Suzi Island wrote:Thoughts on each state: .... 5-Stars

AL: A warm muggy state with good shrimp feeds and friendly people. :)
AK: Beautiful, wild, free. --> agreed
AR: Home of the " good ole boy" crime network since before J Edgar
AZ: Sad what the Neocons did to Goldwater and family just to get McCain on the most favored list
CA: A State of Confusion and object lesson of what happens when delusional people who willfully ignore reality are in charge
CO: Build a wall around Denver and cede it to California
CT: Northeast Liberals without the clue historic cities like Boston or Philly --> Nor any clue to their own history of learning trailblazing self-government experimentally
DE: Where evil corporations hide
FL: Only place in US besides Louisiana that was so corrupt (Dade County) we (enlisted men) had to treat local government as if it were an unfriendly foreign regime.
GA: Enjoyed parts of Savannah, but couldn't stand the disparity between rural poor and working ruralites.
HI: Pretty state but way too expensive to live --> nice place to be when there are no tourists and one has cousins there
ID: Seems like a great state with good values --> Traditional Idahodian, but the State is in real danger of becoming Colorado Jr.
IL: Build a wall around Chicago and cede it to Ontario, Canada. Jewish communities there are some of the best in the world.
IN: Something to do with race cars...
IA: Caucus --> too many Democratic Party farmers not enough cowgirls
KS: The most beautiful mountains you'll never see. :)
KY: Stand with Rand --> and Senator Paul too! :)
LA: Would enjoy drinking in NOLA --> 2nd worst shore patrol duty ever
ME: Lobsters and a weird political vibe --> here be things man was not meant to know
MD: Too close to DC --> too close to Marx and Engels
MA: Massholes --> from a great shining city on a hill to a narcissistic hell-hole
MI: Home to Americas greatest college --> Reformed Theological Seminary is okay... :)
MN: colder than it seems
MS: more shrimp and better crawdads than AL
MO: I'll be deep in the cold ground before I recognize Missourah -- My flapper grandmother at 13 was arrested in KS city for indecent exposure (wearing a bathing suit that didn' t cover her shins), plus she was in an illegal speak-easy during prohibition, underage in a beauty pageant, participating in an illegal beauty pageant, public drunkenness, resisting arrest, an additional charge truancy for good measure. For some reason she hated MO also. Denominational Capitol of the US
MT: Great state where my grandfather grew up --> One of mine also. His family owned the late great Bar 93 Ranch outside Hamilton. :)
NE: Cornfields and Missile Silos
NV: the horny toads are fun to play with
NH: Expand Greater NH to include rural NY
NJ: Where cars of rural states go to die because for some reason the state of NJsubsidizes at taxpayer expense a bounty to crush them.
NM: a river runs through it
NY: a shame it is a vestigial appendage of NYC
NC: I drove to Raleigh from Old Dominion Annex (at VB) to watch Wolfpack play Blue Devils (free ticket). Left ticket at home. Friends I was to meet there got an emergency deployment out. I had a couple of loads of laundry in back seat of car so did laundry at University. It is evening (fri or sat) with a basketball game going on. I am the only one doing laundry, except for a co-ed who comes in to do her laundry and strikes up a conversation about which quad I am in. No quad. Asks where I live. I say from out of state -- a sailor from Norfolk with some free time to take classes at ODU. Asks what I am doing in Raleigh. Unthinkingly, I say, "My laundry." She gets a weird look on her face, grabs her things and quickly leaves. :(
ND: Horrible place to homestead. Nice place to meet people, if one can find them.
OH: That state that people think Idaho is next to.
OK: The State one of my Grandmothers escaped from. No joke.
OR: Build a wall 20 miles round from Portland to Eugene, cede it to "Reality" TV.
PA: Excommunicated by an FGC Yearly Meeting without the courtesy to first be shunned. My first experience with being given the left foot of fellowship, but not my last.
RI: Residents don' t take petitions to change the name of the State to Aquidneck seriously...
SC: Took voice lessons to speak with a Southern Accent to not stand out like a Yank.
SD: Underrated state --> agreed
TN: Huzzah to the county that requires each home to have a firearm. Lowest crime rates in the country for some reason.
TX: Too many Californicans.
UT: Only Military fort in the US that built its cannons facing into the its Capitol instead close to the city facing outward.
VT: Depressing place if one is not a Progressive
VA: Further you get from DC the better --> yeppers
WA: Spokane is better than Seattle --> yeppers
WI: Cheese, and Gen Con,
WY: What Idaho would be without the influx of Californians

AQ: Those penguins are up to something...
DC: I cannot express my disgust for how the District is misgoverned/maladministrated. Split the civilian areas into two city/municipalities East and West Washington, and give them back to their respective Maryland counties (Montgomery and St George's). Keep the federally owned properties as the District of Columbia and have them "administered" directly by Congress as if the can administer anything.
CZ: Its been a hell-hole ever since the Progressivist Democrats gave it away. The canal itself is now run and (profited by) Communist China. Several Citizen refugees live in Idaho and have a lot to say about their displeasure still.
GU: Beautiful places and great people --and Guam still hasn't tipped over. Imagine that.
CM and former TT (Marshall Islands et al.): Great places to be an Oceanographer.
PR: Great food, and many good people. Lots of places to avoid though. Beware the chupacabra was big when I was there. Never saw one.
