Welp I just got Persona 4 as a gift. Any tips before I play the game? I’ve never played a Persona/Shin Megami Tensei game.

Agreed. You need to be balance both your social and physical stats well. I'd recommend grinding for a large period of time to get your stats to an above average level and then you won't have to worry about those for a while. You can then focus on you companions more.
