and access to the rest of the country. The fighting in Poltava was more fierce and long as Ukrainian Soldiers knew their way around the city but due to the lack of equipment and proper training against the soviet tactics the city fell. the battle also saw a large Ukrainian loss as the Soviets used the success of the battle for propaganda against the state. This propaganda proved very effective as the stability and trust between the state and people was clearly weaken with many cities and soldiers simply let the soviets in or committed mutiny.

Gradysk
Having taken Poltava, the northern army made it to the mighty Dniper river where it would meet and group up with the southern army to begin the advance towards kiev. The city of Gradysk sat right on the river and was a key city in travel between the two sides of the river. The initial artillery fire by the soviets proved ineffective as Ukrainian Soldiers hid and refused surrender. As the artillery fire carried on the command realised it was causing many civilian casualties and the command fearing that the people would turn their back on them called to stop the fire. The 23rd Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Rifle division was called to finish off the Ukrainian soldiers. The first engagement was in the north western part of the city and lasted around one hour with the Ukrainian soldiers taking heavy fire from the soviet Maxim Machineguns. As the first battle raged on many civilians were evacuated with help from both sides although this caused some splitting of families and friends. After the first battle was a resounded soviet victory they began facing the south eastern part. The Ukrainians called for a retreat taking civilian boats to cross the river but they were quickly gunned down with each boat ranging from 4-6 men on board but most only returning with 2 or 3 men left. The Ukrainian flag was finally taken down and replaced with the soviet flag after the battle had ended. The Southern and Northern armies was joined together and prepared for the final offensive and a small military parade was carried out in the city to celebrate the victory and joining of the two armies. Around 70 000 Ukrainian soldiers where now trapped by the large encirclement. This encirclement was also made clear to the enemy when the soviet command told them;

’’Attention! Listen! Moscow is speaking! Moscow is speaking! Leave the imperialist past and join the brighter future of Ukraine. Your commanders are exploiting you for time and their own gain. Commit mutiny against the greedy aristocrats! Leave your past behind join the brighter future! Death to the exploiters!’’
Propaganda was to become a very common weapon used against the Ukrainian army as the soviets promised mercy on the Ukrainians which tempted many. Around 10-20 thousand fled on their own and another 5 thousand fled with help from the soviets but the rest remained either loyal or too scared to flee.

Communist Party of Ukraine
In western Ukraine revolution filled the air as the Communist Party of Ukraine began its massive revolution. the first revolution was in Vinnytsia where the CPU had secretly recruited and imported weapons from the Soviets. The city fell within hours as the police stood no chance. The revolutionaries unexpectedly performed very well and was able to quickly defeat the police and military with little resistance. Many believe the success of the revolutionaries was due to lack of reinforcements from the Ukrainian state and that the state spent much of its manpower on the defending against the soviet invasion while others believe that disloyalty and instability caused many of the Ukrainian state police to switch sides. Meanwhile in North Eastern Ukraine another revolution took place although it was not as successful and only survived with help form the Red Army. The Western Revolution was led by Emanuel Kviring a staunch Communist and Ukrainian Bolshevik while the North Eastern Revolution was led by Fyodor Sergeyev also a staunch communist but also a close friend of Joseph V. Stalin. The two Revolutionaries where commonly arguing over who should be the First Secretary of the Ukrainian SSR. The internal battle between the two revolutions where not deep but it did have an effect on Soviet politics as Lenin worried it would escalate into civil war in Ukraine. Thankfully the issue was resolved later on.

