Mm, I do enjoy sugar.

Also, after dealing with the puritanical laws of the TSP RMB, we've gotten quite skilled at reading subtext. Certain death worries lesser beings, not those with a combined total of 49 Employee of the Month plaques.

I trust in my 25 billion shield to protect me from such shenanigans. Besides, have you ever tried Auphelia’s cooking? It would gag a vulture, but when you’re stuck in a cargo container with her for two weeks, you make sacrifices.

By being a wonderfully, woefully wicked and winsome woman with a winning disposition, naturally.

Battle of Bhangapura (February 17th, 2030)

Rebels during the battle

The first engagement of the Royabadi Civil War. 30,000 against 500 defenders. The loyalists being outnumbered, were forced to retreat to the capital and took 200 casualties. However, they inflicted heavy casualties. Sources vary between 600 to 1,000 rebels killed or wounded. Nonetheless, the rebels continued to push towards the capital, recruiting more people to their cause.

The Siege of Royabad City, the current capital of the nation, was a series of waved attacks conducted by the anti-monarchist opposition. The siege lasted for a total of almost two months, ended with the siege being called off leaving almost 23,000 soldiers dead or wounded plus around 40,000 civilian casualties due to the shelling of the capital. This was a huge moral boost to the loyalist cause. After the siege, the sultan issued a full mobilization of the pockets of land still under control of the government and to harass the retreating rebel army heading north to regroup.

An offensive against the rebel held city of Jodhpur for the control of it and the river that runs near it. The whole battle was instead supposed to be a raid, but the military high command later decided that they would instead have to capture it due to strategic importance. The rebels have failed to recognize this importance and so only stationed 2,000 troops there. At dawn on May 4th, an artillery bombardment on rebel defenses. After a three hour bombardment, 30,000 loyalists troops attacked the city against the 2,000 defenders. Though being outnumbered, the rebels fought valiantly and inflicted significant casualties. However, superior numbers ran out and on the 7th of May, the remaining rebels either capitulated or fled across the river.

Lal Pahar, or P1 in the unclaimed frontier of central Unistan (Rajid “Sajan” Haghighi, 2016)

Royabad is a Muslim country that observes the month of Ramadan. So for the majority of the month, there was little to no fighting along the front. Thus, a ceasefire began in order to burry the dead and observe the month in peace. The Rebels took the opportunity to reach the nation’s northern frontier and escape into the vast forests and inland mountains beyond or to neighboring Arklen in order to regroup, reorganize and recover from the devastating blows government troops inflicted on them. The Loyalists took their time to reposition themselves and gain much needed rest after the heavy fighting at Royabad and Jhodpur. Both also sides took the opportunity to set up and make repairs on fortifications.

On Eid al-Fitr, a day to celebrate the end of the fast during the month of Ramadan, there are talks about the actions afterwards against the rebels who mostly fled into the frontier and Arklen. There are plans drawn to start an intervention in the Austro-Hungarian colony and the conquest of the Frontier.

Saddamist dissidents begin an uprising in northwestern Royabad, funded by the Levantin in order to spread the anti-western Saddamism and to subjugate Royabad as it’s puppet just as loyalist troops began an invasion of the interior. As the situation deteriorated, Austria-Hungary (Osterreich und ungarn) and Aldenbourg began sending their military to support Royabad while San Sierra (Shavara) sent material and logistical support. Rebels that have fled to Arklen, as a result of the Austro-Hungarian intervention, were either arrested and handed over to the Royabadi loyalists or fled further into the unclaimed lands of Unistan.

Stalemate

Since May 23rd, the conflict has experienced a stalemate. As it trudged on with no military gains occurring in months save for a few skirmishes, foreign powers began to pull out of the divided nation due to costs and because of their direct conflict with Levantin, with only the Shavarans and their Air Force maintaining their presence. However, from time to time there have been flare ups in fighting.

Zanzimibian intervention

The lull in combat broke with the sudden declaration of war by Zanzimibia, the immediate invasion by the Zanzimibian Red Army and the haunting whistle of bombs by Zanzimibian aircraft—preemptive airstrikes conducted on a multitude of cities—namely the capital city Royabad, Pandua, Jhodpur and other key locations. The attack took the loyalists off guard and the Zanzimibians scored thousands of casualties, both civilian and military.

As Zanzimibians began to approach opposition defenses—the rebels, being unaware of the sudden invasion and the declaration of war by the Zanzimibians, began to either surrender to either shoot at their potential allies or surrender due to them thinking they were loyalists. Luckily for the opposition, no kind of retribution was made and the two allies shook hands, apologized for the inconvenience, and joined forces in their trenches.

Southern Offensive (October 14, 2030—February 20, 2031)

Rebel artillery firing on loyalist positions

Jawaharlal Ali Khan, emboldened by the newfound strength in numbers, ordered an immediate artillery barrage on the loyalist trenches followed by a full scale attack. Due to the indecisive flare ups made by both parties along the front, both sides had tweaked and tuned their defenses and trenches—thickening the walls of their underground living quarters with steel, concrete and sheet metal, stringing barbed wire and mines out in no man's land and installing machine guns and bunkers along their perimeters.

At around 3:00 PM, loyalist soldiers rushed out of their quarters to man their positions, they stopped and looked out into the fog of war left by the bombardment with a mix of awe, dread and horror as they watched a row of Levantine armor approaching with a wave of infantry rising out of their trenches behind them.

Destroyed Zanzimibian armor

San Sierran bombers were dispatched to aid the defense of their lines whilst the defenders threw anything they had at the oncoming assault—grenades, satchel charges, mines and anti-tank rifles. Sometimes desperate soldiers would crawl out of their trenches towards the enemy armor and attempt to disable them. Some were successful and managed to knock some tanks out. Others were cut down by the armor or the oncoming infantry. Reserve forces were quickly dispatched to the frontline as some sectors began to get overrun by the sudden wave of armor, infantry and artillery. Some of these reserves include paramilitary forces, fresh volunteers—most of which never experienced combat—armed with hand-me-downs from the government army, captured rebel weapons, and personal firearms. As San Sierran air support rained down on enemy armour and troops, some of the loyalist forces managed to rally and counter attack, driving the rebel lines back and reclaiming their trenchworks.

As the charge's momentum was finally drained, the rebels and Zanzimibian forces had managed to push loyalist forces near the outskirts of Jhodpur. Some units had attempted to flank the royalists in the east, outside the borders of Royabad. Royalist troops and militia were promptly deployed to check the enemy's advance near a hamlet named Felswasser, a town settled by Austro-Hungarian settlers who fled the rebellion in Arklen. The rebels were successfully halted in their advance there. Meanwhile in the west, around Shonargram, rebel troops were successfully repulsed and were even pushed back 20 kilometers back along the Easarion border. Some pockets of royalist forces held out in the original center, being supported by the San Sierran air force through air strikes and supply drops, such as one 15 kilometers away from Jamalpur. Others who were encircled however, were either quickly disarmed and sent into captivity, or executed on the spot.

The casualties on both sides are estimated to be high after the offensive, with 987,300 dead, wounded or missing.
