When I took a trip to DC, I went to the capitol building. Just getting into the building was a struggle. You had to go through metal detectors, pass security guidelines, etc. So, really, they didn't let them in. They broke in.

There were hundreds of people trying to enter, and a small number of on-site security. They called the police to help, and they came. However, this didn't stop them. They started breaking windows and climbing in, beating and throwing objects at officers.

Finally, they decided to send in the National Guard. Things started to calm down after that. Obviously, we need better on-site security.