Final Offensive
Army group north, south and south east where joined together to form a large line which would later be the spearhead for the offensive towards Kiev. The line stretched from the western revolution to the Dnieper River. In the north some gradual gains had been made to distract the Ukrainian Military but most force was put on the centre. At dawn the offensive began with an artillery strike across the front. Ukrainian soldiers hid and feared for their life as the artillery fire carried on next to them. but when the artillery stopped the Ukrainians still could not rest as the soviet soldiers began invading. The soviet soldiers shoot almost every Ukrainian soldier they saw. Little mercy was shown to the Ukrainian soldiers. Only those who were communists and Socialists where able to survive but their loyalty to socialism was often questioned.
Even though the capital of the Ukrainian State was Kiev, it was far from safe from revolution. when Ukrainian Communists in Kiev were informed about the offensive they quickly picked up arms by infiltrating an armoury and stealing guns. The revolutionaries began the revolution by marching towards Mariyinsky Palace, the residence of Pavlo Petrovych. The Kiev guards initially held their ground but was later overwhelmed by the large revolutionary group. The guards fled into the palace halls while Pavlo was guarded in his office. Pavlo could hear the incoming revolutionaries shooting and walking. Although the guards attempted to block the door the revolutionaries was in the end able to kick down the door. Pavlo was taken outside where he was hung. The death of Pavlo was the final nail in the coffin for the Ukrainian state. Eventually the soviets where able to reach Kiev. The city was in bad shape but the soviet soldiers where at least welcomed warmly by the city folk. 3 days after the death of Pavlo, Mykhailo Omelianovych-Pavlenko a general in his army declared him self the new ruler but this only De Jure as the real power laid in the hands of warlords using their final power to try and escape or to fight on. The fighting was barely intense as the tired Ukrainian soldiers could do nothing but retreat or die. Finally at last after a long war the Ukrainian state fell. its flags where replaced with the hammer and sickle.

Ukrainian SSR
After the war, the Ukrainian SSR was proclaimed as a unified entity with it joining the southern Ukrainian SSR. But who was to lead it? Emanuel Kviring was high on the list of the possible First secretary but Lenin’s advisors like Joseph Stalin and Sergei Kirov instead advised making Fyodor Sergeyev the first secretary. Lenin decided to hold a vote in the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and despite Stalin’s best attempts at convincing the Committee to vote in favour of Fyodor the committee voted by a 60% majority to give the position of First Secretary of the Ukrainian Communist Party to Emanuel Kviring. Kviring was quick to ensure the stability of the new SSR. Kviring made land reforms and got several tons of food delivered to Ukraine. He also began reconstruction of several Ukrainian cities and towns including Kiev.

Serbia invades Balkan Nations!

After the establishment of the Y.R.O.S,Serbia immediately wanted to expand and they decided to go north then south. The Prime Minister,Aleksandar Obrenović,called for an invasion of Bosnia,Croatia and Slovenia before they move on to Albania and Macedonia. They started to invade Bosnia and declared war on Croatia and Slovenia.

Bosnia fell near a few weeks after the Serbian invasion.Croatia had sent troops to Bosnia to help with Serbian advancement from the Montenegran and Serbian borders.Croatia was able to push back the Serba at the Battle of Banja Luka.Serbia did push back even harder though leaving the city in ruins due to fighting.

They then Pushed into Croatia at two different sides one at Split and the other at Osijek. These were the most important battles in the Balkan War as those were the strongest defenses from outside invasions, but Serbia broke through and steam rolled through Croatia and Slovenia surrendered immediately after what happened to Croatia and Bosnia.

Then Serbia went south to conquer Albania and Macedonia.Macedonia took some time to conquer after multiple battles were lost by the Serbs, but after the Battle of Skopje,Macedonia fell. Then Albania tried to hold the line by blockading the Adriatic from Serbia but Serbs and Montenegrans pushed through their defenses and defeated Albania. They all surrendered and at the Treaty of Sarajevo, they all joined Serbia.

Also Serbia invaded parts if Italy for more access to the Adriatic Sea so they could have better trade with nations.

On June the 1st 1922 the spanish 3rd army’s supply lines were finally complete. The commander has issued an order stating soldiers have 24 hours before we move out and finish off Algeria. He says many great things have been accomplished and many more will be. Even though AEV-21 still rages and cases have hit the triple digits, once we take Algeria we can overcome this virus and go home!

