The nation's apology for those it has executed in the last year has come a little late for some,
every workday begins with group therapy,
cooking with water and baking soda is considered patent infringement,
and you need two tenors and a coloratura contralto to sing the national anthem properly.

Mon Landia
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Mon Landia is one of the provinces that make up the Republic of South Baba. Its capital and most populated city is Port Norviktu, formerly known as Monia-on-Sea. It is the only province in the country located outside the island of South Baba and the last to be admitted as such. With more than 6 million inhabitants at the time of annexation, it is the most populous province in the country. It is the only province with a Monian Baban majority. It was admitted into South Baba on July 20, 2020. It was an autonomous colony of the Kingdom of Monia until that day.
The thriving Monian economy, worth 76.4 trillion farthings a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Cheese Exports, Retail, and Trout Farming. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 77,189 farthings, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.9 times as much as the poorest. Mon Landia's economy ranks as the largest in South Baba.
Etymology
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Mon Landia, meaning Land of Mon, was given as a name by the Mon people from the Mon Island. They were the first to land in the territory and named it as such because it is part of the continent.
The standard way to refer to a resident of Mon is "Monian" specifically or "South Baban" generally.
History
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Colony of Monia
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
In 1935 the Kingdom of Monia found a huge uninhabited piece of very fertile land and claimed it to establish a colony there, initially calling it Mon Land. This name would then evolve into Mon Landia.
Monia built a city named Monia-on-Sea (now named Port Norviktu) to host the colonys central port. Mon Landias first Governor-General was Alexander Byavat, a famous businessman from Monia.
Mon Landias relevance grew to such an extent that, decades later, the colony was repeatedly proposed as a site for a Monia spaceport or even a cosmodrome but environmental organizations stopped both projects because of their harmful effects.
Province of South Baba
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
On 20 July 2020, Mon Landia became a province of South Baba. With the South Baban Prime Minister by his side, the President of the Republic of South Baba formally proclaimed Mon Landia the newest province of the Republic of South Baba after the signing of the annexation treaty that same day. To mark the event, impromptu motorcades inundated the already crowded streets of downtown Monia City (now Port Norviktu, capital of Mon Landia) as their drivers perpetually pressed on their horns. Mon Landia was seen as being on the threshold of a new epoch.
Demographics
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Population
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The compassionate, hard-working, democratic population of 990 million Monians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
Language
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The majority of Monians speak Monian, the mother-tongue of the Mon people. English is also listed as an official language in the province's constitution, it being the main language of South Baba. South Baban Creole and other European languages are the first languages for a minority of the population.
Religion
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
Mon Landia is officially a secular province and Freedom of Religion is broadly respected. Roman Catholicism and Islam are the most widespread religions in Mon Landia. Many residents however, especially among the province's South Baban community, are either unaffiliated or irreverent towards religion.

Government
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The Monian government's structure is determined by the Constitution of the Province of Mon Landia. Like other South Baban provinces, Mon Landia has a government divided into three branches: executive, judicial, and legislative. However, a notable exception to these shared characteristics is in the form of the presidential nature of the provincial government whereas the other provinces have a parliamentary system. Therefore, in Mon Landia, the chief executive (the governor) is relatively independent of the legislature (the Provincial Legislature). The executive and legislative branches operate primarily at the provincial level, although various ministries in the executive branch also carry out local functions. Local governments are semi-autonomous, and contain executive and legislative bodies of their own. The judicial branch, led by the Supreme Court, operates at both the provincial and local levels.
Culture
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
The foundational culture of Mon Landia is Mon. Monian culture can be described as an extension of the culture of the Kingdom of Monia. Monia occupation and colonialism of the territory created a culture characterized by them. While traditional Monian culture remains in modern Monian society, is has recently been highly influenced by the culture of South Baba. The South Baban cultural influx is the result of Mon Landias annexation and granting of province status by the Republic of South Baba. As an effect, after the 2020 annexation and accession as a South Baban province, Mon Landia has continued to develop an identity of its own. Some of its cultural characteristics are strong enough to affect the wider South Baban nation.
A very important date in the Monian calendar is 20 July, a provincial holiday known as A&P Day, where many locals celebrate Mon Landias annexation and its provincial status mainly by wearing the South Baban flag colors. A&P Day (or Annexation and Provincial Day) is a legal holiday in the province and it is celebrated annually on 20 July to commemorate the anniversary of Mon Landia's 2020 admission to South Baba.
