@San Carlos Islands

This was posted on the LCN RMB. I reply to him here rather than interject on their RMB.

Well, I am a religious pro-lifer, and strenuously object to the gross, and simple minded generalization that we are hypocrites.
Shall I make the claim that secularists are covered in the blood of millions? As a good case can be made for that.
But generalities of a large group of people are from a place of ignorance. Are they not?

What I'm refering to is that you want to have your cake and eat it to. Unless you support schemes proven to reduce abortion such as comprehensive sex education and free birth control (which most religious people I know in the movement seem not to support), you are not truly pro-life I think.

Hopefully you understand what I mean.

No I do not.

Sex education prevents abortion? No evidence at all.

Free birth control? Nothing is free. Government must forcefully take my money to pay for something I vehemently oppose. Birth control availability has not reduced abortion.

Perhaps, people instead of acting like unrestrained animals, exercise self control, engage in respecting themselves, and others. But secularism teaches nihilism, degrades the dignity of humanity.

Now, I would ask exactly how it is that I, a religious pro lifer am a hypocrite.

Sex ed literally reduces teen pregnancy and unwanted pregnancy in general, therefore reducing abortions

You vehemently oppose the concept of birth control? (Which reduces unwanted pregnancy, and therefore, abortion)

Except you cannot show any correlation between sex ed, and a reduction in abortion.

Secularists look for bandaids for their nihilism. Ignoring the sanctity of human life, birth control becomes a talisman for abandoning control over ones sexual self.

Secularists view human life as disposable. Then from upon their mountain of righteousness frown on anyone who believes that life is precious, and people should act like adults, treating themselves, and others with respect for all life. Not just when it's convenient.

The secularists with no objective morality, must resort to subjective nihilistic narratives to support the destruction of the most vulnerable among us.

1. But... I can? Most abortions are for socioeconomic reasons from the unwanted pregnancy... More sex ed reduces unwanted pregnancy... and thus... abortion...

2. Or I don't want to obliterate my girlfriend and I's college prospects and destroy her mental health and life goals at age 18, but ok, buddy.

The last two things are just bad faith so not responding to those.

Further, the Church opposes birth control because God told us to go forth and multiply. If non Catholics want to consume birth control that's their perogative.
But don't force me to follow your religion, and don't steal my money to pay for it. Grow up, and take responsibility for your own personal life choices regardless of how f*****up they are.

I'm not forcing you to follow my religion... and I have a job, I pay for my own contraceptives. But nice "screw the poor" attitude.

Also, how are my choices f-ed up?

Edit: Also, I take full responsibility for my choices and any potential results of them. However, being cautious to prevent the worst case outcome is common sense, not extrernalization of responsibility.

You have no empirical evidence to support your premise that sex ed prevents abortion. None at all.

Screw the poor? Somehow poverty prevents someone from acting in a moral way?
Wow, nice elitist, privileged view of people you view as a lower class than you.

Because I don't want to pay for something I oppose is "screwing the poor"?
Tell me please, in which western liberal democracy are the poor cut off from any form of birth control? I can walk downtown right now, and find several organizations that will fill your pockets with condoms.

But yes, it is forcing me to adhere to your religion when the secular government under threats of violence steals my money to pay for your nihilism.

I hope everyone here can appreciate the rich irony of those in a conservative region extolling the benefits of massive government social programs (and resulting tax increases) to compensate for societal nihilism. That's gotta be worth a giggle.

Elections on. Read the factbooks to make up your mind.

Have you noticed perchance that "conservative" regions in NS...are really just liberal lite, or full on liberal?
And how many Christian regions have their segment of almost anti-Christian resident trolls?

Just a passing thought...

It appears that, unfortunately, this is becoming more and more true of not just NS but the world at large, it may not be too long until the same travesty that happened with the abortion vote here happens in the UN, EU or other extra national organizations. We can only hope it doesn’t come to that

Exactly. We've seen the left march through our institutions for decades. The misery inflicted is demonic in scope.

Bored, help, now.

No school, or work today? Church, bible study? Perhaps a Harley, and a bottle of JD would ease your predicament.

Well, that was boring.

Well thanks, but there’s not boredom anymore