June 2nd, 1922: the spanish 3rd armies 4th and 5th battalions have made a heavy assault on Algerian lines. Even though the tanks were low on fuel they managed to capture several key outposts and supply dumps. By sundown the Algerians had lost 15 kilometres of their line. They were about to be overrun so called in an airforce that they had been saving. 56 heavy and medium bombers made continuous air-to-ground attacks during the night causing Spain over 400 casualties. Angered the generals called an emergency meeting and ordered their own air force to intercept.

Throughout the next week 40 of the Algerian bombers were shot down by aircraft, 19 by AAA and the last by Russian inspired rifle fire. Franco himself visited the front on the 16th by which time the Algerian army consisted of 500 men holed up in a small border town. He ordered them to be dispatched and then flew back to Madrid.

Upon landing the supreme chancellor went straight to his office where he checked his mail. A letter from the health department got his hopes up of a miracle breakthrough. So Franco was shocked when he read that AEV-21 had spread across the strait of Gibraltar and into spain. He had 17 cases in his homeland of which 2 are related to a hospital outbreak.

The new-german republic

An Algerian immigrant escaped from the horrors of the Spanish invasion of his homelands, fled from his country and sought refuge in the New World. Correctly thinking that the Halufiites would grant incentives to people who would migrate from North Africa to El Haluf, this man boarded a ship to the Fire Island of Curacao and seek refuge in its factories and dormitories as a a cog of the island's gigantic industries, leaving behind everything for the prospect of a fresh start in the New World.

One day, this man aged 27 years old, arrived to his factory, burning with a fever and coughing incessantly. Three hours into his shift, while operating a crane, he collapsed. The crane was lifting 5 tons of supplies at the time of the incident, but fortunately no one got hurt. He was rushed to the hospital, but while being cared for in the Emergency Room, he died as Pneumonia sets in and fluids filled his lungs.

FIRST CASES OF AEV-21 STARTED IN EL HALUF!

It was first speculated that this incident is but another victim of the Memeovirus, which is at this point is becoming more controllable by the day. However, Post-mortem investigations from specialized agents of the Ministry of Public Health indicated that the Memeovirus attacks the neurological pathways of the Nervous System, causing a rapid degradation of the victim's psychological health, leading to symptoms like dementia, hysteria, hallucinations, and eventual death. The deceased, on the other hand, suffered from flu-like symptoms before succumbing to Pneumonia.

Samples collected from the coroner and later sent to the Ministry's Molecular biologist also indicated that a weakening of the deceased's immune system occured, as indicated by an abormally high presence of White Blood Cells in the blood.

After three days of investigation, the conclusion has been formed and the results baffled the scientists: a new virus has arrived to El Haluf! Investigations from the Ministry identified that the virus, officially known as AEV-21, has actually been long present in Spain and its colonies in North Africa. Transmission of the disease is various, as the virus is transferred with fluids and droplets from a host to a victim, and can also travel as an airborne virus.

The information has been lodged as Highly Classified and will not be disseminated to the public, but Quarantine protocols have been set in Curacao, to the frustration if the people as they were forced to lock up once more; being fooled that this is the Memeovirus and not the AEV-21 that is causing this new normal.

El haluf

In other news, El Haluf have these other stories to tell to the world!

GOVERNMENT STEPS BACK AS IT GOES FOR A REFORMATION!

Much power has been granted to a single person, to whoever holds the position of Chairman, as demonstrated by the late Todd Lucero who have used the Grand Dominion Navy to conquer nations far away from the home islands of El Haluf. By the time of his death in Panama, the nation's economy is in tatters, is forced to use its National Strategic Reserves, and the people riled up in a bloodlust of frenzy and rage as massive demonstrations of anger towards the "Royalists, Colonizers, and the White Man" filled the streets of every Protectorate of El Haluf. Samarkand itself is still under repairs after the Plebiscite's Crusade ravaged the once cultured city into a warzone and destroyed the Kastila de Retendor, seat of the Chairmanship.

The House of Nobles in Rashid, as well as emissaries from all Protectorates of El Haluf, gathered in Glostham Palace as it made a declaration, supposedly made by the entire collective, to seize the powers of the Chairman, and have the nation turn into an Oligarchy, led by 240 representatives from all of the Dominion. The House of Nobles, now rebranding itself as La Casa Nobela, first course of action is to move the capital of city from Samarkand, in modern day Havana, to Panama City, which have soon replaced all cities of the nation to become the center of trade and commercial activity, and become the financial center of the world.

[I actually hope that the RP members would try to do something about this kek]

Project: Oasis Gets a Green Light from the La Casa Nobela!

Uruguay joined the Dominion six months ago, and it quickly gained a reputation as an economic center between the transit of South American and African countries of the South Atlantic Ocean. It was named "Jewel of Rio de la Plata", and was rebranded as the Rio de la Platan Protectorate.

Plans were set in motion by the nation's former president and now incumbent viceroy of the Protectorate, Lemuel Valdez. He suggested to the House of Nobles a project in Uruguay that would develop his country into a manufacturing powerhouse, as the many rivers from 6 different nations serves as a highway, delivering raw materials where Uruguay can then sell their products in the domestic stage.

The idea was first suggested to the first House of Nobles, which was seen as ludicrous and a waste of time. But after Lucero's death and the Casa Nobela's rise to power, the government required an economic plan that would take the still confused people to their side. Thus, Project Oasis was approved and the development of Uruguay as an interconnected web of many large cities commenced.

The project would take many years before it fully develops, but the benefits should be worth it, according to figures and estimates. The Project is said that it would massively decrease employment, essential when the veterans of El Haluf's many wars starts coming home. New infrastructure must be constructed, and entire neighborhoods have to be brought down. The government could not contribute much money due to them having to struggle into using the National Strategic Reserves, so they encouraged tax incentives for anyone, from the lowliest indentured worker to the largest megacorporations and Foreign Legions of El Haluf, while also subtly increasing taxes for citizens. Thus, El Haluf actually incentivises citizens to donate for tax exemptions, or risk themselves into paying higher taxes over time. Numerous indentured workers were sent to clear out forests and swamps, and clean the polluted rivers. Meanwhile, plans from the Dominion Guard to capture all the rivers from the different states are being ratified. For Project Oasis to work, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, and parts of Argentina must be captured to the Dominion's cause.

Gradysk
Having taken Poltava, the northern army made it to the mighty Dniper river where it would meet and group up with the southern army to begin the advance towards kiev. The city of Gradysk sat right on the river and was a key city in travel between the two sides of the river. The initial artillery fire by the soviets proved ineffective as Ukrainian Soldiers hid and refused surrender. As the artillery fire carried on the command realised it was causing many civilian casualties and the command fearing that the people would turn their back on them called to stop the fire. The 23rd Rifle Regiment of the 2nd Rifle division was called to finish off the Ukrainian soldiers. The first engagement was in the north western part of the city and lasted around one hour with the Ukrainian soldiers taking heavy fire from the soviet Maxim Machineguns. As the first battle raged on many civilians were evacuated with help from both sides although this caused some splitting of families and friends. After the first battle was a resounded soviet victory they began facing the south eastern part. The Ukrainians called for a retreat taking civilian boats to cross the river but they were quickly gunned down with each boat ranging from 4-6 men on board but most only returning with 2 or 3 men left. The Ukrainian flag was finally taken down and replaced with the soviet flag after the battle had ended. The Southern and Northern armies was joined together and prepared for the final offensive and a small military parade was carried out in the city to celebrate the victory and joining of the two armies. Around 70 000 Ukrainian soldiers where now trapped by the large encirclement. This encirclement was also made clear to the enemy when the soviet command told them;

NPC Response

In the reconstructed city of Kiev, there seems to be a community of delinquents who keep on posting up posters that promote anti-Lenninist and anti-socialist propaganda. After investigating one of the said delinquents, it seems they are armed with minor weapons, like pistols and knifes. Nothing explosive or that can cause a large-scale attack, but they still pose a threat. What will the Ukrainian SSR do about this threat?
